Food, our waiter, and atmosphere were great. Too bad I can't say the same thing for customer service when it came time to honor the coupon we brought in that came in the mail through Valpak. A gift certificate and the coupon were what had us trying this place since we had never been there before. Even though the coupon lists all three House of Hunan locations in Fairlawn, Medina, and Downtown Akron and states: (Dine In and Fairlawn Location Only), the waiter told us we couldn't use it. We asked the manager about it on the way out, telling him if they weren't going to honor them at the Medina location they need to change their advertising coupon. He just shrugged and smiled and said it couldn't be used there, still no further explanation in spite of what the coupon said. I then said I guess we need to take it up with 'Corporate', to which he replied, "There IS no corporate!" Really??? Wow...great customer service over a free eggroll and soup to go along with the full lunch we ate. And, again, we were first-time customers. Now we will be last-time customers, too, over the lousy response and attitude, no matter how good the food was!

Being a vegetarian, it's hard to find a restaurant that serves vegetarian entrees, let alone one that serves 'delicious' vegetarian entrees. But, this place is wonderful! I had never been there before so I did not know what to expect. I had the "Homestyle Tofu" and really did not expect anything really special. But, I was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious and the amount of tofu given to me was a generous portion. The tofu was cooked like the chef knew how it was to be cooked. The veggies were not mushy, and the fried rice did not sit like a lead-weight in your stomach. Not only were there delicious vegetarian entrees, but great atmosphere, great decor, wonderful service and friendly people! On the down side, the bill was higher than the standard restaurant, but this restaurant is more 'high class' so you expect that. Don't forget to call ahead and make reservations though!

Pros: Lots of vegetarian options. Great service. Friendly people.

Cons: Cost. Reservations needed. Parking is on the street and can be hard to find.

Great food, atmosphere and service. They have it all! I love the slate walls, the waterfall. A very metropolitan feel. The lettuce wraps are fantastic!
