Voro Restaurant

Fair Warning: I was not a customer at this place so the following is about how I was treated at Voro, but not as a customer. So I went to this place once late night after it was already converted into a night club or whatever. Not bad although that is not the best situation to judge a restaurant. I applied to work there as a bartender and was given an interview with a manager on a Thursday night. Night as in like 8 or 9 pm. Whatever; it was for a bartender position. Anyway, he introduced me to the bar manager with whom I set up a training session on an early afternoon during the week. During my initial interview I specified that I Cannot work Wednesdays because I have class. These people allow me to put in my 2-weeks-notice at my other job; they don't return my calls during that entire 2 week period and when I finally catch the bar manager on the phone, she tells me she hired someone else because I can't work Wednesdays. I considered the entire situation quite a lack of professionalism, regardless of whether it was due to lack of communication or lack of paying attention, or whatever. I've boycotted that place ever since.

I don't know what happened but this restaurant took a nosedive for the worst. One year ago it was terrific - not any more. We went for Valentine's Day. There was no hostess and it took 20 minutes for a waitress to come off the floor and seat us (with a reservation). Then the waitresses debated over who would serve us. When I tried to order the lobster ravioli I was told they were out of it (on Valentine's day and a Saturday night?!?!) I order barbecue salmon (and we were disappointed to see the fillet mignon and chocolate fondue were off the menu). Salads come out 20 minutes later - still no bread and olives. When we ask for bread we're told they're out. How can you be out of Italian bread?!?! So they bring us the mini hamburger buns used for the sliders on the appetizer menu. We overhear the couple next to us ask for the molten lava cake, and they are told the restaurant is out of that too. We spend 20 more minutes talking with the other couple about how much the restaurant has changed and what a difference it is from last time. Food comes out 1 hr after our order was taken - it's a totally different dish. I ask why - we were given the wrong menu. The chef changed 2 weeks ago and not all the menus were swapped out. So we politely ask for the entrees to be taken away and removed from the bill.We ask to speak to the manager and are told she's sick. We ask to speak to the owner and are told he's not there. The waitress apologizes and says she will call the owner so see if she can comp us what little we did eat/drink. She comes back and says the owner said he could not comp us for the alcohol (one Heineken and two glasses of white wine - NOT top shelf liquor). She brings us the bill - and we've been charged for the salads. We complain AGAIN and she takes them off then proceeds to tell us it's not just us but every table has had a problem that night. As we were leaving DJ were coming in with their gear. I suppose this restaurant is shifting from upscale lounge to cheesy low class dance party. If the owner doesn't care about his own restaurant why should you? Save your money and your time and go to one of the hundreds of better restaurants in the area.

The food is amazing, yet the waiters have room to improve their friendliness. The food needs to be prepared more quickly, though once it is prepared it is definitely delicious.

They have good food here, The food is not great like other places that I have visited but its good. I feel like that its pretty much the same type of cuisines you can find in other restaurants.
