I left before the food ever arrived after waiting 30 minutes and never so much as having the waitress check on us. Asked the hostess what was going on and she could not even extend me the courtesy of an explanation. The worst wait staff on

The servers were obviously new to serving and didn't give two craps about food or drinks ever getting to us. I was there for an hour and didn't get to eat anything. I can't say anything about the food because I NEVER got to taste it

Love that it is more laid back at Southpoint. Really great food, especially for the price. Really great daily drink specials. Hard to describe, not quite like any other restaurant around, just a really good feel to it.

Hostesses were very friendly and quick, server was slow and unprepared, appetizer was good, entrees were disgusting-seafood was overcooked and covered in sauce to make up for its dryness.
The manager came out to apologize for overcooked food and did give a free dessert, he even mentioned they do NOT prepare it there, it was delicous! In essence the best part of our meal were the hostesses and the dessert that had been made elsewhere. Consensus--will continue to eat elsewhere.

We come here every couple of months. Last few times, the service was pretty poor, but the food was great which kept us coming back. They've definitely made some changes though, and this last time, we had a great experience. The staff was very helpful and frequently visited our table. We also didn't have to wait long for our server, which was a major issue before. If you've been turned off from Rockfish by long wait times and poor service, we'd definitely recommend giving them another try. The fish tacos are well worth it!

We have been dining at Rockfish Grill for more than two years. It is one of our favorite restaurants for so many reasons. Their service is wonderful (Melissa ROCKS!), their food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is fun. Great for kids, too!

You have to try these: Red Pepper Crab Bisque (best ever!), Brisket Nachos, and the Tilapia Monte Carlo. Oh, and don't forget the Crab Cake Sandwich. You'll never want one anywhere else.

Try it - You won't be disappointed!

I was there yesterday. Great staff, and some great local beers! It nice to see a place a little less "chainy" @ Southpoint.

My husband and I first visited on a Friday night about a month ago and were sat at a small booth in the bar area. At first we were hesitant about the location but were soon in love. Our server was also one of the 2 bartenders working that night. She was great! She had an amazing smile and was on top of her game. She really took car of us, our drinks were never empty, our order was taken in a timely manner and she was personable. She tended to 2 other tables and a full bar in addition to us. My husband pointed out the number of people who walked through the door who knew her. Every 10 min it seemed she would stop for a moment and scream across the bar "hey love!" or "what's up!"

We returned last weekend and were sat in the dining room. We were sad to not have the same experience. Our server seemed troubled to have us and we never saw a manager. The meal was as tasty as the first time . But we ended the night at the bar. Our dessert was a round of drinks with that same bartender! We felt right at home when the "what's up and where have you been?" was directed to us.

We had a small group come in for dinner and the service was terrible. (The restaurant was less than half full.) The waitress brought drinks out at different times and even forgot a few people. The food took forever to come out. It was just ok. People were ordering drinks and it would take a good ten minutes or more to get there. The only time the water was refilled was when it was spilled. The birthday girl ordered dessert and it took over 30 minutes to come out. When it came time to take the checks, the waitress was nowhere to be foumd. We for there for over 2 hours. Definately will NOT go back.

I was saddened by our experience last night. Our food was alright. Nothing special except for the jalepeno fritters. THOSE WERE FANTASTIC! Everything else seemed just ok. Those of us who had fried fish enjoyed it. Coleslaw was the worst I have ever eaten. Kids pizza was microwaved and too hard for the kids to eat. The service was ok at best. It wasn't terrible, but it seemed to take forever for drinks and dessert. The rest of the restaurant was pretty slow. Probably won't return.

I love this place. The staff is warm and funny, the food is great, prices are very competitive and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Plus they run the best drink specials! Blackberry Margarita anyone!?!?!?

I was so disappointed in going to this place especially after passing up Cheesecake Factory and all the other good places in Southpoint. I got a steak and it was dry and terrible. My girlfriend got seafood pasta and she said it was terrible. So the food plus the terribly slow service made it a bad experience. I would suggest going the opposite direction if you see it.

