This place was a blast. Never before have i been to a bar like this. It was an amazing time. As far as what the other review wrote. The management staff was great. We had an issue with getting a table, but they took care of it for us right away. The only person there with tatoo's was the door guy. The reviewer must have something out for the guy. This place is a great bar. If you want a fun night of enjoyment with your friends, you gotta check this place up. Its truely is amazing.

I had such a great time at Jake Ivorys this weekend, and heard this guy Dave Weissman who is one of the piano players there. He was amazing. A whole bunch of us came out in the unbelievable snow storm for my friend's birthday, and he played every song we requested! There was also another piano player sitting across from him named Craig who played "I'll be there" by the Jackson 5, and brought 5 guys up to the stage to sing to our friend sitting on the piano. Needless to say, we had a great time!

From what I heard, it was a slow night at Jake Ivory's- and I'm not surprised considering the weather, but there were still a LOT of people there. Despite the "smaller" crowd, David and Craig didn't relax at all! They kept everyone going and played non-stop all night! The song styles could switch at any moment! They played rap, rock, pop, blues,.. they'll play ANYTHING you ask for. They'll yell out your name and let everyone know you requested the song- and sometimes bring you, or whoever, up onto the stage to dance and shake a tambourine!

Jake Ivorys was a great time! I give it 5 stars, and I'll definitely be back soon! Bravo, Craig and Dave Weissman !

Pros: Dave Weissman, Great Music, 3 Bars, Strong Drinks, Good Service, High Energy

Cons: Usually a lot of people, No Food, Hard to Park

only go here if you want your personal belongings stolen by the people that work there. if you let your jacket, sweatshit, etc out of your sight for a minute the people who work there grab it up. at the end of the night they supposely put them in a pile by the door on the way out like its some elementary school lost and found. its like a clothes free for all. they do it on purpose so people will use their coat check. only problem is it keeps people from back in general. a good time at this bar is ruined by shady management. them manager is some short little guy with tatoos who mouths off to patrons while hiding behind his body guards. its no wonder there are atleast 2 cops staioned outside this bar every night.

Arrived in limo with 16 girls for a surprise bachelorette party. Great deal on a package for front of line admission, x-rated cake, table and own waitress.
The atmosphere is perfect for a fun laid back night. Duel pianos, play just about anything the crowd requests. Its great how into it the crowd gets. They get everyone really into the dancing. Drinks are alittle expensive and the bathrooms are smalll, but otherwise I would definately recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out.

Nestled in between hot dance clubs Tequila Rain and the Axis on Lansdowne Street, Jake Ivory?s brings back classic entertainment from days gone by with its dueling pianos churning out the tunes all night long. But don?t expect any ragtime music! These talented pianists who double as the singers perform pop to hip-hop, from Sir Mix-A-Lot?s ?Baby Got Back? to Boston classics like Neil Diamond?s ?Sweet Caroline.? And despite the lack of DJ, there?s arguably just as much dancing going on at this club as any of the others on Lansdowne. Only real downsides: occasional long lines at the bar and lack of places to sit down once you get tired from dancing.

My wife and I were there on a Friday night and the place was packed. Great crowd with a good vibe...a bunch of bachelorette parties (all partying to the max)...good service, but the best part was the music. The dueling piano show was not only different from anything I've seen around the city, but a tremendous crowd pleaser. The whole club was roaring, with folks singing along to an amazing variety of tunes. I don't know how they pulled all of them off with just piano and drums, but it worked and everyone loved it. The entertainers really knew their stuff, you couldn't stump them, and they played tunes from every era and genre imaginable. There was a team of player/singers including a cute blond with a great voice and a ton of energy who really added to the show. She got the crowd involved from the beginning and they kept it going all night . I would definitely check this out as an alternative to the usual clubs that seem to be all attitude and no fun.

Dueling piano bar with a great crowd and decent drinks prices for Boston, can't go wrong... Whatever your vice is, drinks with pals or just marveling at how these guys no so many songs, beautiful girls, this place really is the most fun, complete bar in Boston, don't miss it...

