After having Shout and another restaurant recommended by the concierge to be within walking distance of The W, we chose the other restaurant and headed for the corner. Just then it started raining steadily, and from our sheltered doorway we spied Shout just a few yards away. It was a great twist of fate for us, as we were dining rather early and had teenagers along. The service was awesome and personalized and the menu had a variety of offerings which addressed all of our preferences. The appetizers were fairly basic, but the sushi was great, the steak super tender, and the pork chop with cheese grits and turnip greens was heavenly. The miniature desserts made it too easy to share tastes of a few favorites as well. Hours after dinner, we were still commenting on how great the meal had been. We'll definitely return on our next trip to Atlanta!

Went to Shout to start out an evening of fun and ended up having the worst dining experience ever.

There were a total of five of us it started out great, Moscoto, Voss Waters, the infamous #2 and a Martini.

We ordered Mahi mahi, Steak, a white cheese pizza with pepperoni, crab cakes and a chicken salad.

When the white chese pizza was ordered it was requested w/o Ricotta, the steak was ordered medium and Mahi Mahi normal. The Mahi Mahi came back rubbery the steak came back extra well, as in charcoal black.

We sent the steak back it cam back seard and cold as hell in the middle. The pepperoni white cheese pizza came back with the ricotta scraped off and the pepperoni's on top. My friend was allergic to ricotta.

The manager Jim "punk ass" Davis treated us as if we ran off the plantation with all the cotton in our purses.

We told him about the pizza and showed him the ricotta and he told us that it wasn't ricotta as if no one knows what ricotta looks like. The he went to the back and got some shredded cheese and said it was ricotta. I wanted to tell him that my cousin is a Sous Chef and that I had been exposed to more than shredded cheddar. Needless to say he didn't do anything. Never apologized he was the rudest person that i've ever had to deal with. He argued with us. I have had better treatment at Wendy's.

Shout will not never get another dime of my money! That's a poor establishment business wise.

last year my prom group made reservations at shout for ONE table for thirty people...we came in on time and they didnt have our table for us because another group hadnt left yet even though we made a reservation. Then they made us split up our group into three other tables with my table being served and getting our food while one didnt get food and the other had to get theirs to go because we were late and our table had finished. Food was pretty good and the service wasnt too bad considering, but it was bad when at the end our server told us that it was at least 20$ per person and that if we didnt order more food they would just add the balance to our tab anyway. it didnt say anything about this on their website! By the time it was all said and done we were 3 hours late to our prom because of the terrible service and their not being prepared. i'm sure its great for two people who want to go out on a date, but i wouldnt reccomend this at all for large groups!

Shout is perfect for doing everything you want in one place. I love to take my out of town friends there to hang out. You can get some pretty good food. I like their sushi and tapas and you can get a little of the bar/nightclub feel without truly being in a nightclub. The outdoor patio is wonderful on a nice Atlanta night. It's also great for people watching.

We ate here in September with the intentions of doing the $10 all you can eat tapas they advertise on the website. We got there a few minutes before 9:00 and were told that the special ends at 9:00 but we could get it if we order quickly. So we started looking over the tapas menu to make our decision. We were all set to order a bunch of food, when our server informed us that the special is for a set menu. OK...... Let's look at the set menu then. Well, the "tapas" special consisted of soup, salad, sushi, a slice of cheese pizza, and something else I don't remember. None of this is tapas... Very misleading. Since we were already there and seated, we decided to order off the menu. My boyfriend ordered the short ribs with spinach and polenta. I ordered a wedge salad, beef satay, and shrimp potstickers. We also ordered a bottle of the house malbec.

The wine came out fast and it was decent. The salad came out quickly. It was smaller than I was expecting, but it was good. Then we waited for the rest of our meal. And waited. And waited. Our server came over and apologized for the delay. A large party upstairs had ordered just before us and the kitchen was busy. Hmmmmm... the rest of the restaurant was pretty much empty. What would have happened if they were busy too? Anyway, she was very apologetic about it and offered us some edamame to snack on while we waited. The manager also stopped by to apologize for the delay. That was nice of them.

