Be careful using your credit/debit card there- pub 71 will STEAL from you. Apparently I was not the first nor last victim-- remember to check your bank statement immediately to make sure that the charges are correct. I had 3 extra charges on my bank account from this place that were not supposed to be there, and when I called them up, the manager, George, was such a prick about it too. I guess he was used to getting these calls...

I know of 3 others who have had this happened to, and overdrafted their accounts. And when they called to speak to good ol' George, the dick had the same attidude-- what a disgrace to such a fine establishment. I hope George gets his ass kicked one of these days for his customer service skills. The owner should really think about firing George as he will run your pub to the ground with that type of customer service.

Pros: great bartenders

Cons: manager (GEORGE) is a PRICK and a THIEF

Very laid back and fun bar. They have a great draft selection and the crowd is usually young and casual. They have great trivia on Tuesday nights and it can get pretty crowded.

This place is nice. I prefer bars and pubs to nigh clubs. The atmosphere is really great, not too loud and the beer selection is what I like the best. The wait staff is good too.

My friends and I love this place. It is a great place to met up with friends and have a few drinks. I recently tried the food on a Sunday afternoon and it was great.

71 is a fun place to drink with friends, but the food is very weak, and the place is far from sanitary. My husband and friends are content with going there for drinks, but we will not eat there.

I've only been fortunate enough to post-up and throw-down at Pub 71 a mere handfull of times now, yet both my homies and myself have had only sweet-treats on our tongues for this suprisingly authentic little pub and tummy-rubbin' eatery. The beautiful lady which I have chosen to have (often rather naughty) familial relations with actually proclaimed "Yumma-Lumma-Ding-Dong!" open first sampling Captain Adamo's exquisite Shepherd's Pie recipe...A dish which, let's be honest, can be quite wretched when poorly executed. I think that's a pretty darn good endorsement, even if you foolishly insist on disagreeing. My mate, Mr. Ron is apparently more than eager to preach the golden-fried-gospel-goodness of P71's Fish N' Chips. I don't chomp that fish-fish....so, I'm willing to take his word on that one. Myself? What gets my belly happy? Well, I've thought for near a little minute now that Big Daddy be needin' to try a Reuben sandwich but, had obviously decided to proceed with great caution when selecting which local choke-n-puke to embark on this bold new big-boy-style taste endeavor at. To put it simply: I was so good that, after I had eaten it, I actually wished that I had another one....just so that I could jump up on the table and spike it. That's how dandy...NAY! ...Snazzy that sandwich was! Not only does "mister grumbles" always get a nummy and comforting pub-grub nap but, the staff have always come correct and equipped, courteous and prompt yet in no danger, whatsoever, of moving-in with you. And that's a good thing. In short: I pity the the poor, stupid fools who blindly stumble through their days, over-looking this dark and cozy oasis, pacing in-circles in a bland, flavorless prison on their own ignorant design. My posse can even stroll there, making them perfectly-poored, seductively-frothy, ice-cold, $4 pints of Monday Guinness entirely fat-free and calorie-neutral! PUB 71, fool!

This quaint bar has a big heart. The food is great, the servers are friendly... and they say "Tanks" and "Tursday". What more could you ask for?

I've been to Pub71 several times & evidently I'm the only one writing a review who has actually eaten there or tried to order anything to drink on the weekend. The food was disappointing and very inconsistent. The two stars are for the friendly servers, however the service can also be unpredictable. The crowd is annoying, especially on the weekends & trying to find parking is unbearable. If there were any other bars in Brookhaven I would certainly not have risked this pub as often as I have.

