I can't help being shocked by one of the reviews on here!
I absolutely LOVE this place. It is one of the most relaxing nail salons that I have been to in Chicago.
Most nail salons (Asian or American) that I've been to are riddled with unrelaxing noises and leave me wondering if I'll leave there with nail fungus, bacterial infection, or plantar warts! Often they're playing Jerry Springer or some less than interesting talk show on the T.V. The drills are buzzing away and leaving a film of nail dust on everything you see. Plus, I've only been to a handfull that actually wear gloves like this place always does!

Chicago Nail Club is a step above the standard nail salon! It is a wonderfully relaxing place to come for a manicure/pedicure. They create a serene ambiance and I feel like I'm actually at a spa. Everything is very orderly, streamlined, and very clean. All the technician's wear gloves for the pedicures! I love picking out the sented bath salts (jasmine is my favorite) and feel that they use high quality products as well. I've never had a manicure that I wasn't happy with. I frequent them regularly and I find the staff to be very kind, helpful, and talented. They also play movies instead of cable T.V. which I find more relaxing. Plus, they are located next to my favorite bakery Bittersweet on Belmont. I prefer my experience here to the Red Door downtown. Plus, they are much more reasonably priced than some of the higher end salons and just a tad more expensive than some of the less expensive ones.

At Chicago Nail Club you'll have a relaxing experience and recieve a great mani/pedi at an affordable price. Plus, you won't feel like you're sacrificing your health for beautiful hands and feet!

Yes, it looks nice and fancy in that place ....never judge a book by it's cover! My girlfriend who always does my nails just moved to Dallas. So I needed my nails done and thought, wow this looks like a neat nail place. The staff were very snotty to say the least! I told the lady that I wanted a fill- not a full set. She did a fill and charged me $40! This is an "Asian" nail place, they use the cheapest nail products to begin with and most only charge $25 for a fill- $35-$40 for a full set. What a rip-off! My girlfriend informed me of the following "Red Flags" for getting nails done (this salon had ALL of these):

* If they don't offer pink and white nails- LEAVE! This means that they are lazy and NOT high-end (using the cheapest products).

* If they don't drill under your nails to get rid of yellow discoloration.

* Nails should be thin comperable to your real nails- not thick feeling (they didn't file them flat enough).

* The primer they apply between your cuticle and old acrylic nail should be applied 3 times- not one!

* Most if not ALL Asian-ran nail salons use the cheapest products that are carcinogenic. Have you ever noticed that in most of them the employees are wearing masks over their nose and mouth???

In the end of this fiasco the lady had the audacity to ask me about a tip! I replied: "your tip is included in that $40 fill-in." I'm following my girlfriends' advice and sticking to the upper-end "American-ran" salons- they charge the same and your nails will look AMAZING!

Pros: Beautiful looking salon- looks upscale.

Cons: Horrible looking nails, over priced and snotty staff members.

I really enjoyed CNC. The customer service was really nice. The atmosphere was great. I didn't feel like I was being rushed. I received a pedicure and it was reasonably priced ( $35 w/ tip). The pedicure wasn't perfect, but I could tell that the lady had done her best to make it look good. All in all a great place to get a relaxing pedicure.

I received a gift certificate for CNC for my birthday last year. I moved during the course of the year so I was unable to use the gift certificate. I was in chicago for the weekend and I went in to use the gift certificate. The girl who did my pedicure was rude to me the entire time and then I went up to the desk to use the gift certificate and they would not allow me to redeem it because it was expired by a couple days. The expiration date was written in so it's not like their computers wouldn't accept it and the desk girl was rude to me. I ended up losing a $40 gift certificate and having to pay for my awful pedicure. I will never go back to the CNC. The nail place one block down is way better and cheaper.

Cons: Rude Staff, Quality of Work is Below Average

I can't say enough good things about CNC. First, the place is immaculate. They offer you a drink when you sit down, always ask how they are doing and if you are happy with your service, and they have all the different sea salts available to you. Just a really service-oriented nail spa. I love the decor, the atmosphere (quiet, except for the movie playing on the plasma wall tv) and how they bring you a magazine if you forget to take one while you're getting your pedi. Absolutely love love love this place - and I have tried a LOT of nail places.

They are very professional here. They offer you drinks (free of course) I got a bottle of diet coke. My manicure was $17, but during the week its $2 less, so $15. They did a really nice job, and the huge plasma is great for watching movies while getting the nails done. I watched Rumer Has It and then Serendipity. Great Place

I had hight hopes for CNC. I'm a longtime fan of Nail Bar and am always on the lookout for new nail salons. The atmosphere is great; the room is light and airy and I did enjoy the constant chick-flicks on the television. I received the cheapest ($40!) mani-pedi that I've found in Chicago. I must conclude that their prices are so low because the quality of their work is so run-of-the-mill. The hand and foot massages were okay at best and now, four days later my manicure is chipped and peeling. I'll give CNC one more chance and then go back to Nail Bar.

I am newly obsessed with CNC! They treat you like a princess there! My french manicure was the best and cheapest (22) that I have had in the city! The scented salts for your hands are so nice, they offer you a plethora of fresh made drinks including fresh fruit sangria and a varierty of specialty teas (I had vanilla cream tea- so delicious). They also give you a GREAT hand massage and hot towels. A huge flat screen faces the manicure area that shows chick-flicks all day long. I will be back for sure!
