I go to the Panera Bread in Salisbury several times a week. I felt like I needed to respond to some of the negative reviews...Yes, they are very crowded at lunchtime, enlarging the place would be wonderful. I have had a few occasions when I could not find a seat (maybe 2) out of some 200 plus visits. The food has always been Wonderful! I've never had anything there that I didn't like or wasn't very fresh. The staff has been friendly and helpful. Not sure what Panera Bread the others are going to...not mine : ) Salisbury Panera Bread gets 5 stars from me!

The Salisbury Panera has some of worst customer service personel. It is such a shame because the food is actually pretty decent, but it's seriously not worth the aggrevation.

Panera bread in general is pretty good. (been to 2 Glen Burnie ones, and a couple in Florida) The Salisbury one has issues. The food is decent, as usual, but the management and the planning aspect leaves much to be desired.
It is almost always so crowded you can't get a seat, and when you can, you have rude people standing over you waiting for you to get up, or, maybe, fall over dead so they can push you off the seat and sit down themselves. We follow the other half of the people who sometimes try to go, but instead leave when you see how crowded it is or that there are no available seats. I've seen people leave while in line, when they get to the door, turn around before they get to the door, and just drive by and not try.

They could have expanded to the small store area that came available next door, it would have been perfect. Bad, bad management.

Unlike most cities, where you could always drive a mile or 3 to get to the next one, this is the only one in Salisbury. And I feel for the people standing around, because it is NOT fun to be standing with a couple of heavy food trays searching for a seat. But we just leave before ordering so we won't be one of those unfortunate people.

However, the worst thing you can do is take out your stress from you own bad management on your customers. The last time (very last) time we went, one of the staff, (I believe it was a manager or asst manager) was taking trays. A nice gesture, or so I thought, until he QUIZZED me on why I wouldn't let him take my tray (yes it was very crowded). I was still EATING. I still had bread in my hand. He gave me a rude look and walked away. I think his name was Andrew, say hi for me.

Best time to go would be very, very early, as soon as they start serving lunch around 930 or 10am I believe. No problems then. Very late is also less crowded, but the food isn't usually as good.

Good luck.

This place has the best bread...hence the name panera bread. They bake it fresh every day, and its still warm when you get it. They have really good sandwiches, today I got the portabello and mozzarella panini, and it was a good vegetarian lunch. They have these new chocolate bagels with nuts on top that are to die for too.