When the food finally arrived, it was presented very nicely. It looked very artful and appetizing on the plates. The short ribs were very tender, but lacked some flavor. More seasoning would have been good. The spinach was good and the polenta was bland. Granted, it's hard to dress up polenta. Maybe they should reconsider another side for the short ribs? The shrimp potstickers were cooked nicely, but contained no shrimp that I could discern. The overpowering taste was ginger. Lots and lots of ginger. The beef satay was tender and flavorful, but the bed of cucumber salad it rested on tasted like mayonnaise. Overall, our server did a decent job. But the lack of planning on the part of the kitchen was disappointing and the food was so-so. We won't be back for dinner anytime soon.

The food here is so so. I went a while back and the sushi was pretty good, but I went recently and had a sandwich that was nothing spectacular. I would go back for the patio, but probably not for the food.

I went here with my coworker for the first time recently and it was a pleasant surprise. I am a big fan of the sister restaurant 'twist', but I think 'Shout' was a lot better. We went in for a late lunch so it was very quiet, but we got great service. I have not been for dinner or for a night out... but it seems like it would be a fun place. Very modern and I imagine it would attract a fun, young professional crowd.

Honestly, for being so 'hip' and 'trendy' I was expecting the food to be much better. The sushi is not very good, especially for the price you pay, but they do have a wide variety of foods on the menu. I went there for a friend's birthday - we ate downstairs, had to wait a very long time for our food that was not even close to what I was expecting, and they took an eternity to split the bill between our large group. I would recommend telling them who is on your tab before you start ordering. Getting past the not-so-delicious food, my drinks were great. The birthday girl was not as impressed with her drink and had to have it re-made a few times. The roof-top bar was definitely something they can brag about as the views of Peachtree Rd are great. I would not recommend dining there, but I would go there again just to meet good friends for drinks.

We have been here dozens of times since it opened a few years ago. The food is good as is the service. There are two patios. Both are good but the upstairs patio overlooks Peachtree street and is the place to be on good days. If you want more romantic or quiet, sit inside downstairs. The booths upstairs on the patio are awesome and seat 6 easily. I have had just about everything on the menu. You can't go wrong with the sushi or the steaks. Avoid the baked potatoes---they are always undercooked and hard. It's a place to see and be seen. Jeans are fine but at night you see a bit more dressy casual. It's in Midtown so its attracts a very mixed cosmopolitan crowd. If you can't check your prejudices at the door you probably should go elsewhere.

I've eaten at Shout twice-once in the afternoon and once in the evening. My friend from Minneapolis and I sat at the bar one afternoon, had a few glasses of wine, and experienced THE BEST sushi either of us have ever had. We were both in the military so we can honestly say we've been outside of our hometowns and experienced more than most folks. I had the good fortune of traveling extensively overseas for 12 yrs. I've eaten sushi in countries that I probably never should have taken the chance (luckily, my GI tract survived unscathed), and I've dined in downtown Tokyo at a classic, "boats floating around the joint, pay by the plate" sushi bar. While the experience of being in Tokyo and eating sushi was cool, I still have to give props to Shout, right here in Atlanta, Georgia, USA! I had the "Sushi/Sashimi for One" and she had some kind of crispy Dragon roll. Now I won't go anywhere else in Atlanta for sush. I took another out-of-town guest from NYC there a few weeks later......same experience. And by the way, as far as the price.......really, REALLY, reasonable.....especially for the absolutely top-quality of the food. Now the 'Nay' part; I will say that the service we received on the second visit was "slow". But then again, it was a Friday night and they were REALLY busy. Oh yeah, and we didn't have a reservations but we only waited about 10 minutes. And yes, the place was packed! All-in-all, I give Shout a definite "Two Thumbs Up". The food is AMAZING, the restaurant itself is very trendy and the ambiance definitely adds to the whole experience. Just make sure to check the business hours here on 'Citysearch' and go when you're not in a rush. That way if they're busy, you won't confuse the outstanding quality of the food or miss a quality dining experience with a "the world revolves around me and I expect everything NOW" attitude.

