FREE INTRODUCTORY CLASS - Tako our FREE introductory hands-on class. This no boring lecture. You'll be shaking up Apple Martinis, Alabama Slammers, and Margaritas to name a few. Review course materials, meet our friendly instructors and see first hand what makes a great bartending school. FREE introductory classes offered Saturdays or Sundays 5pm - 7pm. We also offer FREE refresher classes for all graduates.
These guys and gals at DrinkMaster are great. You tell them the job you'd like and they'll help you get it. Job postings are lame anyway. The best bars never advertise, you just have to show up with skills (just like they said).
Ask for the job. So I did. My manager has been very pleased with the skills I possessed because of my training at DrinkMaster.
I felt very prepared to interview because of the pre-game they taught me and how to tell the managers the stuff they needed to know about me. I'm working at Bertucci's in Newton and loving it.
Stop by and see me, I'm Roman. You'll be glad you did.
Oh lastly, I just signed up both my daughter and son to the DrinkMaster program. I just plunked down $600 dollars because it's the best investment I can make in helping my kids get ahead. Do what they tell you to do. It works.

I don't know how this school compares to others in Boston but I chose Drinkmasters because of the promises to help you get a job. Their database of jobs is pretty much the same as craigslist and after taking the catering class I still have not heard back from them about "applying" for a job with them. I graduated a few months ago and I am still not working. They talk a great talk but if you think they are going to get you a job they won't. The class is hands on and it was a lot of fun and I feel like I learned a lot but I still don't know because no one will hire with out previous experience.

Drinkmaster made this my best summer yet! And I just started my new job at Bar Louie with ANOTHER Drinkmaster grad. Come on down to see us. Thanks for teaching us how to do multiple drinks all at the same time. People can't believe we haven't bartended before. Melanie and I met at Red Robin and we really hit it off. You really got us ready for the bar by the methods of training and mad drink drills at class. You guys are the best. Anthony, Jeff, Jesse and Mike. You made all the difference and I recommend drinkmaster all the time.. Thank you!

My daughter absolutely rants and raves about this school. After every class she would go on and on about how much fun she had and how much she learned. She couldn't have been more delighted with all the help from the staff there.
The staff at the school was very supportive and helpful in getting her a job. I'm happy with that.

Despite spending all money on every course they offer.. you get nothing in return. They talk a good talk but give you nothing back!! All these promises of job placement.. bogus!! They don't hire you for their very seldom events. Should of gone to another place which shows you current drinks not old school !!!

Just finished up the DrinkMaster course. It's sooo much more than you can imagine. The teachers were so enthusiastic. To prove my point, I just got a job at Haru in Boston Come on down and see me.
The manager knew DrinkMaster and the rest was easy.
Best thing I did all year! Check out DrinkMaster, they're simply the best!
Pros: Best Staff EVER

I see many people are posting reviews for DrinkMaster. Reviewing a company is not something I usually do. But I think I can safely speak for my fellow classmates that the DrinkMaster instructors went above and beyond for us. I just felt compelled to say something as they took such good care of me. It's the least I can do.

I was so impressed when i first walked into the door at DrinkMaster Bartending School. The atmosphere was set so much like an actual bar and when i was performing drink drills, I felt what its like being a real bartender. If you live in the Boston area and are looking to take bartending classes, go with the pros down at DrinkMaster.

I have to say I really enjoyed DrinkMaster's Bartending course...the environment is really fun and it is set up like a real bar. It is very hands on and very informative. The scheduling is super flexible too, and they really are there to help. The music is great, and the instructors were so encouraging. I am glad I took the course, and can't wait to start bartending in a real bar!
Pros: Everybody loves it

I loved Drinkmaster Bartending school the instructes are knowledgeable and fun and you learn so much in just a short amount of time. I was sad when my class was over because i wanted to go back again and again! The Catering 101 is also fun and easy and I didn't want to leave that class either!
Pros: teaches are fun and enthusiastic
Cons: the week goes by to fast!!

I was so impressed with DrinkMaster Bartending School. At first i was nervous about bartending, but after graduating, i feel so comfortable! I enjoyed the authentic bar set up. I wouldnt have been able to get the same experience anywhere else. It is so great that they offer free refresher courses too. I've been going back everyweek just to master the details.

DrinkMaster offers a great course. I loved the practical, hands-on experience and the fact that so much of it actually took place behind the bar. Feeling the way the bottles and glasses move behind the bar really helped me feel confident in my skill. Working with a variety of instructors was great too because I got to see different approaches so that I could figure out the best style and technique to use in my own experience. I would recommend this course to anyone who is serious about starting to bartend in Boston.

I am very pleased that I decided to take the course at Drinkmaster! I had bartended before but I did not know all I needed to get the job done efficiently. They taught me everything from knowing which glass to serve a drink in to cutting fruit.
The teachers were awesome too! The feel of actually being behind a real fully stocked bar and getting hands on training was great. Since I have graduated, I landed a job at the Red Fez in Boston. I would recomend DrinkMaster to anyone interested in bartending!

