We're new to the neighborhood and the victory cafe reminded us of an American coffee shop in Paris. Authentic, high quality and delicious, no frills, just interesting and warm. Coffee's very, very good and sandwiches/snacks we've had were well prepared. The staff was a friendly when we asked about the area... it's always nice to be remembered when you come in. The victory's a clean, comfortable place. Try the little oatmeal/choc chip cookie, I'm not a cookie fan but this is not a diet breaker and I have to admit it was good.

I also live near and appreciate a low (no tech) environment to have great quality snacks and drinks.
Of note- I bet you dollars to donuts that if you were in there and ordered then realized you forgot your money Patrick or anyone else in there would say- "don't worry about it, pay next time you come in"
They value being a local, neighborhood non-chain establishment peopled by individuals and I appreciate that. granted there is no reason to go somewhere that you don't feel your business is appreciated I encourage people to see for themselves if this no-nonsense high quality coffee shop is for them.
PS Dogs are now strictly forbidden

it is ignorant disturbing annoying and stupid to walk around all the time with a phone in your ear while doing business with the public.
and also there is a 'no cell phones' sign posted.
patrick is a "hot and cold" person so i am not speaking for him. he is moody and he is definitely friendly to some and not to others. but i don't pay any attention to it, since he is there to serve me coffee, not to be my buddy. and his coffee happens to be very good.