I have recently been transfered to Atlanta from Chicago and have really missed The Windy City. This new restaurant find is going to help me adjust! I have been using Citysearch as a Guide for several years and Citysearch is considered to be THE resource in most major cities. New York, Chicago, LA and SanFrancisco depends on Citysearch to reach customers and buyers in thos major areas. I use nothing else, so when I needed a place to feel at home in Atlanta, Citysearch was the logical choice. The reviews for PUB 71 made me feel like this was what I needed! We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. The steaks and burgers were very well done and the drinks were mixed with enough care to see that this place really cares about their clientele and getting them back in the restaurant. I was told the owner is a trained chef and that he is usually in the restaurant butwe did not meet him. This is typical of a GREAT neighborhood bar in Chicago or New York. The chef/owner is in the business and really cares about what is happening and how the customers are made to feel. I felt like they really cared and that they realy wanted to make us feel at home and very comfortable and welcome. If you don't necessarily have to have grits and fried green tomatoes, try PUB 71 for some really good comfort food that would fit in any Chicago Irish Neighborhood. I know we will be back, this may be MY PLACE IN ATLANTA!

Cons: Parking was a bit limited but get there early and stay late.

We have been to PUB 71 about 4-5 times in the past several weeks, and it is really feeling like "OUR PLACE". The staff is always friendly and nice and the drinks and food are exceptional. We are planning to be the for the New Years Eve Party and will bring in 2008 with a really "cool" crowd. Come join us, the price is right and the atmosphere is GREAT! You really feel like they appreciate the fact that you are there. Thanks to this Cityguide for the "Heads UP"....

A good friend of mine suggested that we try this place and what a nice surprise! We had a delightful meal and wonderful drinks. The steak that I had was unique and very flavorful. My wife had the Salmon and thoroughly enjoyed that. We even had desserts and Irish Coffee. What a treat! We will be back again soon, I thank my friend for finding this place and "insisting" that we try it. A real GEM! Treat yourself to something just a bit different but very comfortable and very good. Try it, you WILL like it!

IWe had not been into PUB 71 before but had been there when it was Meehans. We really enjoyed ourselves. Live Music on Friday & Saturday night is really fun! We had a few beverages and enjoyed the Band (The Brian Wiltsey Group). They were good and because the place was so comfortable and everyone seemed so friendly, we went back for the Brunch on Sunday! The Onion Soup with the Irish Whiskey is incredible. The eggs Benedict, The Shepherds Pie and all of the salads and sides are really a unique spread. All of the dishes were fresh and enticing. We will KEEP GOING BACK... They have specials just about every night! Quarter wings during the Football games and drink specials on different nights! Lots of fun and lots of good food and good drink.. Try PUB 71, you will be glad you did!

I was sitting on a bar stool next to some guy who told me about this Cityguide and he asked me to write a review. Citysearch is a great resource. PUB 71 is a good way to find out about things like this! What I mean is people are friendly and engaging. I have met several people there that told me all about Atlanta, things to do, places to go and other valuable information. This place has become my "regular spot" I enjoy the food, the beer (great selection) and the live music. I love sitting out on the patio, where you can smoke, and just watching people.... A friendly spot to "kick back" and let the day go by! TRY IT, YOU WILL LIKE IT!

A friend of mine suggested that I try PUB 71. I thought Meehan's was still in this spot and I never cared much for that place. They always treated you like you were "in there way"... PUB 71 is a DEFINATE IMPROVEMENT! We really enjoyed ourselves. 4 of us started out with apps to just have with drinks.... We ended up staying for dinner and I had a very, very good steak and my date had a glazed salmon that was extroidinary. Robert (the Chef) was in the restaurant and he came out and introduced himself as the owner. A very nice guy and a wonderful host. He suggested some very nice Irish Whiskey and we stayed for live music until late into the night. A wonderful evening! A very nice place. We will be back and PUB 71 may become one of our favorites, if the first visit is any indication.

I tried PUB 71 today for the first time. One of my long time patients, insisted that I give them a try and I was pleasantly surprised. I spend most of my mornings at Piedmont Hospital and PUB 71 is a nice lunch for me as I am going to my office in Dunwoody. I had the Crab Cake sandwich that is served with a very nice cole slaw and a Draft Smithwick?s Irish Beer. It was very nice, a delightful lunch at a very afforable price. I am looking forward to going back in the evening for the Shepherd's Pie and another Irish Beer. There was a very nice, "professional crowd" at lunch and I am sure I will return. I have never used CitySearch before but my friend insisted that I use this as a resource and PUB 71 is a very nice find.