We were there this past Saturday night really enjoyed the live music on the patio! I can't remember the last time I have had soft shell crab, but it was a welcome surprise(I think it was the special, so if might not be on the menu?). I nice to see a casual, fun place at Southpoint to enjoy!

Cheap drinks, great food, and live music on the patio! Love it! The staff is very friendly, not robots like some other chains and the food is really good at a really good price. I love the drink specials and the fact that they have live music on the patio with no extra charge.

My margarita was weak, I ordered chicken and got fish, by the time my chicken arrived, everyone else was done eating! The chicken was fatty and disgusting, I ended up throwing it out. The gumbo was greasy according to my friend and her crawfish etouffee was inedible. The Full Moon plate was greasy and not very good. The gouda spinach dip appetizer was actually very good - that's the only thing I can recommend. Service was a bit slow, but the atmosphere was cute. All in all, I would never recommend Rockfish to anyone and I will certainly never return.

Everything was completely slow. We were very slow to be seated (even though there were plenty of empty tables). It took at least 15 minutes for our drink and appetizer orders to be taken, then the drinks weren't delivered until the appetizer was brought out. The food order was taken and wasn't delivered out for almost an hour. Since the kitchen is open, we could see half our orders (the chicken strips and such) sitting under the hot light, for almost half an hour!! When the food was finally brought out, it was cool almost cold. But we were so hungry by the time the food finally came, that we just ate it. (we were scared at how long it would take to return it) once we finished our meal (and FINALLY got our check) we presented the waiter with a coupon that we had, which he refused to take. Well, he refused to take it, after he walked around trying to find the manager for about ten minutes... We ended up getting so tired of waiting, that we just told him to forget the coupon and just ring us up at full price.

It was completely ridiculous.

Because there are many restaurants in the Triangle that give you excellent food & excellent service, there is no reason to dine at a restaurant that gives you satisfactory food & terrible service. The last two times my wife and I dined at Rockfish Seafood Grill, they had run out of cedar planks for their Cedar Plank Salmon, my wife's favorite and one of the restaurant's most popular entree. According to the waiter, running out of cedar planks at Rockfish Seafood Grill is not uncommon . So why not increase par levels? Another member of our party ordered the Sirloin Steak, but was later informed that they had run out of steak also. Still another member of our party ordered coffee with his meal and was told that there was no fresh coffee available. How long does it take to brew fresh coffee? The restaurant was more than half empty when we dined, but it still took an extraordinarily long time for our food to arrive.

Overall, the food was satisfactory, but the service was slow and inattentive, the restaurant appeared untidy, and the missing menu items were a source of frustration. At the end of our meal, we asked our waiter to split the check for us, and that's exactly what he did. Instead of each couple having their own check, each meal had its own check. So we had to sort out the checks and each couple had to make two separate credit card transactions. Obviously, we will not dine at Rockfish Seafood Grill again.

The seared tuna appetizer is great - they apparently have their fish flown in every week (from Alaska?) Anyway, the appetizers are fantastic, even the crabcakes. Wouldn't recommend the dinners, as they're average. Sit at the bar and fill up on 2 appetizers and great drinks instead. Good seafood is hard to find, but we've found it here on many occasions, and will continue to go back for more.

4 people at our table, 4 tables in the whole place. One would assume less than 35 minutes to get dinner from the time we ordered. Here's the kicker - one of us had an issue with dinner, nothing earth-shattering, just something she wanted to clear up with the manager. He refused to come over and address the issue. Flat out refused to talk to us. Take your $ to any of the other restaurants if you're going to eat at Southpoint. There are 100 other places to get average food without putting up with the horrid service you get here.

I ate at Rockfish last night and was surprised at how good the food was, especially for a restaurant at the mall. The fish and chips was very good and was reasonably priced at around $9. I was served 3 large fillets of fish, slaw, and waffle fries and took home about 1/2 of the meal for leftovers. I would definitely go back.