"All squares go home!" If you want to hear virtually any song you desire, just send up your request, with a little inducement, and get up and dance to the music. If the crowd doesn't like it, your selection may be "outbid" by a more generous patron. Its raucous fun, and the whole drunken joint is jumpin' to the beat of Rock N' Roll piano. Its true. If you don't have a good time, it's your own damn fault! Jake isn't a cheap date, but he is worth it. See rising star, Jarret Izzo, and tell your grandchildren you saw him perform in an intimate club, before he was famous. "Man, what are you doing here?" Musicologist Craig McMahan is amazing. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.

Cons: Can get crowded. Not for cheapskates.

I went to Jake Ivory's on Lansdowne for St. Patty's Day, didnt want to go but my friends dragged me along saying how good of a time it is, and there would be girls everywhere. The show started off pretty good, i was more impressed with the $2 miller highlife beers personaly. But then a group of 20 girls came in and sat down right next to us for some bachalorette party, me and my buddies where in heaven. The show picked up when they played sweet home alabama and the place errupted, before i knew it ,it was like 130am and half the staff was up on stage singing save a horse ride a cowboy! Started talking to this guy at the bar who turned out to be one of the managers and he hooked me and my buddies up with free passes at the end of the night. Going back this friday for some college party!

I went to Jake Ivorys the past 2 saturdays and had a BLAST! The music is great because you get to control the show and what gets played. The fish bowls are the best and the service was great. Even the security staff plays instruments!!! A big plus is the amount of women...there are always a ton!!! I suggest checking this place out...i promise you will have a good time!!!

FALSE ADVERTISING! They told us that there would be a $25 open bar from 9 to 12. They let in so many people that it was impossible to get to the bar. At 11pm they closed the open bar because they claimed that everyone had consumed $4200 dollars worth of alcohol. They then began to charge for drinks. It was a fine time until that happened but I wouldn't recommend it, if you have other options go somewhere else!

I've never met ruder employees in my life. The bouncers are extremely proud of their incredible ability to take away fake ID's, or even real ones. Couldn't have been more on a power trip. We had rented out the place for a formal, meaning everyone entering had already paid. So I don't know how they can legitimize not letting people in because they think they're too rude. They gave every single person trouble with their ID's, even those who weren't showing over-21 IDs. I have never had so much trouble at the door. If you want wait in line to deal with the rudest people I've ever met, Jake Ivory's is the place for you. But I would never ever recommend it for any sort of function. I could not attend my own formal because my attitude wasn't polite enough. I cannot believe someone would run a business this way.

I have always had an absolute blast at Jake's. I simply can't imagine not having a great time there. The crowd is always fun and lively, the staff friendly and courteous, and the entertainmemt is a group of tremendously talented people doing something they obviously love. Yes, it gets crowded, but the crowd is part of the fun. My wife and I have been going for years every time we get to Boston and everyone we've taken has returned on their own. I'd never miss it. I haven't yet had one of those 64 oz. beers, but next time, definitely. You should absolutely not miss an evening at Jake's.

I went to Jake's with over a dozen people, and it may have been the first time I've gone somewhere where literally everybody had an amazing time, to the point that we were planning our next visit before we left. It works for big groups or just a handful of people. The place was full, but we always had plenty of room to dance, and we got our drinks from the smaller side bar and didn't have to wait. The music was phenomenal, and the shockingly talented piano players do a great job of keeping the action moving on the dancefloor. If you want a night of partying and belting out great songs that you know the words to, Jake's is the place to go. It was just a genuinely great time and I can't recommend it highly enough.

don't go here. trust me. the pianos are cool for about 5 minutes, and afterwards it's just watered-down versions of songs that sound better on the radio. pianists take requests, but only if you give huge tips. service is awful. bouncers are masshole tough guys. there are plenty of bars in the area where you ought to go instead, including a couple that are right next door.

