I was very impressed with the selection of scrapbooking items at Memories in the Making. Everything from stickers to papers to markers to magazines/books to fun tags/clips/brads/eyelets. Prices were par for a scrapbooking store. The layout of the store was simple -- things are grouped by product (all paper is together, all stickers are together, etc). I didn't have any problem finding the items on my scrapbook shopping list. The staff was friendly, but didn't offer any help while I was shopping. I checked out their class schedule -- prices seem par for what I have seen in other scrapbook stores. I did note that most of the class were more advanced. They didn't seem to offer a simple, basic beginner's class. All in all my experience was good.
PROS: selection
CONS: lack of initiated help from staff

Although Memories in the Making has a decent selection of scrapbooking supplies, my last visit there was unsatisfying. I specifically went to Memories in the Making to find the perfect papers to scrap some photos of my husband and son. I had the perfect layout in my head -- just needed help finding the perfect papers. The owner was working that day, so I asked for some help. She proceeded to IGNORE my request and steer the conversation to how SHE would scrap my photos. When I stated that I didn't need ideas on HOW to arrange the photos on the page; just needed help in picking papers that would coordinate with the photos, she said: "Oh, I can't help you with that. That's something you have to figure out on your own." Definitely NOT how I expected her to handle my request. Needless to say, she lost all my scrapbooking business that day. And I rejoiced the day that THE SCRAPBOOK SHOP opened in Greensboro. So, my advice -- if you need scrapbook supplies, go visit THE SCRAPBOOK SHOP on Battleground; Wendy will treat you like family there.
