This review is actually for the salon in Williamsburg, but I figure if they offer the same service, they're in the same boat. AW-FUL EXPERIENCE! I will not waste my time at this salon ever again. I had gotten a Groupon for a mani/pedi at Atir. My pedicure was okay, definitely not worth the full price ($40) though. It was mediocre, at best. Then I had my manicure, which the girl who did my pedi didn't even offer to help me place my stuff at the bar, which I thought was pretty poor hospitality for such a fancy-schmansy salon. When I got to the bar, I literally sat there being overlooked by ever single girl, for 15-20 minutes. They do this stupid rotation of girls, so "every single person will have their hands on you, at some point." Which is completely false. Finally, a customer next to me said something to the owner about me having sat there for so long, and that I did not look please. And then I overheard her reply, "Oh, people either love us or they hate us. But she'll get her nails done and want to come back." Um, no. Never in a million years. I could do my own nails and it would be better service. When someone finally came to work on me, she said all "new" people get an introduction on the process. Oh, great, just what I want after work. Not a relaxing, rejuvinating experience at the salon, oh no...I'd rather get lectured on how to do my nails "properly." Isn't that what I'm paying you for? And yes, they do push their products on you, nonstop. Two girls worked on my nails and that's all they wanted to do. So on top of being pissed they took way too long to get to me, I was irritated that I was getting a nail lecture and being told to buy their products. Why would I give you more money?? 2 1/2 hours later, I was done, and I wish I had gotten a regular pedi and a shellac; I would not have been disappointed in my regular salon. I will not support your buisness if you have terrible customer service. And I'll tell anyone who asks me, not to go to Atir. Terrible salon.

Atir gives the best mani/pedi in Richmond! Everyone there is so nice and accommodating, not to mention the services are top of the line, my pedicure will last a month, while manicure usually a week or more! I absolutely love Atir, and tell all of my friends about them!

I will never go anywhere but Atir to get a manicure or pedicure. Not only is the salon extremely clean and organized but the staff is friendly and very well educated about natural nails. My manicure lasts a solid week without chipping. The concept of Atir is innovative and refreshing, I am completely hooked and will never go anywhere else for a manicure or pedicure! I moved to virginia from out state and I'm so thankful Richmond has Atir!!!!!!!!!

Prices are 30% than other salons, with nothing exceptional added. Turned off when the manicurist seemed impatient when I was trying to select a color, and trying to decided between two, which took maybe 3 minutes. What was really off putting was hearing a manicurist (glasses and nose stud) working on the woman next to me, talking about West End women in a really negative way. Someone needs to tell her, the women of the West End make up the bulk of their clientel.

Over priced, one impatient and one rude staff member makes it a one time only salon.

This nail salon is not your typical nail shop. They specialize in natural nail health. So they do not put on tips or fake nails of any kind. They also have a line of very nice nail/hand care products. My first visit was free, as they have coupons posted outside the door, and the atmosphere is very nice. They serve coffee/tea/water and give you a heated aromatherapy pillow for your neck. The inside of the shop smells so good...definitely not like your typical chemically smelling nail shop. It is very clean and bright. I would have rated them higher but after getting the manicure I ended up with a lot of hang nails and I haven't had those in years. I wouldn't go again because of the manicure results.