Wanted to have a great bachelorette experience for my best friend. Reserved a table at $20 a person. The tables weren't seperated from the rest of the club, and by 10pm, we couldn't even sit at the table we paid for because it was so packed. We couldn't dance, we could barely breathe. Our server would take drinks sitting on the table before we were even finished with them. Piano players were more interested in getting tips than playing good songs or even requests. And to top it all off, I was WAY over charged for my party and reservation. It has been 2 weeks, and Jake Ivory's has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT. I am out almost $200, and these people haven't done a thing to try to fix the situation and when you try to call them all you get are answering machines. DO NOT GO TO JAKE IVORY'S. IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD.

I'm really annoyed with this place. I wanted to give my sister an awesome and fun bachelorette, but our visit was crappy from beginning to end. The staff were rude the music terrible, everything was overpriced and the vibe was totally off. we did salvage the night by heading elsewhere but definitely wasted time and money... which is a shame because w/ everything closing at 2 in this town... it's not like we had tons of time to make up for a really slow and uninspiring start.

My 21+ year old friends were hassled about their id's and when we walked in the atmosphere was lousy, the musicians were sub par and there were almost as much security there as there were patrons. People around us as well as ourselves were tapped on the shoulder and were asked to show our bracelets b/c we had drinks in our hands. My friend was 21 and he had his legit id taken bc the security guards were being a little too strict, this place is 19+ but being 21 is hardly worth the time and energy you spend getting in.To top it off there is still a cover. The atmosphere was a bunch of yuppy BC kids who look like they've never made it off campus before. Overall is was a bad experience between the atmosphere and too much security it was like they didnt want people to have fun!

Definitely something to experience in Boston, but loses it's appeal after the first time. A lot of fun if you're into the piano bar scene, but can get cheesy after a little while. Great to start the night out, there's no cover on Thursdays. Also depends on who's at the piano. Not too active though, mostly just sitting or hanging out and singing along. Not much dancing.

I really enjoyed the red and blue pianos. They were not only neat looking, but you can also look at them. Plus I liked the piano players. They were great to hear AND listen to. The 64 oz beers were like breakfast in bed. They wet my whistle like a heart attack to dick chaney. All in all, I would definitely maybe go to this place.

I heard great things about this place, but I really wasn't that impressed. I thought the piano music would be better and was expecting a better atmosphere. The cover charge sucked, and the atmosphere wasn't much different from a typical loud, raccous college bar. I did like the large 24 oz bottles of beer which were decently priced, but that was the one high point. I don't think I'll be going back.

This is sucha great bar -- you get great, decently priced drinks, friendly staff, amazing music by two really talented musicians, and drunken dancing/singing. Go with a group and you'll all feel like rockstars -- gets hot when it's crowded - so if it's winter time, wear a t-shirt underneath your coat so you can de-layer!!! Such a blast - one of my favorite Boston places

This Bar is one of the best places i've ever been to in Boston. The atmosphere is unreal. Mixed crowds on most nights and lots of bachelorette parties. The Piano players are fun, energenic and outgoing and really keep the place rocking. It is small and gets VERY Crowded at times, but i think that makes for a unique and fun atmosphere. I Highly recommend you get here at least once. Preferably on a Saturday.

This place is great. They have everything you want in a piano bar, cold beer and hot lights. The piano players are not the stuffy piano players you imagine from the movies. They are entertainers who sing, dance, and do anything to get the crowd going. They play rock 'n roll. Songs you thought never belonged on a piano are played as if they belong there. Go, enjoy, and bring some money so you can request them to play "Devil Went Down to Georgia!" Have fun!!!

Pros: great music, atmosphere, value

Cons: crowded, over ontoxication, loud

Jake Ivory's has a great atmosphere. The singing and playing of pianos makes the evening! Their beer is farely inexpensive, but the drinks are a little high. Overall great weekend fun!

Cons: CROWDED, FEW WAITRESSES

This dueling paino bar right next to Fenway is a great place to go before or after a Red Sox game. Complete with saw dust on the floor, this place is great to hang out with friends and strangers as everyone sings along to classic songs. In additon, you can request songs. It is a great place to drink and just have fun. If your from Boston, you'll appreciate the Homegirl song they sing--it's hiralious. Try to get here early though because it gets very crowded and the line to get in is over an hour long.
