I went in a tired-looking, 60-year-old blond with fine, dry, unmanageable hair. (There's a challenge!) I sat in Flavie's chair, turned my back to the mirror and said, "Do what you want." An hour and a half later I turned around, looked in the mirror and saw a ravishing (ok,"ravishing's" a little strong, but the "tired" was gone) redhead looking back. Who would have thought that with a great cut and bold choice of color I'd lose not only 3 inches of hair but 10 years! Flavie's definately a professional with flair.

Plus, I must mention that Liliana's careful facial waxing and relaxing pedicure were wonderful!

And to top it all off?they were nice!

I have been going to Phen @ Ugo's for 14 years. She gets my color and cut right every time. I trust her. She is the best. When I moved to Palm Beach, I tried another so called top salon. It was the worst cut and color of my life. So, I now drive 75 miles and an hour and a half to get the best. I have been driving that distance for 8 years. Phen is the best with my baby fine hair. It is absolutely worth my drive and money. Let's face it, life without bad hair days is great! Thank you Phen.

I went to Ugo Di Roma this past Saturday and was extremely pleased with the results. I was lucky enough to get Jimmy to do my hair. I have extremely thick and curly hair and Jimmy gave me beautiful higlights, an amazing cut, and a blow-out. He was very gentle and the color was extremely natural and sunkist. This is the first time I have ever had highlights and would not hesitate to go back to Jimmy. He was warm, friendly, and great with my hair. The cut he gave me also complimented my hair when it was straight (after he blew it out) and when it was curly (after I washed it again). He even recommended some affordable products for me to try. Trust me, go to Jimmy -- you won't be disappointed.

I am a former beauty editor, having worked for titles in Los Angeles and Toronto . While in South Florida I happened upon Ugo Di Roma as I was looking for a salon that used L'oreal Majorel Color. When I called for an appointment, I was referred to Flavie (whom I later discovered had recently moved to Miami from Paris). It is rare to find a colorist who excels at a natural blonde look. It is unheard of to find a hair technician who excels at BOTH color and cut. Flavie is such an individual.
I have had my hair done in Paris, New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles, by the hair industry's cream of the crop, but I cannot rave enough about Flavie's skill. Her color was thoughtful, she matched my base color perfectly and her balliage highlighting technique gave me natural, minimal-damage highlights. She dried my hair straight so that she could complete the cut on my dry hair for a precise finish. The only other stylist to do this for me was the late John Sahag of New York. It serves to illustrate Flavie's level of professionalism.
I always believe the test of a decent hair cut is when one attempts to dry it on your own at home. I rarely dry my own hair, I usually have it blown out professionally, but with her cut this became an option rather than a "must"! Her consitency and excellence were demonstrated upon more than one visit for cut and color.
From industry professionals to the girl at Starbucks , it is borderline ridiculous how many individuals have complimented her work on my hair.
Now back home in Toronto, I am resolved to fly in to Miami every four weeks to have her touch up my color and trim my hair.
Flavie is a hair star...I was nervous to write this review in case she is snatched away by some Hollywood A-lister...but then again I'd make the trip to L.A. to have her work her magic on my tresses any day!

I began going to Ugo di Roma ten years ago upon the recommendation of anchor women I worked with at a Miami television station. They had perfect hair so I inquired where they got it done. I was told Ugo di Roma in Coconut Grove was the best. They far surpassed my expectations then and continue to do so. If you require any type of correction they know exactly what to do. They are the absolute best stylists, highlighters and colorists in Miami. No matter what condition your hair is in now, you walk out with beautiful, silky, smooth hair. When I moved back to New York City, I went to the so-called best but could never find someone as good as at Ugo di Roma. The first thing I did upon moving back to Miami is make an appointment at Ugo di Roma. Flavie placed gorgeous highlights in my brunette hair, and recently added silky extensions. I have received so many compliments on my hair. It looks radiant, healthy and natural. I highly recommend Ugo di Roma and Flavie who is also wonderful at blowouts. Anyone living in Florida looking for the absolute best in hair care should come here. It is even worth travelling from out of town. They are amazing and the absolute best of the best!!!

