I went in January 2011, with my family to search and found my perfect wedding dress! I loved the associate and the dress, for now. I purchased the dress and paid full price. The dress I tried had a few loose tacks but it wasn't the dress I wsnt wearing on my wedding day, I thought. I opened the bag I received my dress in and it was the same dress, so I was assured it would be free or charge to place a few tacks back in the dress. I scheduled my bridesmaids for there appointment in february. I have five bridesmaids, all you were at the appointment. The consultant didn't pull any dresses, even when we asked if the dress was avaliable in a certain size, I had to leave my bridesmaids and go pull the dress. The consultnt was of NO help! I was told the dresses we chose would be avaliable early april, an 8 week turn around but suddeny they would now not be avaliable until shortly before my wedding so I was told we must order them right then! The consultant was rude and very unprofessional. My first bridesmaidspurchased her gown and behold the delivery date and april 8thp, when I found this out I asked to return the gown because I did not want out consultant getting comission for our purchase, the consultant refused! She lied to get us to purchase the gowns and was rewarded with comission. I have called several times to complain and can't seem to reach a manager. And since I've also learned, they said I had a dress on sale so I will be paying the full cost for alterations, even though I paid full price. And my bridesmaids dress came in februar 25th, two weeks after they were ordered. I still have to shop for my flowergirls and I WILL NOT be going back to Davids Bridal!

I think David's Bridal, and this store particularly have it all figured out on how to offer poor quality dresses, how to bait & switch so as not to give sale prices.
I was married in May '06. The first associate I dealt with was not of any assistance at all during my visit and appeared to be helping at least 2 other brides, and was cleaning the dressing rooms even when I tried to get her attention to help me. She reprimanded my matron-of-honor for going over to the racks and grabbing more dresses for me to try on. How could she have scolded my friend for assisting me when she wasn't around to help? My matron-of-honor helped me into each dress and up onto the mirrored pedestal area. I found a dress I liked (a size 14, this is important later). I expressed my distaste for their service to the store manager and she responded by assigning me an even worse associate.
The second associate continued to tell me that her blood sugar was low, like mentioned it every 5 minutes...but never excused herself to remedy the situation. I tried on the dress again in the size 14. I said that I wanted to buy it and applied for the store card and bought the dress that night. I put the gown in the zip-up bag they "provided", but really charged me for without telling me that was at an additional cost; and didn't look at it again for a few months because I didn't want to get it dirty, or show it to my almost husband. When I got home I realized that they had not giving me the sale price that was on the gown I was trying on. The next Saturday I went into the store and asked why I hadn't been given the sale price and was told that the sale was only for "regularly" sized gowns. Not really caring about my dress size, I just shrugged it off, but the feeling of being over charged left a bad taste in my mouth. Furthermore, the dress sales were FINAL. I understand why.
When I went into the store a few months later for alterations I tried on my dress for the first time since the day I bought it. The dress was too big for me, but that's why I was there to get alterations right? The seamstress told me that I had bought a size 18 dress.
Um I seemed to remember thinking I was buying a 14. Remember all dress sales are final
The seamstress talked to the same manager I had been dealing with and she let me "exchange" my dress for the size 14. At first she said, "Well, you must have lost a lot of weight!" and even winked at me. She quickly saw that I was not buying their bait & switch scam. If I had lost 2 dress sizes none of my other clothes would have fit, my underwear & bra would not have fit. If anything I gained a little bit of weight. Then I asked her about not getting the sale price, the size 14 was not marked as a plus size. She'd give me store credit for the amount they over charged me, $150. Keep in mind for 5 months the balance on the store credit card has been racking up high interest, (for those playing the home game that little mix up likely cost me close to $300).
On my wedding day as my mom was steaming the train on my dress she remarked at how poor the quality of the fabric was and that there were threadbare spots (my dress should have been good as new considering I only wore it at my final fitting & on my wedding day)
