One caveat -- I've only been to Black Market Bistro for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. But I've always had a delicious meal, and the atmosphere can't be beat. The restaurant is in an old Victorian home that also holds the Garrett Park Post Office. The rooms are very simply decorated, almost austere, and flooded with natural light from the large windows. The service is excellent, attentive and welcoming without being overbearing. The menu isn't huge, but isn't it better to have a smaller selection that is well-executed? The food is delicious and while you will see familiar friends (eggs benedict, for example) you will also find more creative dishes. While the staff has always welcomed my children, I would not recommend this restaurant if you have loud or very active children, just because the rooms are small and fairly quiet, so not-so-well-behaved children are more likely to be disruptive than in a larger, louder restaurant. While I have not been here for dinner, my friends who have enjoyed it immensely and returned several times.