I went in for a consultation at first. The very next day I had an appointment. I had do to a correction on a poorly done highlight job (the sorry highlight job was not at this place at a different salon in Kendall). Flavie consulted me, took a look at my hair and said "yes I can fix it". I told her "I just want to be a blonde". She did an amazing job! I've already recommended three others to her who have asked me where I got my highlights done. She did a great job as well at matching the color of my eyebrows to my new fantastic hair. Most people would think that being born with thick curly hair is a dream come true. But for me it was a nightmare. I have spent a lifetime hoping that I would find someone to help tame my unruly, frizzy hair. Coming from NY I have tried many hairstylist from celebrity stylist to stylist fresh out of school but no one has come close to being as good as NINO! Not only does he have a fabulous personality but he has a certain smoothness that calms your nerves. Which came in handy in my case because the last hairstylist dyed my hair orange. So you can only imagine how nervous I was! I felt very speacial and the best part of it all is he knew exactly what hair style and color I needed. I walked in feeling dull and boring and walked out amorous and sutlry! It may have been the wine or both, but I know that NINO will remain my hairstylist "until death do us apart"! I absolutely love my hair and although the prices may break my bank a little I can't imagine going anywhere else! I don't wake up in the morning hating my curls but instead I embrace them. And now I know why people spend so much money to have curls like mine. NINO's magic fingers worked wonders on my hair. Thanks to him I appreciate my hair a whole lot more. I normally don't take time to write reviews but I had to let everyone know how fantastic NINO is, he has changed my life just with a haircut and some hair dye! NINO is the BEST!

It took me a long time to try Ugo di Roma because their prices are higher than what I used to pay. However, Lionel's expertise in cutting my hair is well worth the price.

I recently decided to change my haircolor (I have fine, dark blond hair and went to a rich, chocolate color with highlights). Dom did my color and highlights and I can't say enough good things about his skills as a colorist. We had a long discussion prior to the color and he really took the time necessary to understand exactly the result I wanted and deliver it. He did the most amazing job ever. Nobody would ever guess that my hair is even colored...it just looks naturally beautiful.

I highly recommend this salon for great cut, color, highlight, and customer service.

The experience began well. Good service; fun atmosphere. But, in the end, it is the product that counts, and Nino gave me the worst haircut I have had in years--and I have had some not-so-great cuts. He has a fun, flirtatous, confident attitude, but obviously not great insight into what would look good as a haircut, at least on me. To his benefit, maybe he's just a lot better cutting thick dark hair and not used to the natural, blond, fine, Caucasian hair that I have. Either way, I won't be back. The main thing that bothers me is that he didn't really listen to input from me about my own hair. He had all these "ideas." Who knows your hair and things that work better with it than you? I usually wouldn't even write a post here about it; but I was so unhappy with it (and the $$$), that I am having it re-cut and by my old hairdresser back home where my parents live out-of-state. I still doubt she'll be able to fix it. I'll just have to wait months for it to grow back.

I went to this salon for over a year. At first it was great. The last 3 cuts from Lionel have been one worse than the other. Jimmy stopped looking at my color when I came in for maintenance the last 2 times and just used the same color instead of checking it first. my hair is growing out orange. The facialist comes and tries to get business while your getting a manicure. The receptionist gets her services done while custormers are there and she has twice overcharged me and argued about it. I got my money back but that's not the point. Liliana is very good, with nails but i won;'t be back.

I have curly unruly hair and am very picky about who touches it. Then I found Jimmy. Besides being well-traveled and having the best stories to tell, Jimmy is the man when it comes to highlights and taming curly hair. He always gives hair a natural look and knows how to find just the right color for your skin tone. Plus, he's great at layer haircuts and getting the curl out for that special event.

My wife used to get her haircuts at the Jacques Desanges salon in NYC. They closed the location a few years ago and then she went to other salons such as Frederik Fekkai and Pierre Michel-the guys there did a good job but what she got at Ugo di Roma was really outstanding! The service is great and the coiffeurs(hairdressers for you non-French speaking people) are all exceptional! We will go back and make Miami a beauty destination! Highly recommended-ask for Lionel!

I've nver been to the salon before but i tried it. i went in and the atmosphere was really relaxing. My hairstylist was NINO and he did miracles with my hair he is a really professional hairstylist. i started talking with him and i made a really good impression. he's originally from ITALY and moved to NY, so for all NYers out there you shold check him out. Any way he asked me what i wanted to do with my hair he advised me in what it will look good on me and he started working it turned out to be not just a plain haircut and color but a pieceof art. the prices are very good for the work that he is doing and i was very satisfied in the end. I was thrilled that i had that experience never knowing that i was going to be like that. Now i go on a regular basis and the service that i get beats every salon in MIAMI. So if you go there and you want an exhilarating experience ask for NINO. HE's the BEST IN TOWN...

Get your highlights done by JIMMY!!! Very natural and GREAT color! Jimmy does a great job of finding the perfect highlight to compliment hair color, complexion and hair style. He makes it look natural, it lasts long and grows out natural. Great stylist to boot! :) I won't let anyone else touch my hair!
Other spa services are top notch.....spa manicures/pedicures......facials!!!