I just got hired at the Middlesex Lounge in Cambridge a week after I took the bartending classes. I had three job offers but decided to go with this one because their bar has a good reputaion. DrinkMaster really helped me pull my resume together and even tolled me with some good places to apply to. Thanks DrinkMaster!

**I just completed the master bartending class at DrinkMaster Bartending School in Boston, and I learned so much more than I thought was possible in such little time. The instructors were knowledgeable, friendly, and so willing to help us learn. Anytime one of the instructors shared their experience, tricks, and advice it was so helpful and it made me feel more prepared. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone. Whether it is just for fun, or you really are looking to become a bartender, DrinkMaster is there to help no matter the case!!

DrinkMaster offers everything a bartending school needs. Great downtown location, great flexible hours, awesome teachers and facilities and a good price. No doubt about it, the best bartending school of boston.
Posted 02/23/09
I enjoyed taking the DrinkMaster bartending class so much, it was such a great experience! I learned a great deal and also had a lot of fun. I immediately felt comfortable asking questions and getting feedback on my technique. I can?t wait to come back in for the catering class. DrinkMaster is the best and I would definitely recommend this bartending school to anyone and everyone!

I'm amazed how DrinkMaster can teach such an amazing course and still be so damn cheap. No complaints here! The tips I make at my job in a week can pay for half a class's enrolment fee. If that doesn't convince you to go here, I don't know what will.

My instructor Anthony made everyone feel relaxed and had us all rolling on the floor laughing but still kept the classes very professional. They really had the entire bar environment down from the lighting to the music. DrinkMaster is for sure the ?top-shelf? Bartending School in Boston.

I was a little nervous coming right out of this bartending course with no experience and expecting to land a job. However, the job coaching staff at DrinkMaster gave me so many interviewing tips and helped me make my beautiful resume. They were flexible about meeting too which was a plus since I?m a student at Suffolk. DrinkMaster is not only the best in Boston, but the best in New England!
Posted 02/11/09
Stepping behind the bar at DrinkMaster felt like I was on the job! It was great practice for when I got my first bartending job not too long after. What these guys teach you will no doubt land you a bartending job in Boston. Two of my friends just signed up for classes the other day.
Pros: The closest thing to an actual bar experience
Cons: None!

When I called DrinkMaster I asked a lot of questions. I felt like I was being sold. They spent more time talking about other schools than their own. So I visited them and still felt the same way so I also looked into and visited a few others. I was much more impressed with the "other school" and I enrolled there instead.

I just completed the course at DrinkMaster bartending school and I had a great time! It was awesome to actually get behind the bar and get an authentic bartending experience. I had Anthony as an instructor, and he made the class fun and amusing. Overall, I was very impressed and my expectations were exceeded.

I graduated from DrinkMasters bartending school a couple of months ago. I was nervous to start classes because I had no previous experience at bartending. However, my anxiety quickly went away after only a few minutes of being in the class. The instructors were so approachable and treated everyone with respect. I thought it was good to be taught by 3 different instructors because it helped me gain more insight through a variety of suggestions, and ideas. The course was a lot of fun, and at the same time, I have learned so much. I definitely recommend this course!

I'm a teacher, and I am looking to bartend on the side. I visited another bartending school and immediately could see the difference in "teaching". Drinkmaster instructors are "teachers" as well as great barenders. I want to thank them for being so patient with me but also, challenging me to perform skills I never thought I could. I love martinis', and now I can make them 3 at time.
I didn't know a thing about wine until now. I can choose, pronounce, present and open any bottle of wine. (my boyfriend was blown away) I can't stop smiling.
They actually sat with me to go over my "interview strategy" and helped me re-write my resume to create something that is truly me and I show it to everyone. Thanks guys!
You continue to far exceed my expectations.

I've never written one of these, but drinkmaster deserves one. I graduated drinkmaster a little over a year ago and everything has been amazing since. I felt like I was already bartending for years when I left their course. They got me my first couple of jobs where I learned what it was like with actual customers. After that I started getting jobs at bigger events and even private parties. I have worked at bars, clubs, weddings, graduations etc. Their staff is always there if you need advice on getting a job or you just need to practice for a little bit. Thanks to DrinkMaster I am now making in a 4 hour shift of bartending more than I make in a week at my 9-5! I highly recommend this school for anybody looking for a warm staff, great learning environment, AND LOOKING TO HAVE FUN!
Cons: Parking is a pain, but so is everywhere in Boston
Posted 09/28/08
First of all, I don't usually write these things, ..........but after having completed the Drinkmaster program, I'm so thankful for the experience and I just have to share.
It's so nice to contact the drinkmaster crew by phone and always speak to a well informed member at the office. My schedule was great and I thought it would be a pain because I had to miss some of the nights I signed up for. Very accomidating. No hidden catch. Just solid professionalism and I feel like I learned more than I did in my four years of college.
I practiced to my hearts content, I attended classes (I felt like i had the keys to the place)
Thanks to the whole crew there at winter st. They truly exceeded my expectations.