Cons: More light would be nice (to read the menus by), the service was a little slow, kind of noisy.

I go to SHOUT often and can always expect a good time. I often go by myself, and wind up with plenty of interesting people to converse with. The bartenders are really good. They always take good care of me. I think the drink prices are fair, and reflective of any other bar in Midtown. The upstairs has a really great view. The dance floor gets going around 10:00pm on weekends. I don't particularly like to dance, but I will grab a chair, eat a fresh, hot pizza and watch the ladies. I enjoy the scene, but I am easy going and don't criticize establishments for what they are not. You can find flaws anywhere if you are looking...but SHOUT is doing a lot of things right, and I always have a good time.

I tried to do some research before deciding to host a birthday event at Shout. I read a review from September, but assumed things would have gotten better since then. My friend called & made reservations. We were a bit late getting there & a few of our friends cancelled at the last minute but most of our party were there. We too, had the terrible, lack of a waiter Ricky. It took FOREVER to get our orders, from food to drinks. He NEVER came to check on us. The cook came to check on my steak & we had to stop other waiters to get our orders. When Rick (refuse to call him a waiter) brought us our tab, they FINALLY brought my sister's steak (the b-day girl) & my pregnant friends salad AFTER we waited for 30-45 minutes for it; by then they'd lost their appetite. On the bill, he combined everyones order, which no one NEVER told us they do, THEN they tried to charge us $20 per person who didn't show up. HA!! I thought people make reservations for tables so they won't have to wait for one when they get there. Oh, and the drinks are OVERPRICED & WEAK!!! $11.50 for a Jack & Coke, but then $9 for a Martini or Bombay splashed with Cranberry. Then, upstairs they have a club. It was OVER CROWDED! Shawty Lo was there so I don't know if that was the reason. They charge $5 to get in, even after paying $10 to park, but because we ate there we got in free. Then the security hassled me for ID after showing my $90 tab with like 3 alcoholic drinks on it.The bathroom was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! Flooded with toilet tissue everywhere. Only 2 stalls & tiny. It stunk, there were glasses all over the sink, toilet tissue rolls on the floor. Trash cans needed to be clean. So I started to go downstairs to use the restroom, but if you go out, they wouldn't let you back in. At the bar upstairs, some of the bartenders are SO unattentive. I actually was gonna tip but they never came back. All in all, it was the worst experience ever!!!!
Pros: Good sushi & my steak was good

I threw my 30th birthday party at Shout on 6/28 and had a great time. I had a party of about 30 people and had made the dinner reservation about a month before the event. I was helped by a woman named Paula who made sure everything was taken care of. She was courteous and very responsive to my questions and concerns. My party and I had a nice semi-private area in the rear of the restaurant with a long table that accommodated all of us nicely. The main server's service was okay- nothing to rave about, but I also understand that it's difficult tending to so many guests. The food was okay as well. I had the mozarella and tomato salad, which was really just tomato and mozarella cheese with balsamic vinegar drizzled on top. There was no "salad," per se, just some frilly green stuff on top, which may have been alfalfa or something. I scraped it off and ate the tomato and mozarella cheese. I also had a raspberry mint mojito, which I did like.

Overall, Shout was nice. I really liked the ambience, the music and the vibe of the restaurant. I would go again with a smaller group and next time check out the rooftop area with the Miami-style cabanas. I would recommend Shout to anyone who is into the downtown urban trendy scene. Dress to impress and be prepared to spend some $$.

Pros: Atmosphere, Music

Cons: $$, Parking

Service was terrible and the food was terrible. Drinks were okay and the atmosphere was nice. We ordered the Mahi Mahi- it looked disgusting and tasted awful. Even our salad was pre-made and tasted as though it had been sitting around for awhile. Very disappointing.

