The Museum of Science is a really fun museum. There are lots of interactive exhibits and shows. It also has two other things to recommend it. One is the laser show. At night, the museum puts on laser shows set to the music of various bands. I've seen the Beastie Boys and the Pink Floyd shows but I think they are constantly changing the music so check what's available. Two is the Omni Theater, one of the only IMAX theaters in the Boston area, I believe. I can still remember being totally freaked out as a kid by the show with the giant volcano here. It's worth going for either of those 2 things but don't forget to visit the museum itself. I can't possibly put all the stuff there in one review so you'll have to visit.

I went to see Ramsees the 2nd back in the day. It had a excellent listening tour and showed many of the artifacts from that period. They constantly change and rotate some of the exhibits so it isn't the same stereotype of a museum.

The Museum of Science is a technologically oriented museum.Kids will appreciate the robotic dinosaurs and light demonstrations. Also, there is a really big 5 story Omnimax Theater. The Museum houses over 300 exhibits and is a great place to go if you have never been there. Kids under 3 get to go for free. If you're a member, the brunch is awesome, pricey, but the view is unbeatable.

This is the perfect museum for family outings, grown-up dates and solo afternoons. There is always something to do. There are great exhibits that are always changing. I can never see the entire museum on one visit. Be sure to check out the Omni Theater and the laser light shows. They cost extra - but they are well-worth it.

My family and I have a membership here and it's well worth it! A huge Museum with something for everyone and all subjects dealing with science topics portrayed in a fun and engaging way. They also have a planetarium, laser shows and the Mugar Omni theater with several shows daily. They also have live animals and a toddler/ younder child area for the smaller ones with tons of hands on activities. They have a great gift shop and a large "food court" with tons of seating with views of the Charles River. A great place to spend the day and you still won't be able to see it all!

This is a great place to go if you are any age! Your kids will love it and you will find some of things very interesting. One of my favorite things to do in September/October is take my college ID over there and get free admission on college night. Tip for college students: go on this night and you can get free admission to IMAX movies, laser shows, and so so much more! My favorite thing to do while there is the lightning show and the optical illusions exhibit. (Be sure to check out the dolphins painting!)

PROS: College night, IMAX, Lightning Show
CONS: Crowded on weekends

This is a great place to spend a day with the family. It is a place that all ages will enjoy! They have everything imaginable here for all to see. My favorite exhibit right now is the Butterfly Garden because I love insects. They have live presentations and lectures. They have exhibits that are changing so you always see something new evey time you go and visit. Granted, parking and the admission fees are a bit on the high side but well worth the visit.

This is a fun, educational museum. The exhibits are interesting and teach science in such a way that easily distracted children and adults can understand. The Museum of Science would be getting a 5-star rating if it lowered its prices. There are several special exhibits that cost a lot of money in addition to the regular fee to enter the musuem. A family of four may end up paying more than $50 simply to get in an see a couple of exhibits. And that doesn't include parking! As this museum is primarily targeted to children, I don't think the fees should be so exorbitant.

PROS: Learning experience, a ton of fun
CONS: Prices are much too high

Despite being a "science person" I never seem to enjoy visiting the Museum of Science. One of the best things there is a giant musical staircase. The other is the IMAX theatre which has the dome ceiling as opposed to the lame big screen most new IMAX's have these days. I guess they do have the world's largest van de graph generator.

PROS: IMAX, musical staircase
CONS: kind of boring sometimes

If you're looking for the best place to learn and have fun at the same time you have to check out the Museum of Science. Not only is it fun but it's also educational at the same time. You can watch shows, see exhibits, try the musical stairs and even eat great food!
