I went here believing there would be multiple fresh produce stands. I was wrong. As mentioned in an earlier review, this is really just somewhere to take the kids to play and eat "junk" food cooked by the vendors.

There are only about 4 or 5 fruit/vegetable vendors out of what seems to be 30 booths. And avoid those few vendors altogether if you actually want fresh fruit and vegetables or want to understand what you are buying. I say that because, in addition to the fruit being of way lesser quality than the weekend farmer's markets in the area, the booths are not manned by the growers themselves as evidenced by the fact the people taking your money know nothing about the fruit and samples are hard to get. One vendor actually made me buy a plum in order to sample it!! One other thing, be prepared that most speak very little or broken English(until they ask for the money and sound like a Harvard grad).

Final thoughst: Personally, I think they should drop the "farmer's market" from the name and simply call it a "Family Festival" since that is really the purpose of it. If you want your evening to consist of a "fast food" dinner and letting the kids run around, this is the place. But avoid at all costs if your sole purpose for visiting is to shop for produce.

I would say that the majority of vendors here are selling prepared food. There are some produce and flower vendors; they can be a little pricey. We really liked heading over to grab dinner and listen to some live music and enjoy summer! Try the crepe guy, yummy!

PROS: Something fun to do during the week
CONS: Hard to find a spot to sit

This is held at the Northridge Fashion Center from 5-9 PM Wednesdays through 10/26/05. There is a farmer's market, live entertainment, lots of prepared food, a petting zoo and pony rides, a raffle, a temporary tatoo artist and various non-food vendors. It is a true family event and a lot of fun to go to. The produce prices are no bargain but there is definitely good produce. I like the fact that there area a number of reasonably priced non-food vendors. You can spend a nice time walking around and then to go to dinner at one of the several restaurants located at the mall. This is a yearly event that starts it April and runs through Oct. I truly recommend it.