I went to Shout for a bachelorette party on a Saturday night. It started off bad when we had to wait to be seated after making reservations nearly a week in advance. 10 friends of mine made reservations for 10:00pm....we were seated at 10:40pm. Apparently a lot of prom kids were there so they were behind. So we were seated in a private area with another large party there for a birthday. I had read in another review that it was very dark and that was definitely the truth. Our area actually was a little better lit than the rest of the place. I started off the night with a banana hammock for $7.50 and it was pretty good but a little small for a cocktail (about the size of a scotch glass). There were several mojitos on the list for $8.50 which were very good also. I tried the Number two, Rasberry Coconut mojito, and a mai tai (which was not on the menu, but the bartender made it anyway). To eat, I had the crunchee roll on the sushi menu...very good. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food. One of my friends had pizza which I tried and also was good. However, tension seemed to rise when the waitress completely screwed up the bill of three of my friends, not once, not twice, but THREE times! She was polite at first, but when she brought the third bill she just gave it to her and walked off without saying a word.

After dinner (around 12:30am) we went upstairs to the patio/club/bar area. I had looked at the pictures on the official website and it looked relaxing, beautiful, and elegant. I didn't see any of that. It was crowded, loud, and basically like any average bar/club. I wanted to go to Shout because it looked unique, but it was really just ordinary.

Shout provides customers with a variety of items to choose from with their ecclectic menu. My roomate and I go there every Tuesday because it is half price bottles of wine!! The atmosphere is very unique and the rooftop patio is one of the best in the City. However the service at Shout tends to be a little on the slow side so if your in a hurry- you may want to go somewhere else!

Oh My Goodness!!!! That was awesome. Some girlfriends and I decided to go to SHOUT to celebrate my birthday last night (Saturday night). We had a dinner party that started off with 6 and ended with 10 and there were no complaints. Our table was in the back part of the restaurant so it was an intimate celebration...PERFECT. We had tons of fun making shout outs back and forth to the large party next to us (WHAT'S UP Chris!!!).
Drinks: First off the drinks were fabulous...the Fusion martini is a must!
Entree: Salads were good...the Caesar dressing needs a little work but the Chipotle Ranch got raving reviews at the table. We all ordered entrees since the tapas are a bit pricey. The Spinach and Cheese pizza are awesome. And the table shared the eel, avocado sushi and no one could stop talking about it.
Dessert: The Cheese Cake is very good. The brownie isn't anything to talk about.
People Watching: The original plan was to leave SHOUT after dinner and go somewhere else to finish the night. But SHOUT is amazing and that never happened...we went up stairs to check it out and ended up in a Cabana ordering drinks and hitting the dance floor. This one of the best places in Atlanta for people watching...great mix of everybody (A dispute broke out but security handled it before it got out of hand).
Music: The DJ was awesome. He played enough of everything and if you requested it he had it.
Needless to say we ended up with a group of 10 and we all had a fabulous time!!!! My birthday celebration could not have been better!!!! Thanks SHOUT for accommodating us.

Cons: Valet $10, Parking Garage $11 MAX (but you can leave when you are ready instead of the VALET wait)

This restaurant has amazing service. Inside was great. Very Hip and trendy. The overall presentation of the food, waiters, and inside was a 10. A very nice place to go if you want to dress up and eat great sushi and medditeranean pizza!

Wow! What a great Saturday night! I went into SHOUT with my girlfriends not really knowing what to expect. I heard that they had a DJ and a dancefloor....but I had no idea how much fun that could be. We had dinner at the bar downstairs. GREAT service! Then we headed upstairs and were greeted by a manager and ushered to a open cabana, where we proceeded to get another round of drinks.....and it was on! The DJ was very friendly, played a good mix of music. The bar staff outside was FANTASTIC, they joked with us and made us part of their fun. We never waited for a thing. So different than other bars in this town!!! (And there is no cover charge!!) The view from the patio upstairs is really cool, and the dancefloor is hot. I would highly recommend checking it out. But get there early if you want to sit down.

Citysearch, you are so outdated! You really do a disservice to all small business / restaurant owners in Atlanta by offering a forum for disgruntled guests to whine on incessantly about their "poor service", and "dashed expectations." I find your reports to be one-sided....not to mention from THE YEAR 2005!
Get it up to date!

