Ratings_icons Bike and Roll Chicago- Millennium Park is Cheap Segways, Cheap Tour

Julie L.

Cheap Segways, Cheap Tour!

Wow, where do i start? We took this tour on the recommendations from our concierge at our hotel. Boy, she had it wrong and we let her know.

This company competes on price, knocking about $20 off the price of the other Segway companies, but it shows in everything they do. When we showed for our tour, they had misplaced our reservation, thereby they required us to charge our card again. It took a couple later calls to get this second charge reversed.

As for the tour, they gave us a young, inexperienced tour guide who was still in college and clearly did not know very much about her own city. Our Chicago native friend who came along with us counted 18 things stated incorrectly about Chicago. He actually started out correcting her, but then decided to keep his mouth shut as to not keep embarrassing her throughout the tour. Who knew that Lake Michigan didn't have any live fish in it?!?!?

As for the equipment, my husband recieved a segway with very little air in the right tire. We didn't figure this out until the first stop. We pointed it out to the guide but unfortunately, they said it would be fine and that it was no big deal. No big deal that his segway kept vearing to the right as we rode along.

There are a ton of companies doing segway tours in Chicago. I think we counted about 5 other tours doing the exact same thing as us. You might spend a little more money at another place, but I have to believe the your experience would be worth it.

Just my two sense.

Ratings_icons Bike and Roll Chicago- Millennium Park is a great place

We went on the segway tour and saw all the lakefront sites. The segways were a blast to ride and very easy to learn how to ride it. I would definitely come back and do it again

Ratings_icons Fun in the City

Ben C.

We rented two segways and took the lakefront trail. The segways were awesome. It was a lot of fun. Chicago is a great city and the segways were a great way to see it.

Ratings_icons excellent bike shop

bob s. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,479

A very good bike shop in a good location. Lots of parts are available here, and they're surprisingly well priced. Bike shops tend to be expensive, so I was glad to see one that didn't go overboard. Good staff too - they know bikes and can help you find the the part you need. Overall a very nice place for cycling enthusiasts, and a great place to pick up parts.

Ratings_icons Great selection and price!

Went there looking for inner tube for my mountain bike. I had a hard time finding this item at the chain stores. I thought it was going to cost me an arm and a leg but to my surprise, the prices were even better than I had expected and certainly on par with the chains and even online!
