My husband and I have been members at this church since 10/08. We had extensive biblestudy to make sure we understood and agreed with what the bible meant and what this church believes, (which I wanted to make sure is the same thing).
I had a lot of questions about certain scriptures and issues in my life, and these leaders took A LOT of time to explain things to me. Not their opinions, but showing me scripture in the bible and me reading it myself!!! We were not pushed or prodded into being baptised or becoming members here. These people love us, in the full meaning of Christian love!
We are not perfect. We all have certain strongholds to deal with, knowing what we SHOULD do and doing the OPPOSITE sometimes, but true love is not letting someone continue to "fall" , but loving enough to help pull someone out of the "pit" and being real with each other. Having a personal relationship with God and our fellow Christians. We help each other by praying for each other and picking each other up when we need help.
This is what these committed members do!
As far as tithing, we've NEVER been "corrected" for not tithing enough or helping out enough. When you're truly a mature Christian you seek Gods direction daily (sometimes even minute by minute).
When a person ( Christian or not ) hurts you, going to that brother or sister and being open with them and forgiving each other is what Jesus teaches us to do.
We are TRULY so blessed to be a part of this church! The people there that we know in the church truly love us and God and follow Gods' teachings, which IS the bible.
If I ever have any questions or concerns about what is taught at Greater Houston Church, I am totally confident that I could go to any leader with the issue and be treated with respect.
Please visit and see for yourself!

Sincerely Yours,

Kelly Peal

The Greater Houston Church. I have been a member of this, or it's sister churches for 12 years. I was lonely. Friends and relationships always let me down. Meeting Jesus has givin me the proper perspective on these issues. Yes, i still get let down. Being Christian doesn't make anyone perfect. I had no direction in my life. Being challenged by the Bible and Brothers who love me has revealed character flaws that needed correction. Many have been corected and some still haunt me. I now have a purpose for life, I am professionally employed, with a wife and four wonderful kids. All to the Glory of God.

In this day and age of the internet, people have been led to believe everything that is written is true. Not so. Instead of taking what someone else says as fact, come check out the church for yourself. Be sure to bring your bible so you can check to see if what is preached is from the bible. If it is not, then run fast! If it is, then stop and listen. It just might save your soul and give you the peace God wants for your life.

This group is independent and strives to restore First Century Christian teachings and living to its members and through community outreach. Go here to learn truth from the Bible, not the opinion of men or committees of men. I personally have found this to be a refreshing experience, grounding me in the truth of the Bible and not the flighty "new insights" of general religion. It has done wonders in aligning my character with Christ's, built a solid marriage for my wife and I, and bringing an overall peace to my perspective.

My foster parents were Christians through and through and brought me as same. A around the age of 46 God brought me to the, once known, International Church of Christ. I am currently part of The Greater Houston Church which was birth from said church organization.. I know it had it growth problem. You know when a movement is part of GOD"s kingdom ,or not. It is when the body(congregation) holds each other accountable for teaching, preaching, shepherding & guidance with the word of GOD(the Bible) and that alone, not the teaching of man nor any hierarchy. GOD will also "sift" a congregation and, if they are listening, show the wrong direction it may be going. God did just that and when the dust settled we were birth as The Greater Houston Church. We still hold to the Bible teaching but we have grown in grace, love and a willingness to gently help the weak. This all came about by God's love for us. In the love of our Lord, I humbly say, it is time for people to stop this madness about the "cult". I am now 64 and wise enough to know a cult when I see it. I am still here and the congregation will grow by the Lords' will. We have wonderful Elders, Pastors, teachers and followers. Coming here, one will grown up loving GOD with all heart, mind and soul and loving family and people next. Blessings to all who walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