You can always tell when a hot spot starts to decline. First, the crowd starts to get rougher. Management tries to implement a dress code (that's club speak for "plain white t-shirts"). The servers resent the patrons. Honestly, this place used to be fun on a Saturday night. Now you're lucky if you can walk to the bathroom without feeling like someone will try to start a fight with you. And I'm a woman, too! The security guards should help you feel safe, but they're just a reminder of how dangerous things can get.

There are so many other places where the music is better and the food won't cost you an arm and a leg. Go to them instead!

I'll admit it, Shout has some of the best sushi in town! Pizza and other entree's are good too but maybe a little too pricy for the portion you get. And half of bottle of wine night is such a great deal (Tuesday nights). However, if you're looking for a job i don't recommend serving at shout. Lunches are a joke and you will make NO money. Also, from my experience, there are certain manager(s) that choose favorites and can be unfair at times. I also don't like for my manager to belittle me every time i ask a question...I'm just not going to work for someone like that.

The meat from the steak is at a low grade, and the mashed potatoes were served too water (must have been powdered mash potatoes??) Also, our waiter had the nerve to inform us that we were eating at a fine dining restaurant. Have never been back, and never will, and neither will any of my friends.

For the owner if you are reading this. If you thought it would be clever to spend millions on fancy architecture and design, then you were wrong, and you will be easily forgotten. You need to get over yourself and get some QUALITY on your staff. That is if you can afford it and haven't spent all your money on the interior design.

This is a fantastic restaurant! The Langosta sushi rolls are to die for. If it's your first time trying sushi, you cannot go wrong with this. The presentation of your meals are superb and the knowledgable wait staff makes your dinning experience impeccable. I would recommend this restaurant for people that have friends and family in town. They'll love it the ambience.

not only does shout have great sushi among other things, but this bar caters to the 30 something Atlanta crowd beautifully. The inside is beautifully decorated with rich tones and has a lower level for eating and upper level more for those looking to find a bar to lounge by. and the staff is very kind and presentable. The outside Veranda boasts a large cirular bar in the middle, quaint covered socializing tables surrounding the walls, and as the veranda juts out one can find themselves seated comfortably and surrounded by towering buildings. If you are in your early 20's you may feel like it is a little too reserved for you and more for the late 20 + singles. However, if you would like a classy night paired with a classy outfit try this place.

We all know that some people have to pay to feel cool and some people have to suffer to feel cool. Well at Shout you get to do both. I went there for an event and waited 25 minutes for two drinks from a cocktail waitress. When they came, not only were they the most expensive drinks I have ever had, but they had added a 20% gratuity on the check automatically. Ha! I complained to the waitress and asked to see a manager. Both the waitress and the manager had horrible attitudes and refused to take off the gratuity. We left shortly afterwards, never to come back. If you are one of those people who has to buy hipness then this is the perfect place for you.

I honestly cannot think of how many times I have been to this place. Ever since me and the girls went the night before my wedding, it has been "the girls" spot. Not only do I go for dinner at least once a month, but I've had lunch here a few times and every time the food and service is just GREAT! The salmon, crab cakes and roasted chicken are my favorites along with a bottle of their house Merlot (go on Tuesdays when the bottles are half off) and you will fall in love just like I did!

When we went for my pre-bachelorette evening, there was a group of about 10 of us. They work GREAT with groups as well. We ended up having our own little section in the back of the restaurant that was secluded and away from everyone else. This made our evening even more fun because we didn't have to worry about bothering people at tables next to us.

We love to Twist, but somehow, we don't like to Shout! This looker of a bar/restaurant at Colony Square is way cool. Has a great singles scene going on, and some darn good drinks. Great spot to start the evening out, or finish. The terrace on the top overlooking P'tree is wonderful, especially in warm weather, and moonlight. The food, well if you must, just stick with the wood-fired pizzas. Service is right-on or miss, and wish it was more right-on. Many very good dining options nearby, just don't wander over to the opposite corner!