I VISITED PUB 71 WITH MY FATHER-IN-LAW AND MY HUSBAND AND WE ALL HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME! IRISH BEER IS REALLY GOOD AND THEY HAVE IT ALL! WE HAD SOME OF THE BEST SALMON THAT I HAVE EVER EATEN AND THE PROFESSIONAL CHEF EVEN CAME OUT TO OUR TABLE AND VISITED. THIS IS NOT JUST ANOTHER "FERN BAR". WE HAD GREAT FOOD AND LIVE MUSIC........ A REALLY GOOD TIME! TRY PUB 71, YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID!

After reading the negative reviews on the Citysearch site I was confused. With GLOWING reviews and tehn just the OPPOSITE, I felt like I needed to investigate! I DID.... TRY PUB 71. The viewers and USERS on the Fox 5 CITIES BEST are correct. Robert Adamao has created a OASIS among the run of the mill pubs and bars and restaurants in the Brookhaven area. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and I COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. I had a steak that was as good as any in town and at half the price. The service was friendly yet professional and efficient. Chef Adamo came out of the kitchen and asked for input and could not have been more open and honest with his concerns in our comfort and our experience! The bad reviews are ridiculous. I have been in twice in the past month and I LOOKED for problems..... I could not find anything wrong except they are 25 miles from me. TRY THIS PLACE YOURSELF! YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID. Several reviewers have called PUB 71 "THEIR CHEERS". THAT FITS !!! Try it YOURSELF....

I have been living in NYC for the past 3 years and I am glad to be back in Atlanta. While in NY I did get used to really good food and the very comfortable "corner bar" and especially the Irish Pubs. In NYC Citysearch is THE site to find the best clubs, bars, restaurants and entertainment. I have gotten very familiar with Citysearch and how well they rate and evaluate the venues. When I started looking for the Best of Citysearch I was pleased at what I saw! I have tried several of the recommendations and had been to Mehans when it was in the PUB 71 location. Citysearch did not have PUB 71 listed in the Best OF. I was surprised! THIS IS WHAT AN IRISH PUB IS ALL ABOUT! Good food, good drink and good friends! The old place, Meehans, was a joke! They tried to play like they knew what they were doing, but you cannot just hang up a flag and call yourself Irish. Just another Bar with NO IRISH flair except a few lame beers. FOR AUTHENTIC AMBIENCE and a TRUE IRISH PUB, TRY PUB 71. The chef comes out and talks to you, asks for suggestions offers new dishes on a regular basis and by the way, he is the owner! Figure that out! IT MUST BE GOOD IF THE OWNER COOKS! See for yourself, this is a TRUE IRISH "FEEL GOOD" PUB. I have never been to Ireland but all the Irish in NewYork would LOVE THIS PLACE!

If you are tired of all of the "cookie cutter" bars and clubs TRY PUB 71. We have been in there several times and each time we seem to enjoy it more. When the cook in a local PUB is an actual professionally trained Chef, you know you are in a Unique Place. The signature dishes prepared by Chef Robert Adamo have all been INCREDIBLE and have drawn us back in over and over. Last week I had the Pan Seared Filet of Salmon with Honey Chipotle Butter. Even the leftovers the next morning were incredible! My husband had the Grilled NY Strip Steak . The steak was Topped with the Signature Blue Cheese Butter. Melt in your mouth tender and incredible flavor. We shared a desert just because they are so unique and could not resist the Banana Foster Bread Pudding. What a TREAT... A very relaxing "AT HOME" place where you can REALLY ENJOY a wonderful meal and service that is just right. Professional wait staff that knows when to serve and when to let you enjoy your meal. Chef/Owner Adamo even stopped by our table to check on us. He really makes you feel like you are important and your opinions count. Try PUB 71 and you can form your own opinion. I would be proud to reccommend this establishment and look forward to taking my friends and clients there. A WONDERFUL LOCAL RESTAURANT and PUB.

