This is an awesome cave too see stunning formations, rooms, stalactites and stalagmites, it rivals Mammoth Cave in Kentucky....but if you really want a treat, get there in time for the bat show that starts around sunset! Millions of small bats pour out of the cave mouth like thick smoke, in the nightly hunt for insects...it is really amazing to watch! Don't worry, the bats won't hurt you...they only want bugs. Great for kids and fun for all!
Another plus, if you are camping- hardly any flies or mosquitos...the bats have eaten them all!

Carlsbad Caverns National Park is a beautiful place in the middle of nowhere in lower New Mexico. The fees are very minimal, $6 for a self guided adult tour, and children under 5 are free. They do require anyone under 16 to be accompanied by a parent. They have the most beautiful cave rooms, and park rangers walk the cavern to answer questions. Wear comfortable shoes and be ready to walk some steep trails.

This was a great place to stop by on vacation. Its located in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Its a series of caverns that have a couple different routes you can take. Their are paths that go all the way down to the bottom. You get to see all the jagged rock that hangs from the ceiling of the caves and forms different designs. This is a must see if you get a chance.
