This place sells jewelry, clothes, purses, and other goods made by local artists and craftspeople. Even though I don't live in the neighborhood, this is where I turn to find a gift for that person who has everything, or for someone who cares about supporting local artists. Many products also have a social benefit built-in. It is a well-run place where I can call ahead to see if they have what I am looking for, that might even stay open a few minutes late if I am running late. Highly recommended.

Mint is a brand new boutique in the trendy neighborhood of Lincoln Park. The small yet intimate and cheery space showcases only locally made goods such as greeting cards, jewelry, and other accessories. Every piece is artistic, unique and made by a Chicagoan, a very unusual find in a major city. The owner is very friendly and an artisan herself. A word of caution, however, the business hours are few and far between, but are posted on the website.
