Went during lunch, very slow service, the place was so cramped that the guy sitting at the table next to me was hitting our table. The sushi was way over priced and the rolls were TINY. Not only were they small but the fish didnt even go all the way through the roll, it was like a m&m sized piece of fish in the roll. My friend got the sushi regular and received avocado rolls and other really cheap pieces. It's hard to comment on the quality since the fish was so small I could hardly taste it. Before we left, we went to tell the chef and he laughed at us and then we told the host and he didnt care either. NEVER GO!

Pros: None

Cons: EVERYTHING

This place will have some sushi that you've never heard of before. The quality is excellent and very fresh. I ordered the chef tasting plate, and everything was great. The prices are expensive but it goes without saying because you are paying for the quality of fish and freshness.
We were one of the last customers to be seated for the night on a Friday, in the middle of our meal the staff was ready to push us out the door with our chopsticks in our mouths so they could start closing. I would advise you on going much earlier than closing time if you don't want to be "pushed" out.

The other bad experience we had was that we requested no wasabi on any of our fish, lo and behold our fish had wasabi on it. Even though it?s real wasabi, it?s nice not to have any wasabi masking the real flavors of the fish.

As for food-wise, definitely some of the best sushi I've had for the price; the service has plenty of room for improvement though.

Pros: Excellent food, very fresh fish, excellent quality fish

Cons: Slightly expensive but worth it, staff was pushing us out the door, messed up order

Went for dinner, ordered a delux sushi plate. The sushi had way too much wasabi for my taste. I asked the waitress to replace it, or help find a way to rectify the situation. All she would say is "Nooo, not possible." I asked to speak to the manager, who took his sweet time coming over, and he basically repeated the same thing--then said in so many words; You don't know what you're talking about, tough luck. Deal with it. The chef is from Tokyo, he knows how to make good sushi. His only recommendation was to scrape off the wasabi. He wouldn't even bother to give me fresh rice. My dinner partner and I got the check, paid (they did take off $12), and got out of there asap. All they had to do was try to be accomodating. Instead, they were rude, inflexible and arrogant. There's hundreds of sushi restaurants in NYC, I'd recommend anywhere else. ****UPDATE: called to complain to the owner and she promptly refunded my meal.

DO NOT GO THERE! We waited an hour and a half for sushi. (raw fish) The place was not even full! We were never told when the food was coming out or why it was taking so long. When it finally did come, it was wrong. We had specifically said at least three times NO wasabi in the rolls. We had to wait another 15 minutes for new sushi. We were almost done eating when the waiter finally came by to check on us. Our drinks sat empty, but our plates were cleared with food still on it. When we complained we were given an apology and two sodas on the house, not an offer for dessert, or a round of drinks, or anything else. This is despite the fact that our meager portion of dinner had cost over $100. IT WAS AWFUL!

There is nothing special about the place, as the food, service and atmosphere are all mediocre. Add this to the overpricing of everything, and its easy to keep on walking. There are too many other good sushi places in the city and within distance of Sushiann, like Naniwa for example which is much more authentic.

Pros: close to Park Avenue

Cons: Average in wall ways, Too expensive

went here for a corporate lunch; good place, good selection, authentic without a doubt. very overpriced and very droll. dont take clients or a girlfriend here if you want to make a 'bangup' impression. but i guess (with the exception of sushi samba at night), most sushi places tend to lack 'atmosphere'
