I am shocked at the reviews for Dr. Jackson. I have 4 children and have been very picky with choosing my pediatricians. Our pediatrician retired and I tried several before I found Dr. Jackson. We LOVE her! She is great! I have one special needs daughter who is 4 and Dr. Jackson has been WONDERFUL in her care! The waits are very short, but I do remember years ago, before they moved to their new location that they were long. I would highly recommend Dr. Jackson to my friends and family. She is a GREAT Dr and very patient with the children.

It's horrid even trying to get an appointment of any type, there's usually a long wait on hold to get someone. Once in the office, it doesn't improve. I once waited over 4 hours for Dr. Molock - literally!! I asked the office staff if I should simply leave and come back, and they kept saying, "Oh no, it will just be a few minutes more." I found out later that the doctor wasn't even in the building!!!

They also told me at one point, I needed to wait outside while they examined my 6yo daughter. They said the children are more comfortable with the parents out of the room. I said they have no reason to see my daughter without me present. Also, they asked me whether I have firearms in my house - something that is NONE of their business.

Dr. Jackson and Dr. Shannon Herd have horrible bedside manners. I brought my 2yo daughter in for a sore throat. I told her to open wide so Dr. Shannon Herd could take a swab of her throat, and the woman jammed the q-tip into the back of my daughter's already very sore throat. I asked why she hurt my daughter even more than she was, and she said it was the only way she could get a clean swab. I could understand if the child was putting up a fight about it, but she wasn't fighting it at all. She had her mouth wide open.

Dr. Hal Herd is very good, but he is the only one I'd rate as good in the office. They are very much an "assembly line" type of care facility. Overall, I'd rate them extremely poor.

I love Gwt Peds! Have used them since my son was first born and he is now almost 5. The call advice nurse option is wonderful and has saved me many trips that I didn't need to make. There is a wait at times when everyone is sick, but when a group is that way, you can expect that. I have my favorites and love the pharmacy option at the L'ville location.

I have three children and all went to same pediatrican. I have had bad and wonderful experience. If you want someone that cares go Dr. Pitts. He is always nice and really genuine human being.
As always use your instinct b/c sometimes you are just a number and they really don't care. As for me and my kids we only see Dr Pitts b/c we never come out unfulfilled. God Bless you Dr.

We started with Gwinnett Pediatrics when my now-18 yr old was born. All 3 of my children are patients there. My 18 yr old still prefers to go there even though it's obviously a children's place b/c she adores Dr. Cole and she feels like Dr. Steele is a family friend. All the doctors are down to earth and are very friendly to the children and parents. Thru the years, there have been many occasions when they have worked us in to keep us from having to go to the ER. There have been times the phone nurse has talked us thru things to save us from having to come in for an office visit. Or if they can tell from my description that my child will need an XRay or test that they don't do there, they will just send us to the appropriate place, therefore saving us the time and money of an office visit w/the pediatrician when it's not necessary. We usually request Steele, Pitts, or Cole. But they are so good about getting a sick child in "that day" that I am often just grateful for an appt no matter which doc we can see, and we have never had a bad one. The ladies in the office are always helpful. Yes, there is a wait on the phone to schedule an appointment, and there is a wait for the doctor once you're there. When looking for a restaurant, do you look for the one with people waiting over an hour for their meal, or do you prefer the one that has no customers? This is an established practice with board certified docs who are excellent in their field. Because they are very gracious about working in extra patients and b/c the docs take their time to listen to & treat every patient with respect, it does take them longer. Some things are worth waiting for.

I have mixed reviews to give.

We love Dr. Smiley and Dr. Molock. The nurse practioner that we have seen before is also very good.

Having said that, we have had two experiences with Dr. Jackson, and both have been bad. We will not see her again.

The office staff is great. You may not see the same Dr. each time but you give that up to have the opportuinity to get in quickly. Both my children are patients with this practice and have seen different Dr's. Dr. Smiley is the BEST! Dr. Stickney is the WORST!

I have had my share of experiences with this practice and their doctors. The 1 doctor that is consistently good is Dr. Smiley. She is very patient, remembers my daughter and her history, and really listens to my concerns. The scheduling staff is sometimes difficult and the wait time is lengthy but I like seeing the same doctor.

We love Dr. Susan Smiley! Her name says it all. Each time we see Dr. Smiley our daughter receives excellent quality care. Dr. Smiley is personable and remembers us. Our two year old daughter frequently takes Dr. Smiley her "art-work" which is always displayed in her Lawrenceville office. Dr. Smiley lets our daughter hang it up on her wall where we see her previous works of art as well as the other children. Each visit with Dr. Smiley is thorough and never rushed. Yes, sometimes we have to wait awhile, but why mind when we know our daughter will receive the same time and attention all the other children receive from Dr. Smiley. We recommend Dr. Smiley and we love her!

Long waits on the phone. It's like trying to win a contest on the radio to get in at Hamilton Mill location. If I'm going to drive to Lawrencevill from Hamilton Mill Rd. then I may as well change offices. The only good Doctors (Except for Chris, Dr. Mullock and Dr. Steele) have LEFT!!!

I made an appt for my son with special needs to have his annual check up & received TERRIBLE treatment from Dr Jackson. The wait was long and we were treated as if an inconvenience to her. Excess charges were applied to my insurance carrier for our "special care". This was a first and LAST visit for us. If your child is not 'typical", think twice about this one.

My daughter is 9 months old and I have been using this group since just before she was born. I think I have seen a different doctor at each visit and I haven't found one that I don't like. They are very personable and take the time to answer any questions you have. They have a phone nurse that is always available and has always given me a fast response.

The reason I didn't give the group 5 stars is that the wait is always long even if you have an appointment. I feel like the wait is worth it, but I wish they would spread out scheduling to make the wait less.

I have used this practice for the care of both of my sons. I have had both good and bad experiences at their office, and the level of care I receive seems to be very inconsistent. The wait time tends to be quite lengthy, which is hard to cope with, especially when waiting with a young child. I have had some negative experiences with some of the doctors, whereas I have had great experiences with others. In particular, I would not recommend Dr. Quisling.

The pros of this practice are that they keep excellent track of health records, and are mostly friendly. They also have good hours, and can get a sick child in quite quickly.

PROS: Good hours, quick to see sick patients
CONS: long wait

They are great. The Doctors and staff are excellent and very professional. My daughter was a few months old when I called close to the closing time about her having a fever. They told me to come in right away eventhough it would get there after they had closed. My daughter was fine but it was great to go there than have to go to the ER.
