i love their hong kong style food that you hardly can find in the area. they have different kind of chinese food compare to others. i read the other's review saying something like hot sauce is not fresh. that's so funny that how could you expect "fresh" sauce? or should i expect fresh made ketchup from macdonal.

It is an unbelievable experience, the service was quite unpleasant by a male employee. There are so many Chinese restaurant in the area, we really didn't have to go to Maria, just happened we were in the Congressional Plaza shopping. What happens was we ordered two dishes soon before we finished the meal, we decided to order additional meat ball to be taken home with the remaining left over food, the cost of which was $3. we had to go through quite an argument for the servant to take the order; it said clearly on the menu additional order of certain items were $3, but it didn't indicate the extra should be ordered at the time of placing the first order, the servant looked at us like we were retarded for not knowing the procedure. They finally honored our request, but we will not recommend anyone to go there with a great potential of the poor service. IN ADDITION, hot sauce served as condiment in a jar did not appeared to be fresh.

I WAS WRONG TO ORDER A BIRTHDAY CAKE THERE !!!!

1) The order of my birthday cake was told not sanding to the factory ---- the girl told me that she was not on duty while the order was placed.===== SO IT IS NOT HER FAULT.
2) Another girl came and gave me one from the refrig and told me it was made in the morning plus could give you one dollar discount or take one of their bread. ------ I was hoping more sincere apology (She did say sorry twice.) from her. ====== I MIGHT BE MENTALLY ASKING TOO MUCH.
and then -----
3) I was too stunt by their "precious" discount to react it in time, because I just had their bread yesterday and this morning. I was hesitating. This girl was too busy to be patient to my hesitation and asked 'What do you really want?' ----- I was feel guilty to trouble her with this unhappy result in her busy day. ====== I BROUGHT THE CAKE FROM REFRIG HOME WITHOUT BOTHER HER WITH ANY DISCOUNT OR A BREAD AND PRAY VERY HARD FOR FRESHNESS OF THIS CAKE.

I WAS WRONG TO RELY ON THEM TO CELEBRATE MY KID'S BIRTHDAY.

Just drove past congressional and noticed the sign was gone...

Just wondering...

I love their "HK diner Style" menu. Reminds me of home... Really enjoy their food. Can't get it anywhere around the Washington DC area...

Great food, they recently moved their store and now offer a restaurant as well. In here you can find unique Chinese dishes along with pastries and buns that you might like. Try the pork bun!

They also sell cakes and sweets, which are excellent. The taro cake with fruit on top is wonderful, not too sweet.

Be sure to visit this place if you're in for a new taste of Chinese food!

PROS: Great food, pastries

I've ordered 3 whole cakes from them and each was just GORGEOUS AND DELICIOUS. They have several flavors to pick from and so far my favorite is taro. They also have other exotice flavors such as chestnut, and you can also special order them to your likings. They carry various types of breads with fillings in individual servings and they are so yummy. The prices are competitive and I often go there to get my bake goods fix. They also have bubble tea and ice cream. If you've never tried Chinese bakery, you should visit here!
The front part of this place is the bakery part, and the other part is the cafe part. The menu is Asian-ized Western food, which I think is kind of interesting. I don'd know any other place that serves food like this. It's interesting enough that I go back to try more items on the menu.

PROS: Wonderful Chinese baked goods at competitive prices!
CONS: They recently raised their prices on the breads, but only by a dime!