My first time at Shout was different from the second. I was quite confused when the restaurant didn't look the same from the first time. This just shows how many different "lounges" and styles the place has. I love their food, and thei sushi is excellent. Service however, was great also. My first time there I went as a VIP, I suppose. Second time there was around mid summer. The portions of the food aren't very large, but I sure do love it. The atmosphere is great!

We came to Shout tonight (Sunday) to have a work-related dinner and then proceed to an 8:00 show at the High Museum across the street. Our party of six was seated by 6:30 p.m. and our food order was easily placed before 7 pm. However, time went by and by 7:30, we still hadn't received our food. After several attempts, we finally managed to get the waitress to come over and she said she would check on our food. She came back later and said we still had 8 tables ahead of us. We were clearly unhappy, since it was now 7:40 and we were obviously not going to be able to have dinner now. And though the restaurant seemed busy at this point, it was maybe half as busy back when we had placed our dinner. I even saw a couple who had been seated at the same time as us get up and clearly, they had their meal served to them. Apparently, our waitress or someone in the kitchen dropped the ball. I have eaten at Shout before and thought the food was OK. But after this experience I refuse to come back here. Especially if I am trying to impress a client or have any time constraints. That kind of thing is just not acceptable with a restaurant that tries to be so high-end.

I went to Shout for the first time and had a reasonably good experience. I had a business meeting and was pleased with my overall experience. I was given a key-code to the wireless internet in the downstairs dining area. The connection was great, however, it was a little cumbersome having to wait for the key-code and then to enter it in manually from the document I was given. I had lunch on a Friday and was surprised that it was not more crowded. The hostess, waiter, and manager were very friendly and attentive. I really don't have any negatives about the service. The food was good, but not great. I was surprised that parking was not validated by the restaurant. I was there for about 2 hours and 30 minutes and had to pay $10 for parking. I thought the isolated booths was a nice touch. Pricing was a little higher than I would have expected.

Never again will this place have my business. I haven't been all that impressed the previous 3 times but this time was by far the worst experience. Dining on a Wednesday night - the place was practically empty. We got seated promptly (the only good thing) and it went downhill from there. We ordered salads, edamame, a sashimi appetizer and a Yummy roll. Not one thing on this order that would take long to make - most of it is not cooked! Yet somehow we ended up waiting 25 minutes for our food. And when it came, we were missing the salads and edamame! Our server was in her own world and was no where to be found. Once we finally got the salads and app, she never once came back to check on us. When we tried the sushi roll, it was soggy and cold. This particular roll is flash fried so it is served warm. Obviously our food had been sitting while our server took a smoke break or something. I had to get up to go find her to ask for a replacement roll -- and specifically told her we were in a hurry, going to a show at the Botanical Gardens. STILL waited yet another 15 minutes for the new roll. No apology offered for the poor service or food and no offer to comp anything. Ridiculous. The entire staff, mgmt included, are not customer oriented in the least. There are far too many other fabulous places in Atlanta to drink and dine - don't waste your time here.

As we entered and told the lady at the front we had a party of 8 she gave us an ugly face first. 2nd when we went to the upstairs patio we had to wait 20 minutes before we got noticed. People that came after us got served before us. Later on in the night our waiter was pretty strange and did a bare minimum of his job. We were excited about checking this place out but I'm pretty sure we won't come back.

I was shocked to see the negative reviews for this place. We have always enjoyed our experiences here and think that the food is great.

I had a party of 30 for my birthday. It took them 2 hours to seat us. Then they tried to charge me $60 for my cake that I brought in. The manager RUSSELL CLEBERT is very rude and inconsiderate. We got there at 9:00 and didn't finish

On Dec 19, I was a member of a party of 18 dining at Shout for a military Christmas Dinner. Reservation for the evening were made well ahead of time for 7:00 pm. Once we arrived the tables were not ready and there was no one upstairs.

I tried to do some research before deciding to dine here & I did find quite a few negative reviews, but I figured it'd gotten better. My friend made reservations. A few of our friends cancelled at the last minute but most of our party were
