My partner of 31 years just underwent mouth surgery, and because I was away, they made him soft food by direction, and delivered it to him. The sweetest and most caring restaurant in NewYork. We love Lea&Carolyne & their wonderful staff

What a great spot. Comfortable and unpretentious with surprisingly satisfying food. If only this were a chain so I could find such a child-friendly and homey place in other NYC neighborhoods.

Cafe Forant has filled a culinary void in my life. Lea Forant (formerly of Tartare) creates uncomplicated and affordable dishes out of fantastic ingredients. Every dish that I have tried (and, at this point it has been quite a few) has wowed me. Take the mayo-less chicken salad: fresh mint, lemon zest, and a hint of white balsamic vinegar dressing. Or the Italian "rice cake": a lemony treat best described (by me anyway) as muffin with risotto and golden raisins inside. The apple tart tatin has become my favorite dessert. Caramelized apples on puff pastry like none you have ever had in this country. The atmosphere is great, the people running it are professionals. I only worry that it'll become too popular.
