My in-laws took my husband and me to this restaurant. I liked the appetizers of calamari and crab dip, but the entrees were just tolerable. The tilapia was a little greasy, and the crab had shell in it. The seating hostess and waiter were nice and prompt.

My parents introduced me to this place and I loved it the first time... but each time my boyfriend and I went back the service got worse and worse. It seems like they give the wait staff more tables than they can really handle. They have rather large portions, or maybe I just have a small stomach. The bread and pesto dipping sauce is GREAT! I really like their vodka sauce. My boyfriend thought their food was 'average' at best. I tend to get the same thing and I like it.

Perhaps we dined here on the chef's night out. And perhaps our waitress was sick, or very new. So perhaps our experience was an anomly. However, I will never go back here to find out.
We waited 20 minutes before we got our drinks (with no apology when they did arrive). And we had three of the worst dishes I have ever eaten anywhere.
We got calimari as an appetizer. It was probably a mistake not to choose the deep-fried version, but we still shouldn't have been served a plate of rubber heads. We ate some of the tomato and spinach leaves it was served with, but the dressing was flat and a little bitter.
I ordered the gnocchi. I have eaten and made gnocchi--both potato and ricotta--many times. These were not gnocchi. They were huge doughy balls with a filling that was akin to a liquidy ricotta cheese. They were served in a sauce that tasted like a cream-based soup from a much cheaper chain restaurant, like TGI Friday or Ruby Tuesday, and reminded me why I don't eat at these restaurants. The first bite is okay--a little too rich, a little too salty, but okay. The next one turns the stomach. By the third, it is an effort not to gag.
My husband ordered linguine with clam sauce. He usually loves linguine with clam sauce--even when thrown together with canned clams and canned tomatoes--and I was surprised to see him picking at it, so I had a taste. I can only describe the experience as a shock. It was truly awful--sour and fishy and yet flavorless as well.

On the plus side, the atmosphere was nice (except for the dying lightbulb above our table that let out a flash every few moments); the bread was okay (sort of like a Safeway focaccia); the Chianti was unobjectionable; the portions small (not usually a selling point, but there you are); and I liked the pesto-ish dipping sauce (my husband didn't). My daughter's spaghetti and meatballs was bland but fine for a child's meal. It was the only dish that we bothered to pack up for leftovers.

I love this place. They make this fabulous parsley pesto that they bring to every table with a basket of focaccia bread. Very fresh tasting. I love their white pizza and my favorite thing is the smoked salmon with bow tie pasta with peas and vodka cream sauce. YUM! I'm hungry now!
