This is the place to go to get an in-depth understanding of what life was like in the area during the late 1700's, which is when the mission was established. You get to see the barracks, where Indians made soaps/candles, etc. There is also a gift shop here as well as a church. The altar inside the church is breathtaking and ornate. It's a great place to take the family. You get to learn history while having a fun time.

PROS: Low entrance fee and good place for family outing
CONS:

Mission San Juan Capistrano is the oldest place of sgnificance in Orange County. It is a beautiful place to spend and afternoon amid it's beautiful gardens. The Mission dates back to the 1700 and gives the visitot an idea what life was life back then. Learn about the mission system and the indians of the area which helped create it.
