Growing up this used to be the only library we visited. My aunt used to take us every week. Children's library cards have limits to the amount of books they can check out. There are some computers although not a huge amount. There's usually a little bit of a wait to use one. The library has a wide variety of books and will have the book sent from another library.

PROS: Free library
CONS: Not always the best of condition books

This is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. The library is housed in a beautiful block-long building, and the grandness of the library lends an air of importance to the experience. The selection is quite impressive and extensive. There are also plenty of instructional tapes and videos. Don't expect to find tons of comfy chairs for hours of reading, but there are a few. There are plenty of computers with internet access, however there are time limits, and the majority of the stations are standing only.

I just love this Library. They have a great selection of books (I especially like the huge fiction section) and it is pretty easy to get to, right of Cathedral Street.
