The stylist I had was so knowledgeable, answered all my questions and showed me how to style my hair. She was excellent. She understood what hair issues I was having and gave me great tips to solve those issues. She also listened to what I'm willing to do with my hair and had great suggestions on what cut would work best for me. I'm definitely going back for my next cut.

I am of mixed race and have very particular hair. Shelly Smith does my hair and does a fabulous job! She is SO knowledgeable, professional and really friendly. I am NEVER disappointed. The other staff members there are also very friendly and their clients look great too.

We had followed Ambra from the Dilworth Salon to the Birkdale salon. This is the 3rd time we have had Ambra do my daughters hair and it turned out fantastic. She is wondeful with blonde highlights. We drive from Charlotte to Huntersville just to have Ambra do her hair. I also would like to say we liked this salon set up much better. The Dilworth salon is all open space....the Birkdale salon is so much more cozy.....you don't feel like you are out in the open. You feel more private when your head is covered with foils. I would recommend this salon and Ambra for your highlights....absolutely.

Abbee is fantastic! At last I have found someone who makes my hair look great! Abbee always gives me the best cut, color and highlights. When I go to her I know that when I leave I will look like a million bucks! Thank you so much Abbee! I also want to let everyone know that Abbee did the Rejuvenol Brazilian Keratin Treatment on my hair and I absolutely love it! No doubt I would do it again! My hair takes half the time to dry and style and looks so shiney and healthy! Never have I had so many compliments on my hair! I highly recommend this treatment, never has my hair felt so good and looked so good. It's great knowing that humidity, rain, or perspiration will no longer affect my hair, I have the confidence no matter what the weather, my hair is going to always look its best! Abbee has been doing my hair for almost three years and I wouldn't go to anyone else. She always has great ideas for highligting my hair, knows how to give a flattering cut and always styles it to perfection.

She is a pleasure to go to and makes my hair look like a million bucks. I recommend her to anyone looking for a talented hair stylist who works tirelessly to make sure you are happy.

Anyone with fine hair knows how difficult it is to find a good stylist. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have found Shelly Smith, Master Stylist at Haircolorxperts in Birkdale. She was better then good! Shelly took her time in discussing what I was looking for, and when asked provided suggestions. I came away with a new style, expertly cut, and the best coloring I've had since I left New York 5 years ago.

I finally found a salon and stylist that knows what they are doing. Ambar is an excellent hair stylist and listens to what you want done. Then does it and does it Well!!The Salon is professional and notifies you to remind you of your appointment. I appreciate that service.
My highlights were done wonderfully and above and beyond. Ambar knew how to work with my hair and cut it beautifully.

I am very reluctant for new people to touch my hair. I found that a couple of friends go here and have Sara Jarvis do their hair. I went to her for a highlight, LOVED IT and it cost me about $250 less than where I was going...
I called last week to make an appt and Sara was off, she came in and cut my hair anyway b/c there was no other day I was available. I now also take my daughter to her.. LOVE HER!!!

Reluctant to try another salon that could not only get the color right, but also a trim that doesn't look like a hairCUT. I definitely needed a professional that knew how to trim wavy/curly hair. I found that with Marcia at Haircolorxperts. She also did a great job on my color. I had been trying to do it myself and made it too dark. She corrected my mistakes without making me feel dumb. I really appreciated that! :) Looking forward to my next appointment!

Shauna is the girl! Everyone is soooo knowledgable and friendly. Beth is wonderful as well! They are not pretentious (sp) or "snobby" just good ole southern girls with northern hair know how!!

I had just moved to the area and couldn't find a qualified stylist. My first visit to Haircolorxperts was fabulous. Shelly is by far the best colorist in N.C. She can do absolutely anything you request, and her suggestions are the Best! My color is the prettiest its ever been.

Ashley has been my stylist for 4 years and I love the way my hair looks - both the cut and color. I've changed the style several times since I started going to her and each time she has listened carefully to what I want to do differently - and it always looks great when she's done! She takes a lot of time to makes sure my hair is perfect before I leave the shop and I never feel like she is rushing to get me out of the chair. She's also been great about fitting me in to her schedule when I need to make a last minute change to my appointment. She is the manager at the Birkdale Hiarcolorexperts and does a great job balancing that responsibility with her attention to me when I'm there. Plus she's a really sweet person and I enjoy talking to her!