Lionel is fabulous !!!!!! You won't find a more talented hair stylist anywhere, who is also very kind and gentle. I have been making regular trips to Paris just for his fantastic ability to give me the best style for my hair. Now that he is in Miami, it will make my trips shorter. I have always gone away from one of his cuts feeling like a million dollars. Plus the spa uses Carita products and is one of very few places in the United States that offers such unique & wonderful face and body treatments with highly experienced staff. I would recommend a full day of beauty, you will NOT be disappointed!!!!!!!!! I know that I will be back and so will all my girlfriends.

I HIGHLY recommend the relaxer hair treatment done by Lionel. This is a new treatment from Japan that makes your hair shiny, healthy and straight. You would not need to iron your hair any more. Lionel is a talented and passionate man who will listen to your needs, your expectations and advise you with a lot of taste and elegance.

My husband and I have been clients at Ugo Di Roma's for more than twenty years. Marcia has been my stylist and colorist for the majority of that time, she has taken me through a range of styles, from a Sharon Stone short cut to shoulder length, from a redhead to blonde and now highlights. I am never bored or dissatisfied with her creativity. I am often stopped on the street, sometimes in other cities, with the question "who is your hairdresser, I love your color (or your cut)?" For the service,the prices are way too high. Manicure was average,nothing special. Facial was allright but my face was stinging from one of the creams. When I asked for it to be removed she told me that is was very exclusive cream from France. I dont care,it still didnt feel good. This salon is too expensive for the service given.

It looks like celebrities, although I never saw any, are what this $$$$ place wants. The prices are way to high for this hair salon. Its a dated place with some good hairdressers, but not much more. Some clients left looking very good but others looked better when they walked in. I wouldn't feel so bad if they charged normal prices but they are off with these prices$$$$

Because of Liliana swift and nimble fingers I only have hair where it belongs, on my head! As painful as body waxing is, Liliana makes it bearable. She is quick, discreet, and thourough. I live in West Kendall and make my journey to Ugo's faithfully for their great service. Thank you Ugo!

Gay did a great job on my hi-lites and gave me some great ideas with what to do with my color in the future while Massimo fix my really bad previous hair cut. Both were very professional and friendly. The salon has a great atmosphere. The salon is expensive but it's a nice treat for yourself.

I have been going to Gay for 2 years now and I have never ever stuck with the same stylist for that long. She gets my hair to do exactly what I want and is always apprised of the latest techniques. My highlights have looked so natural or lasted so long before. Spending time in Gay's chair is a pleasure and fun; she's great to talk to. I don't feel like I am talking to my hairstylist, but to a friend. Gay has great hours, so even with hectic schedule I can normally get into see her with no problems at all. And the atmosphere at Ugo is fun. The stylists are all smiling and having a good time. I wish I could go more often!

Michelle is a true artist. I have had some awful experiences with my hair, and when I found Michelle, I knew she was the best. She made me feel so at ease, and before starting with my hair she sat with me and talked to me about what I was looking for. There was no pressure; she really cared. She gave a suggestion, and then went to work. My hair has never looked and felt so good! I have curly, dry hair, and with her special touch, my hair has never been so rejuvenated. I think the best hair dresser in the world works here. His name is Massimo. I've never met a hairdresser that I feel contented before I met him. Now I'm a repeat customer for this place and very amused by his skill and his pleasent attitude. Not only was the trip worth the gas and time, but, my experience will ake me a repeat customer for life. I was greated by the owner, and treated like family. I made an appointment this last Wed for a toe polish change and a manicure. W/in the next day the manicure started to chip, w/in 3 days it needed to be completely removed. As for the manicure - Sun is when it started to chip. As for "celebrities" - manybe some lame reality TV celebritiy goes here - but no real celebrity - this was was dated and rather dirt/grungy. Completely over-rated and total waste of money!

I travel frequently and have had massages in several cities. The last time I was in Miami I had a massage and body scrub at Ugo the Roma with Carlos. He was recommended by a friend and all I can say is that if you need to relax in a pleasant atmosphere and feel the need to feel pampered, Carlos has hands of gold. After a
long day of meetings and decision making I felt 80 yrs old when I left the salon I
felt ready to hit the town and party all night. I will definatly will visit Carlos when Iam back in town.

I have become a regular at Ugo di Roma since i started going there last year. I won't let anyone cut my hair unless it's Massimo, he is unbelievably talented!!! Sometimes I don't even have to say anythign to him, he styles my hair perfect. He can do anything from giving you glamourous runway look to a perfect blowout. Elia does the best manicure and bikini wax, she is very careful. Definitely worth going there, the staff is completely devoted to satisifying your needs.

