We went on the Zephyr Yacht cruse by Circle Line. If you sit on the sundeck or the interior and can see both sides of the boat, I'm sure it's worthwhile, however, we sat on the left side of the boat, and all the narraration was about the sites on the right side of the boat, therefore, it was meaningless to us and very irritating, hearing "and on the right side". They should repeat the facts on the way back for the left side of the boat!

We're not tourists, but we decided to check out the circle line tour. We went in the evening, so we got to see all of the buildings on the way down, and by the time we made it to the end (by the statue of liberty and brooklyn bridge) eveything was lit up, so it was a completely different, but still incredible, trip back up. I was really impressed with this tour - definitely worth checking out whether you're in the area or not (and would be perfect for out of town guests). Just make sure you go on a nice day.

Everyone who visits New York City must take the Circle line boat tour. The boat cruises around the island of Manhattan. The views from the boat are amazing! It provides great photo opportunities. There is also a tour guide who broadcasts over a microphone and points out sights along the skyline. The boat pretty much runs year round. The view from the outdoor roof of the boat are the best but in the colder weather, you can ejoy the sights from the inside. The Circle Line is a must do on your next visit to New York.

Even if you live in NY, this tour cant be beat. You will see not only the famous, but the stuff that you wont normally notice. Althought the tour is 3 hours, the time zooms by and you're left wanting more. Try to avoid tourist season as it could get packed.

Circle Line does a great boat ride all around the island of Manhattan.

It leaves from the pier at 42nd street. The cost was (I believe) around $15 per person. The boat is spacious, and it has two levels. There is also food on board.

I learned more from this boat ride than I did from living in Manhattan. You pass the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, the Brooklyn Bridge, Yankee Stadium, Harlem, the Cloisters, and much much more. The tour guide was informative and funny. I highly recommend this if you are new to NYC or are just visiting, or if you are a native that wants to learn some new things about your city!

We had a nice ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty. The ride was nice and relaxing and the terrorists did not win! It was an exceptional trip to see a part of this country's history. The ferry ride was some and I felt safe. It was nice to have the choice to sit out on deck in the sun or sit under cover. I did not have much interaction with the staff so I cant 'tell you how they were. I would recommend the ferry though.

Me and my friends obtained free tickets for the Circle Line Cruise. Although I live in New York City I thought it would be a worthwhile experience for me to tour the Manhattan shoreline on a boat. When we got there the boat was three levels and we got on. The whole circle around the city took four hours. Because we didn't have to pay I wouldn't know about pricing. I got to see things I never saw before. I had lived in NY for so long and never saw such a beautiful view. I cannot believe what I was missing out on for all those years. The guides were very intelligent when we asked them what different buidlings were. Great.

We took the Circle Line out to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The lines weren't that long and the boats accomodated large numbers, so you didn't have to wait all that long. You must go see the Statue of Liberty while in New York and Circle Line is the way to get there. If you want to go up inside Lady Liberty, plan on being at Clinton Museum for tickets by 7:00 am as they sell out VERY early.

This is an activity we love to do each time we visit the "Big Apple"

One time we took the long three hour tour, another, the cruise to pay our respects to Miss Lady Liberty in all her glory, as well as the touching tour we took on Ellis Island. This is a cruise you should not miss if you haven't done so already, especially on a clear day as sunset approaches. But, since we had been on both of those longer cruises in the past we decided to take this shorter trip, the 75 minute Liberty Cruise, which just takes you on a short tour around the harbor of Midtown and Lower Manhattan..Get ready as you pass the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island for great photo opportunities. Besides, it is always a great chance to sit and enjoy the city from a different vantage point.

The cruises embark from Pier 83 at west 42nd street and 12th ave at the furthest western point of the city on the Hudson River. This is where all the cruises leave at various times of the day..You can buy your tickets there at their ticket booths

PROS: One of the best ways to see the city
CONS: sometimes there can be very long lines

Make sure to wear something appropriate on this cruise because there is no heater on the boat. I went in August and was freezing most of the time because it is largely open-air. But I had just arrived in NY and loved seeing lower Manhattan's skyline at night - it is breathtaking. A fun thing to do if you are new to the city or have guests.

PROS: Great views
CONS: Windy

Do you have an out-of-town guest showing up this weekend, demanding to be entertained all day by the sights of New York City? You probably aren't familiar with this company if you actually live in Manhattan, but Circle Line Cruises offer a number of tours around the city, most of which go out toward The Statue of Liberty, some of which stop there, and then toward the Brooklyn Bridge. If your guest has a digital camera she will no doubt spend over an hour clicking away at the various landmarks and tableaus, allowing you to ignore her for a good span of time before the bars open.

PROS: Good touristy waste of time. something you might not do otherwise
CONS: sea-sickness