I'm new to Boston and I needed a job asap. I've always wanted to bartend, so I figured why not just go for it and enrolled in their weeknight classes. Upon arriving I was greated at the door by two extremely friendly staff members, and one adorable puppy (the school mascot).
Immediately, the people at DrinkMaster made me feel at home and comfortable in my new city. I also made some new friends amongst fellow students. The whole program, start to finish, was worth every penny. By the time the week was completed I felt like I had been bartending for years! I'm amazed at how effective the program was. The instructors were excellent, the material was current, and the facility made me feel like I was in a real bar. When the course concluded the staff sat down with me one-on-one and coached me on interviewing techniques and updating my resume. The personal attention was impressive and way more then I expected.
I graduated just over three weeks ago and I start my new bartending job this Thursday!!!! I'm loving the confidence this course gave me, and I'm so excited to be bartending in Boston. Thank you so much DrinkMaster. I'm already recommmending your school to anyone that will listen!

So many positive things to say about the staff at DrinkMaster. I received such a solid foundation at the school. My bartending co-workers couldn't believe that I had learned as much as I did. The bottom line is the committment of the Drinkmaster staff to their students is unsurpassed. After I graduated they rewrote my resume and coached me on exactly how to get a job. Every step of the way they gave me and from what I saw all of my classmates the support we all needed. They know what topics are important to cover in order to land a job. I am very grateful to Jeff, Jesse, Anthony, Jason and Fiona. Without them I wouldn't be making over $300 cash a night bartending.
I demonstrated enough to get a job and also to influence my manager to send a couple of his bartenders to take the DrinkMaster course.
If you have questions call them. Go visit and they will take care of you.
Pros: Committed Staff... They focus on getting their students bartending jobs.

I took a course here a few months ago and I thought it was okay, but not amazing. I barely learned anything about wines and beers, which is VERY important if you are going to work in a restaurant (most bars in Boston serve food also, unlike in NYC). They did a good job of teaching the common cocktails that you need to know. I think there could have been some aspects of the course to make it stronger. First, they didn't ask for feedback after the course to see what could have been improved. That is not a good sign. Second, as I mentioned, they spent way too little time on wines. Learning regions, varietals and pairing is really key in my opinion. It's not just about how to make Lemon Drops for a bunch of drunk college kids. Boston is a pretty high-end market and even sports bars take their food pretty seriously -- which means they want folks that know wines and beers. There could have also been more information about working as a bartender in a restaurant, to give students new to the industry an understanding of your overall responsibilities. Another key improvement - and I have no idea if other schools offer this - is to practice taking and completing orders using a live Point of Sale (POS) system. Lastly, I think they gave very little information on breaking into the industry. This is strategic, and let me tell you why: very few places will hire someone that has done "the course" but has not experience as a bartender. While this my sound discouraging, it is true most of the time. You're probably not going to get that first bartending job if you don't work up from a server/barback, or know an owner/manager that can hook you up. In conclusion, I would recommend two things if you are looking at bartending schools. One - research schools well and find one that takes a serious approach to more than just cocktails. Two - know before signing up for any course that you probably won't get hired to a bar just because you have the course under your belt.

The whole program they have over there is impressive. They give us step by step instructions that are organized and easy to follow and the smaller class size means we each get much more attention. Tomorrows my last day at DrinkMaster and then I get to go out and put my new bartending expertise to use. I can't wait.
Pros: very convenient location and impressive school as a whole
Cons: none

Well I got a deal! I?ve already made back in bartending tips what the course cost me! Plus, I actually really enjoyed it. Taking DrinkMaster was one of the best decisions I've made.
Posted 02/29/08
I absolutely got the most bangfor my buck. I did my research comparing bartending schools in the Boston area before picking one and DrinkMaster's rate was excellent, especially when considering how much more class time you get. Since my class I?ve also been able to go back and practice several times for free.
Pros: price, length of classes, can always com back to practice
Posted 02/29/08
Before I went to DrinkMaster I didn?t have a clue on how to make a drink. I was amazed at how quickly I learned this new trade. The bartending tips they offered me in how to remember different drink recipes really worked. They've helped me numerous times in the bar I currently work at.
Pros: Helpful tips
Posted 02/28/08
I think I can safely speak for everyone who?s gone to DrinkMaster when I say that the school was well worth the cost and the hours spent in class. I would be leaving a large tip if I were a customer at any of my instructor?s bars. They beat my college professors hands down. I give them an A+.
Posted 02/28/08
I thought it was so generous of them to take the time to offer a free introductory class. It was a really great opportunity for me to get a taste of what the real bartending experience is like. I?m really excited to start a class at this school.
Pros: free introductory class

Thanks for bringing tons of fun to the classroom and for all your patience. You guys have a fantastic bartending program.
Cheers!