I have been a client of Gay's for over 4 years now and as long as she's around, I'll be her forever clilent!! She does the best color and highlights of anyone that has EVER done my hair. Once I found Gay, I stuck with her because she's a skilled artist in color. When in her chair, her total focus is on you and making sure that when she is done, your hair is looking at its all time best. Once you go to Gay you will become a permanent client just like I have! No one else will compare. I am so happy that I found this salon and I am particularly happy with my colorist Michelle and my stylist Fredrico. Very knowledgable and talented artists. Very personable as well. This is really the best I have felt about my hair and the health of my hair in a very long time and I have been to a lot very "high end" salons. It's just so nice getting compliments on my hair again and also loving the way I look everyday.

As a nice little extra treat, the salon is located in a wonderful shopping area of Coconut Grove. I got there a bit early and did some window shopping. All in all, it was a great experience. Thanks Ugo!

I'm Latina and I have very wavy hair, I have always been nervous about coloring and cutting my hair due to my past experiences. I went to Jimmy (I found him through this website) I was so nervous that I even bought him a book of pictures circled with hair cuts and color that I liked. Jimmy was so sweet he calmed my nerves listened to what I wanted. Jimmy worked his magic and, I came out looking like a MOVIE STAR!!!! MY BOYFRIENDS JAW DROPPED when he saw me. Jimmy gave me beautiful honey colored highlights and a soft layered cut. Since my new look I get nothing but compliments about how great my hair looks ranging from strangers in the supermarket to my co-workers!!! Everyone wants to know with who I got my hair done with ... Michelle Antinarello is the best hair colorist I have ever had. She is friendly, personable and accommodating. She understands how color relates to your skin color and type, age and hairstyle. Michelle is extremely professional and a skilled technician. She is straightforward and honest, but makes you feel comfortable with her recommendations. She includes you in the decision-making. At my first appointment with Michelle, my hair color needed changing and she gave me her recommendations, but also suggested making changes gradually over 2-3 appointments so I would feel more comfortable with the changes and with her techniques. My color has never been better. If you want truly glorious hair color, book an appointment with Michelle! She is an artist and an asset for the salon. Spring

What can I tell you about Ugo Di Roma spa? They are GREAT!!!! The salon is superb, and the receptionist is so pleasant and personable. If you want a great facial, go see Martha. Martha gives the best facials in town. I call her the facial queen. If extracting junk from your pores it what you want, go see Martha. She will leave your pores squeaky clean. Your face will only feel great, but look fresh and youthful. Someone else that I highly recommend is Elia the manicurist. She is also magnificent. In all honesty, she has given me the best manicures and pedicures. I love the way she shapes my nails, and removes all the cuticles from my hands and feet. The salon is beautiful. I find it a little pricey, but definitely worth the expense.

I was starting to hate my hair, but after a fabulous cut, I've changed my mind. I need to change the color and will come backe in a few weeks. My facial was ok, but something made my skin turn all blotchy for about a week afterwards. It was a little red when I left, but the following day it spread to my cheeks and neck. Nothing life threatening, but it wasn't what I expected. The facialist put some aloe on it and said it would calm down, but it took a while. She was very nice and felt bad, but it kind of made me scared to have another facial for a while. At least my hair looks Fab!

I had an overall great experience at the spa, but my favorite part of the entire day was the facial with Martha Sanchez. She is so knowledgeable, gentle, gave an amazing custumized facial, did lots of extractions, yet extreemely pampering. And when she was done to my surprise, no blotchines nor irritation, just pure glow!!! I'm still recieving compliments and it has been 3 weeks... Can't wait to go back!!!

I had an excellent experience with the "Exetnsion specialist," Michele Mantin at the Ugo Di Roma salon, in Coconut Gove. If you want extensions YOU MUST SEE MICHELE! SHE IS THE BEST!!! Very professional and takes her time with each strand of hair. A very pleasant person and fun to be around. I would definitely recomment her to anyone contemplating extensions in Florida.

I have struggled for years to find a stylist that I like! Michelle Antinarella is my new stylist! Not only was she opened and honest with me, she was like a friend and listened to what I wanted. Michelle took the time and made my hair look amazing!! The colors that she did for me looked so natural and not fake like most highlights!! I had always considered getting extensions, and while talking with Michelle she agreed this would be the best way for me to get the long hair I have always wanted. Martha's facial... professional, meticulous, gentle, but won't leave one dirty pore.
At the same time she has the ability to relax and pamper you until you helplessly fall into a deep slumber, every time! I actually get compliments on my skin now. My friends tell me I look younger and they can't put their finger on it... My previously blotchy, dull skin is now like that of a porcelain doll. Flawless! This is the one time I know my money is being spent well... All my friends and relatives are now her loyal and thankful clients!
