Rica

The dishes at Rica are a real treat. Items such as the ceviche and tacos (particularly the duck tacos) are succulent and unique. Old favorites like guacamole and calamari are done so well here, I may have ended my year long search for San Francisco's best calamari. The waiters and barstaff are quick to help you choose which of the flavored mojitos might suit you best. Bring friends and sit on the heated patio, it's a wonderful night out.

Rica is a high end Mexican restaurant with influences that span from asia to north africa and spain. The executive chef, Greg Mahuna, has delivered an amazing "taco chic" menu that includes a thai red snapper with banana salsa, lamb tacos, ancho ahi ceviche, and amazing desserts like a habanero pineapple sorbet. All the food is delicious and Greg's best talent is that he knows how to make great tasting food healthy. Most restaurant food is laden with unhealthy amounts of fat and sugar and Greg utlilizes fresh ingredients and interesting spices to create delicious meals that are healthy. For someone who eats out as much as I do, this is a great benefit. Also, don't forget to check out there bar which has amazing mojito's, margarita's and other cocktails.
