My family and I go here several times a year to see all the different plant life and new exhibts being built! We cannot wait for the children's area to open in the spring! We love the rose gardens especially!

These gardens are breath taking! Lots of room and paths for the kids to run and play on, beatiful flowers and plants. We love the Japanese Gardens with the big fish to feed. We cannot wait for the children's area to open in april! A great place to go with the whole family!

A tradition my mother and I have is that every spring, I take her to the Missouri Botanical Gardens, located in Forest Park on the Kingshighway side and we walk through the literally thousands of tulips in bloom.

It's free to walk through the gardens and look at the many different types of flowers in bloom. They've got a memorial to Veterans set up in the middle of one of the gardens that is absolute stunning.

A shoot off of the gardens is the Jewel Box, which is a popular setting for weddings and other receptions, so be prepared for a crowd on summer weekends, but definitely make the effort to see the hard work that goes in to making such a pretty setting.

These grounds are just beautiful and you can't beat free. This was such an amazing place to visit. All of the flours and trees and lanscaping they have done is just breathtaking. The only complaint is that we went in the summer and there is no where to take a break and cool off except for in the main building and on ebuilding at the end so it gets very hot and when you are out looking around and there is no relief around it is very frustrating. Would be a great place to visit in spring or fall.

I visited the gardens during the summer when they were having their Japanese festival. The gardens are immaculate, well organized, and expertly conveyed. There are tours you can take or you can walk alone. The tours are free and you can really learn a lot by taking one. It can get very hot and sticky during August, so I would avoid it during that time.

PROS: Beautiful
CONS: Uncomfortable during the hottest times of the year

The Missouri Botanical Gardens is one of the most beautiful places I have seen in ST. Louis. Besides viewing all of the gorgeous flowers and plants, they offer classes in gardening, cooking, floral design, and more. There is also a Japanese garden which, I think is breathtaking. If you love to walk and enjoy the view of nature, this is the place to be. You can also book this garden for parties and weddings. Imagine a wedding in the midst of all the beauty.
