This is a traditional Irish pub i.e. they won't make you an Irish Car Bomb. The food is wonderful, the beer is fresh, and the music is great. We usually go for Irish coffee and Spotted Dick (sponge cake with a caramel sauce). The staff is friendly. It's usually well attended but not too busy you can't get a seat at the bar. Best Fish and chips I've ever had.

Friendly atmoshere. When you're walking by, it is the kind of place that invites you in. People look like they are enjoying themselves. Staff is attentive and friendly. Food's good too.

The Celtic Knot is a nice Irish Pub with a good Irish food selection and sometimes it has entertainment. When we were there I had the Guinness Pasty, which is a puff pastry filled with Guinness braised beef. The beef was juicy, tasty, and tender. The others had the same but they also had pints of Guinness, which they said were yummy. The space is what I'd describe as upscale Irish pub. Celtic Knot delivered on good pub food and solid pint of Guiness.

A pint of Smithwicks, chips and curry, and sticky toffee pudding to die for! What more could you want? The Celtic Knot is totally and comfortable, perfect for settling in for a long night of drinking and chatting. I have been at least a dozen times and except for cold chips one night, have never had anything less than excellent service and food. Liz, Patrick Deb and Jamie are awesome!

If you want outstanding food - Shepherds Pie best than anywhere here or abroad, you have got to try this place. The Scottish Eggs were unbelievably good as was the sausage pasty and traditional chips and gravy. Decent beer selection as well!

Can't wait to make a return visit.

These people are friendly, courteous and glad you stopped in.

Im so excited The Celtic Knot moved in to downtown Evanston. Since it has opened I have not been able to stay away. The entree's, and deserts are to die for, and if you are looking for something more on the go, the pub grub is perfect. The staff make you feel like family, exactly why I would recommend the Celtic Knot to my friends and Family. I just Love it.

Friends and I stopped in for a quick bite, and have been weekly regulars ever since. The pub is adorable, and a pleasant reminder of past visits to Ireland, while the restaurant section is lovely (and a bit more formal). Guinness pints are perfectly built, and the food is fantastic! Go for dessert, or the recently added Scotch Eggs! Sunday Brunch will also leave you happily stuffed. We don't come back again and again just for the food though -- Celtic Knot proprietors Jamie and Deb are hard at work during the day, but never too busy to stop and chat. Everyone is fun and friendly, and for anyone missing the UK, there will be an accent or two to make you smile. It's a great pub to meet friends for a bite, a quick pint, or for a nice family dinner when the In-laws are in town!

My friends and I have consistently had great food at the Celtic Knot, new spot in Evanston. Great selection of beers and wines from around the world, the best fish and chips around, and amazing desserts. Don't miss Gail's sticky toffee pudding.

A small group of colleagues and I thought we'd try the celtic knot one night after work to celebrate a co-worker's new job. BIG mistake! First, the hostess panicked when we told her there were 6 of us--asking if we had made a reservation (the restaurant was near empty at the time). She managed to put a couple of tables together and seat us, but then our server couldn't seem to get things right. After spending well over $100 on dinner and drinks, we were RUDELY asked to leave because the table was needed. NOTE: There were several empty tables remaining in the restaurant, including a table for 6. Forget this place...they don't have their act together!