Beth is my hairdresser and she is wonderful. She always listens to what I would like to do or change. I never feel rushed during my haircuts or coloring. She always is on time and is very professional. I have been going to Haircolorxperts for almost 2 years. The salon is always very clean.

I moved here from NYC and was in dire need of a stylist who knew how to cut straight hair. In NYC you have to pay well over $100 for a great haircut so I never did find a decent hairdresser in the 3 years I was there. When I moved to Cornelius Beth Buchanan was recommended to me and VOILA!! Immediate success on cutting my stick straight hair so it looks like it has some body. If you have straight hair and don't want a perm, try Beth for cutting and styling your hair.

I recently received a hair cut from Ambra Groslimond at the Hair Color Xperts in Birkdale. I was hesitant to make this appointment because I typically go to a different stylist, but I was unable to make an appointment with her for this time - so I was set up with Ambra. She was very professional and listened to my very detailed instructions (i'm extremely picky) and her haircut was AMAZING. I will definitely be returning to her as my stylist.

Shauna is absolutely fabulous! She is super nice and makes me feel so comfortable every time I go in. I didn't go get my hair done on a regular basis until Shauna started to do my hair. Now, I look forward to going to see what great ideas she has for me the next time! I highly suggest everyone get color done by Shauna (especially blonde)!

Sarah always does an awesome job on my color and cut! I have dark hair and she always gets it right. My color comes out rich and shiny and lasts longer than other places I've tried. Sarah always takes the time to talk about what I want or how to change up my look just a little. The salon is clean and everyone is very friendly. Sarah is also great at recommending new products to give me the results I want (yay! microweb fiber for my fine hair!)
The price is also very reasonable and they tell you how much it will be before they start so no suprises!

Shelly at the Birkdale HCX is the best. The first time I used her was due to another salon's 3rd goof up on my hair. my dirty blonde hair had been turned red trying to go darker. I called and got app w/ Shelly that morning. Not only did she fix my hair without burning it up, she soothed my "OMG my hair looks like medusa" nerves. She is a really great colorist. I just took in a pic out of a catalog and she nailed it exactley! Highly recommended!!!!

If you are looking for someone to make you go truly platinum, my stylist, Shelly Smith is your go-to girl! She has never let me down! I spent years trying to find someone who could take me platinum, and I always ended up with yellow, brassy, even purple hair!! Then I did a search and someone had recommended Hair Color Xperts, so I gave it a try. Shelly has been my stylist for nearly 2 years now. Not only can she color hair, but she can give you a haircut like nobodys business! She listens, and uses the latest techniques to give the best cut for you. Incredibly customer oriented, Shelly spends time with you, makes suggestions, and ultimately gives you exactly what you want! She loves what she does and it shows when you walk out the door! Shelly is 5 stars in my book!!

I am getting married in October, and have been going to Shelly for all of my wedding prep. She has been so helpful and creative durring all of my wedding preparations from the hair choices, jewelry idea's, and even make up idea's. Shellyis not only a fabulous stylist, she makes you feel comfortable and welcome in the salon and gives you tips on how to enhance your daily beauty routine. I cant say enough how great Shelly is. I love my color, cut, and style that she has created for me.

Go see Sarah for a great haircut. She will take the time to look at your hair before she cuts it and work out a plan with your input. She's fresh and funky! The salon not only called me to confirm the appt. but called me the day after to make sure I was happy. Great customer service.

So we all know that moving to a new place is not easy! Especially when you find that hair stylist that you absolutely love and does a great job everytime! Well I moved to Charlotte about a year ago and was lucky enough to have found Shauna. I never really did a lot of color and just had your normal hair cut because I was trying to grow mine out! Well that all changed with Shauna! I let her experiment a bit using blond and red and putting more layers in, adding bangs, etc., and everytime it comes out perfect. I can tell you that in the past year I haven't had one complaint about my hair and I get compliments all the time about how great my hair looks. She's such a sweetheart and so personable! You gotta book an appointment with this girl!

I cannot say enough great things about Sarah at Haircolor Experts in Birkdale Village! Due to bad experiences in the past, I am that annoying person who tells the stylists exactly how to cut my hair, specific pieces to layer, precise strips to highlight, etc. The first time Sarah cut my hair, bless her heart, she was so sweet and put up with my bossy requests and she gave me exactly what I wanted! I continued to use her and each time she made suggestions and I loved everything she suggested everytime! Now when I see Sarah I actually tell her to "do whatever" because I know she knows what's she's doing, she knows what will look good on me and my ability to replicate the style! Sarah truly has the clients' best interests at heart!