I am a resident of NewYork, but I recently visited some friends in Atlanta and we partied for 4 straight nights. We had a ball and visited most of the "Hot Spots" in Buckhead and Mid-Town. We went to "Smith's Old Bar", East Andrews, and several other clubs until late into the night and early in the morning. My good friend, who is an Atlanta Native had to show us everything... We saw the GA Aquarium, Philips Arena, CNN, Fox Theatre and Stone Mountain Park. We ate at the Varsity, Hard Rock Cafe, Fat Mats BBQ, CheeseCake Factory and PittyPats Porch. The trip was really a constant party and we enjoyed every minute! One evening we visited PUB 71, my friend is doing business with them, and really had a great time. We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed some really good live music. This place, PUB 71, is really unique! I felt like I was in an Irish PUB on St Patrick's day in New York. But better. We sat out on the Patio and listened to great music, enjoyed really good food, a great selection of beer and wines and the incredible Atlanta weather. I wish my occupation would allow me to move to Atlanta then the fantastic night life, the weather and GREAT PUBS like PUB 71. Each and every time I visit Atlanta I will be a regular at PUB 71..... I just wish I could be there more often.

I have been a Fan of Meehans and now PUB 71 for many years. When I read the reviews listed here I felt like things were terribly "misrepresented"... So I went back in last night during Monday Night football in Atlanta... A GREAT PLACE.. Even better than when it was Meehans. I have met the owner on a few occassions, he is very committed to EXCELLENT service, and his true concern for the customer care is very evident. Natalie and Colm could not have been more accomodating and the atmosphere was incredible. GOOD FOOD .... GREAT BEER .... GOOD CIGARS ..... and true caring for the customer's needs. This is a true "Cheers in Atlanta". They are the best and friendliest neighborhood bar in Atlanta. I don't know what IDIOTS wrote the negative reviews but they are probably back under "professional care" by now. Hopefully they will not be in PUB 71 spewing their venom and poor taste. Try this place, there are reasons PUB 71 has been awarded "Best Of" in local City Guides. There are many things in life that you must experience to form your opinions and the comfort and caring shown at PUB 71 is one of them. Go in and introduce yourself to the owner, Robert Adamo and you will see what I mean. Robert is sincere and truly caring about his customers and his business. PUB 71 is NOT JUST A BUSINESS, it is a HOME AWAY FROM HOME, with better food, beer, service and they clean up after you! Give it a try and you will understand what I mean! PUB 71... The BEST IN ATLANTA..... THE BEST AROUND!!!!

I visited Pub 71 this weekend and was overly satisfied with my experience! It was my second visit, but the first time I had actually tried a few of the entrees on the menu as well as a few of the specialty cocktails. Also, it was my first time on a weekend night, so we were able to hear live music as well. A group of six of us dined out on the patio...beginning with a round of Sweet Water Hummers- great way to start off the evening! We shared the blue cheese chips (to die for), the chicken nachos and the signature avocado corn salsa- delicious. I had the crab cake sandwich- and let me just say- it is truly the best crab cake sandwich i have ever had. As a self-proclaimed foodie, i have tasted my fair share of crab cakes and this one is full of flavor and has almost no breading!! My boyfriend ordered the Atlanta Flame (which is a 10 oz. ribeye served w/ fire roasted peppers and onions) and could not have been happier- it was cooked to perfection. A couple of other dishes at our table included the Shepherd's Pie, fish and chips (Cod-delicious) and the grilled Ahi Tuna. Our service was wonderful; very attentive and cheerful waitress. It made our experience special to have the Executive Chef/Owner greet our table and ask about our evening. We finished off the night hours later, with a chocolate molten cake that literally melted in our mouths and the bananas foster bread pudding which was unlike any banana dessert I had ever tasted. It was awesome! All in all, i will definitely revisit Pub 71 and will continue to tell my friends, family and co-workers that it is the perfect combination of casual dining, great food and a fun atmosphere in Atlanta.

Everything about this Irish pub is great. The service is fast and friendly. I talked with the owner, and he was very nice and personable. Everything on the menu that I've tried is great, and I've herd that the owner is a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America. I love this pub!!

Pub 71 has taken over the old Meehan's in Brookhaven. Come here if you want good food, good drinks (i.e. strong) and good company. Everything I have tried on the menu has been excellent and the staff is very friendly. Great live music on the weekends. Overall a great neighborhood bar to hang out at or just a great dinner if you want.
