Dr. Schubert saved my life!
17 years ago I was a teenager and had weird neurological symptoms. My pediatrician did not diagnose my problem but immediately sent me to see Dr. Schubert. Dr. Schubert saw me immediately at her office in Brookdale Hospital. She immediately new exactly what was wrong with me (she gave me a diagnosis of GBS) and immeidately admitted me to the hospital and started treatment for my condition. I recovered completely (which is not usually the case for those who incur this illness) and within a very short time (two weeks) due to Dr. Schubert's expertise in immediatley identifying and treating my condition. (Untreated. GBS can be fatal.) I felt confidence & trust in Dr. Schubert and felt as if she spent enough time with me and answered all my questions/made me feel comfortable under her care.

My son is 2 1/2 and he has a speech delay. We waited for two months to get an appointment with her. We arrived at her office 10 minutes before our and when we made the appointment we asked for the first appointment. we were suppposed to be the first patient instead were bumped and she didn't show up until 1 hour 1/2 later so my appoint was at 10:00 we didn't see her until 12:30. Therefore my son was tired and very upset because he was missing lunch and a nap instead of saying lets reschedule she tried diagnosing him with PDD spite the fact that he never tantrums except this one day in front of her because of waiting 2 1/2 hours just to be seen. The worst experience of my life. Thank God I am smart enough to have a second opinion and never step foot into her office again. My son never had a chance to get a fair diagnosis. We need to inform other parents like ourselves. She acted as if she was telling us our son had a cavity. She never even asked the good things that he does just the negative. No bedside manner whatsoever.

This is the best pediatric neurologist my 4 years old son and I ever visited with. From a parent's point of view, the Doctor has really warm and friendly personality. She has a wide view on a kid's problem, raised by a parent and makes really good diagnostic. She's supportive and is responsive. Dr. Schubert is very knowlegable, and referres to differnt resources in her findings and conclusions. She is always up-to-date with the latest news and disclosure in her field. The schools she works with, give her the highest rate. I agree with them and highly recommend the Doctor.

PROS: You get the best care, advice and support.
CONS: 5-6 months of being on waiting list before the first appointment.

Dr. Schubert treated my son, who has PDD, which is a form of autism, from the time he was about 3 until our insurance changed and we had to change doctors last year. She was the one who diagnosed him and boy, was I shocked.

I think she's an excellent doctor. She helped him so much throughout the years. We were afraid to try medications, but when we finally had to, the one she suggested helped him so much. Because of her, he was able to continue going to school in inclusion. She's very knowledgable, and takes the time to listen to her patients and their parents.

Her office is conveniently located near Methodist hospital. I believe she has a specialty in treating epilepsy and has written several articles about it that you can find online.