I used to be a client at Haircolorexperts in south Charlotte and loved it, but since I no longer work down there, I figured it would be best to find a salon closer to home. I "salon shopped" for a while and, unfortunately, had one of the worst cuts of my life...I was afraid to say anything, in fear that the stylist would cut all my hair off!! Finally, I stumbled across Haircolorexperts in Birkdale and was thrilled. I took a chance and made an appt. with Abbee. After my first cut, I was hooked! (Not to mention that my husband told me I looked like a movie star!) She corrected my my terrible haircut and made me feel pretty again. I may not have been blessed with the best hair in the world, but let me tell you that Abbee makes it look beautiful and healthy. She is a wonderful colorist & stylist and a wonderful person. I have been her client for almost two years now and plan on being one for life. I would highly recommend her anyone. Thanks Abbee for making me pretty again :)

I have an 9 mth old and work a full time job, so am very busy. My time with Beth and my white glass of wine is sacred to me. I had a stylist in PA that I thought would never be duplicated and would just bounce form stylist to stylist whenever I felt like getting a cut. Since the first color Beth has exceeded my expectations with color and style and knows exactly what I like. i love the experience and consistency. . . .I highly, highly recommend Beth Buchanan!

Just recently moved here from out of state and had to do the painful search for a new stylist. I knew about and was a client of haircolorxperts when it was haircolorxpress several years ago in South Florida, so i was interested in giving them a try again. Especially after wndow shopping a couple of salons that had people with NO customer service skills at the front desk. As soon as I walked in, I experienced warmth and welcoming attitudes. It made me feel that they APPRECIATED my business.

Ambra was the stylist who was recommended for my color match need and curly hair challenge. She took control of my color and did an outstanding match along with fabulous new highlights. She got the tone and color right with my highlights as they can be brassy on me. She knew exactly what to do and I was confident in HER confidence. Yet, she still encouraged my thoughts and opinions...I've been to hair stylists who do what they want their way. She also passed the test of cutting curly hair and blowing it out straight...she had much expectation to live up to as my previous stylist was a master with the blowouts that lasted a long time. She did such a wonderful job...I will continue to go to her for future appointments.

I just recently moved here and I'm always nervous about changing hair stylists, so I went on the reviews here and was glad I did! The receptionist was very friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. My hair stylist was Sarah and she was fantastic! I felt like she really listened to what I wanted and took her time to make sure I was happy with the results. I will definitely return to see Sarah and I'm excited that I found a great stylist on my first try.

First off....I have NEVER written one of these reviews. Even when my hair has been butchered. I went in tonight to see Leslie based on what I had already read on Citysearch. Everyone that has seen her in the brief time she has been here (7 weeks so far), is absolutely correct! I had waist length, straight, BORING hair and was ready for a change. Where most would be scared...or do TOO much change....she had just the right balance of change and not being too over the top. She took off about 7 inches, and did a fabulous contract of hi and low lites. Although it is a "big" change...it is not over the top at all. I have very THIN hair, and she did subtle layering that makes my hair actually look fluffy and bouncy. I cannot believe it. I grabbed a few business cards and will tell everyone to go and see her! She is absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for doing what you did Leslie. I put ALL my trust in you, and you did not disappoint at all! Oh yea...her prices were actually surprisingly reasonable for all of her experience. I was amazed! Worth every single penny! You rock!

I went to Haircolorxperts in Birkdale Village for the first time last week. Leslie cut and styled my hair and she was AWESOME! She has over ten years of training/experience in California and it shows. From the start, she was professional and a pleasure to talk to. She listened to what I wanted and gave me her experienced advice. I walked out of there with a great cut and style -- got compliments all weekend long!
I was very happy with my experience with Leslie, I will definately go back to her, and I highly recommend her. She's very new to Lake Norman, so get in with her before she gets really booked up! I found her rates very reasonable in addition. What more do you want?

