it's literally a whole in the wall, simple menu, but it's my favorite thai place. You can specify how hot you want your curry and she will make it so. It's a gem. Don't miss it for lunch.

When I moved from the westside to the northside there were few things I was going to miss as much as Picante. Much to my pleasure, the restaurant followed me less than a year later. The scrumptiousness of their food is hard to express - it's simple but decadent. As a vegetarian I have a hard time finding Mexican restaurants that serve food I'll eat that doesn't weigh me down, both literally and figuratively. The black bean tacos are great without causing too much guilt.
The guacamole can be a gamble - when avocados are not in season they tend to use too much filler, as many restaurants do - but when it's good, it's very good. I order it almost every time I'm there.
My only large complaint would be the the inconsistency in delivery. Sometimes when I call they'll deliver to me, sometimes I'm told I'm outside their delivery range (by a block). Lately they haven't had a driver. If they clear this up, they'll be set.

Pros: food, price

Cons: delivery inconsistently available, small seating area (more of a take out place)
