Main Street Cat Hospital is a great place to take your cat. he entire staff is so kind and caring. They do not try to soak you for expensive un-necessary tests. I have gone to every vet in Lower Westchester and this is the only vet the I felt was in the business for the love of cats and not money.

So much better than our local vet. Compassionate and caring staff. When you have an emergency these are the people you need.

We've used many cat hospitals in the area over the years and our first experience with MSCH was quite good. The care was very detailed and complete, and the vet took plenty of time both with the cat and explaining the details of what was done. Interestingly, they were very reasonably priced and after being overcharged by other vets and getting poor service, we were quite happy with MSCH. Our cat was considerably happier than at other vets as there were no dogs barking. We actually lost a cat at one of the other vet offices because a dog scared the cat so much he bolted out the door. MSCH has a doule door so that can not happen. Overall a very good experience.

My indoor-only cat got fleas this summer. I called Main Street Cat Hospital and they explained that indoor-only cats that sit in open windowsills are vulnerable to flea infestation (the fleas can jump in through the screen). Also, we human members of the family can carry fleas in--they usually like hiding on pants legs and socks. So my kids began taking their socks and shoes off before coming inside, and sure enough, I did see fleas on their socks. The staff at Main Street Cat Hospital advised treating my cat with Advantage for 6 months. They explained the multiple application of Advantage is important because the eggs seem to be resistant to the chemical. So you have to do repeat applications to kill the fleas that hatch on the cat. They also told me to flea-treat my house, my car, and my cat's carrier (and I saw fleas in my car--where my cat had never been!). When I brought my cat in for an exam after the fleas were gone, I found the staff at Main Street Cat Hospital to be quite friendly, and Dr. Pirotin was great. She spent a lot of time talking to me about fleas (and my other concerns about my cat). For the amount of time the doctor and the staff spent with me and my cat, and from the prices I was being quoted from other area vets, I have to say, I thought the prices charged by Main Street Cat Hospital to be quite reasonable. I've recommended this vet to my family and friends and will continue to do so. I feel very supported by the doctor and staff at Main Street Cat Hospital.

We took one of our three indoor cats to the Main Street Cat Hospital in Elmsford. Soon after, all three cats were scratching and biting themselves. Turns out they had fleas. In fact, our entire house had fleas and we have spent literally hundreds of dollars trying to get rid of them. We have bathed the cats several times, called exterminators, sprayed and powdered. This has been a real burden, covering and uncovering dishes and food, removing pets during treatment, four children to protect from insecticides...

I probably wouldn't have considered the Cat Hispital until I heard from a neighbor across the street. They took their cat to the Main Street Cat Hospital in Elmsford too and their cat got fleas right after!

We don't visit eachother's homes, so it was quite a coincidence that their cat and home were infested with fleas after a visit to Main Street Cat Hospital in Elmsford.

We called the Main Street Cat Hospital in Elmsford, but their explanation is fleas could come in from the outdoors. These are indoor cats and this is the first time we have EVER seen a flea in our house. We've lived here for five years and in our entire lives with cats we have never seen anything like this.

Needless to say, we will never use Main Street Cat Hospital in Elmsford ever again. Too bad, but it turns out Dakota vets are around the same price... without the fleas!