I need to highly recommend a hairstylist I discovered today. I had one of those traumatic experiences when I took on the tast of coloring my own hair using Henna. I chose to give the natural Henna hair dye a try and it came out anything but natural. The color was so ungodly awful, and as I went online to discover how hard it is to restore - the main advice being... "shave it off and try again", I realized I entered into a nightmare. I walked into the salon with my burnt orange with a slight black hue hair tucked underneath my hat and talked with Leslie. She seemed to know what she was doing from the start. With the color I had stained in my hair, my expectations were low. Anything normal looking would have sufficed. But Leslie far supassed what I imagined. I walked in looking like egor, and walked out of there with a more gorgeous fabulous color than I was originally aiming for when I tried to dye it in the first place. My hair will be in her care from now on.

Abbee Straight at haircolorxperts is the best stylist I have ever been to. I went to her about 2 years ago, and I haven't seen anyone else since. She knows all the latest techniques, and I trust her 100%. I never have to tell her what I want. She just always knows exactly what to do, does it perfectly, and I leave happy every time. I have several friends who saw Abbee before I did and they say the exact same thing. She's fantastic! See her one time and you'll be hooked for life.

I moved here 3 years ago from Tucson, AZ. I tried several salons in my area, and could not find anywhere I felt comfortable. A friend reccommended Hair Color Xperts at Birkdale, and although I live 45 minutes away from the salon, I made an appointment. I met Abbee there, and she is a hair stylist angel sent from heaven. She LISTENS! She is great at what she does... even when I was third trimester hugely pregnant, she was patient and offered suggestions when I couldn't figure out a style that would not make me look frumpy. The manager there will greet you when you walk in, and she has never failed to offer coffee or soda. It is a warm and friendly place where the stylists and clients chat together, comparing notes, lives, etc. I have ALWAYS had a pleasant experience, and I PASS about 20 salons just to get there. Also it is near a Starbucks, and that's a nice bonus.

Pros: Abbee in particular is great, friendly staff. Near Starbucks, & bookstore.

Cons: Toilet flushes twice, and I always worry someone will think I didn't wash my hands.

I have been a customer for two years now and Abbee is wonderful...i will not let ANYONE else touch my hair. My color always comes out amazing and my cut exactly what I'm looking for. I can give her an idea and she gives me wonderful advice. She is always up to teaching me new styling tips. I love the salon its very clean and all the ladies have smiles on their faces. The ladies in the front are quick to notice me and help me. I feel like my business as a client is well appreciated. I think Ashley is great keeping the place organized and operates the salon smoothly with alot of heart. I will continue to stay a customer for years to come!!!

The prices continue to go up the quality of service has gone way down. the atmosphere is warehouseish, uninviting,and the tempature is uncomftorably cold.

There is a new manager that has taken over the last year and is unskilled as far as customer service, or managing people in general. When you walk in you feel like you are bothering her to let you know you are here to see your stylist. She stomps through the salon like she is irritated and looks like she just rolled out of bed hair pulled up or wet doesn't even care to wear any makeup . How does a beauty salon represent themselves that way?

I have been a client for several years seeing a stylist in particular, she has been wonderful to me professional and makes me feel comtorable she took the time to listen to what i wanted every time i saw her. unfourtunatly i can not find my stylist. the manager will not tell me where she went. I have been a loyal client to my stylist not the salon, lula did my hair, not the manager or any other stylist.

Seeing the turnover the past few MONTHS i am not at all interested in trying a new stylist, there has been 5 stylist that have left within a month 3 of wich were in 1 week. New hire has less than 1 year experience and they come and go within a month. i specifically asked for one in particular and she was gone too. I am uncomftorable sitting in am empty salon and letting someone who has less than two years experience touch my hair!

In addition to the unprofessional management, you can see her irritation towards stylist, stomping through the salon I never felt comftorble asking if she would have a magazine. I am so dissapointed not being able to find my stylist ! If it weren't for Lula i would never give that salon a penny of mine.

My stylist was Abby, and I thought she did an AMAZING job, well worth the money. Really listened to what I wanted. I had a cut and highlights put in for a christmas party and was very nervous how it would turn out. I have medium brown hair, and a tan complexion but for some reason stylists always try to give me brassy yellow highlights. Abbee used color for the highlights instead of bleach, and the final effect was just what I wanted. She also took the time to teach me a new styling trick with the flat iron! Very happy, and will be going back again.

Laurie Mitchell is my stylist. She does a wonderful job at taking the time to listen to what you want and making sure you feel comfortable. She fixed my hair where another salon had messed it up. I have had a ton of compliments on my hair and its cut and color. Thanks, Laurie!
