I was out Christmas shopping in the area and popped in as I'd been to the one in Dupont Circle. The dishes prepared in the restaurant looked and smelled divine, but I didn't have time to eat. I went next door to the tea shop, and found an interesting (but pricey) assortment of tea related merchandise (loose tea, teapots, teacups, cookies), and some handmade soaps that looked pretty. Nothing grabbed me but I did pick up some gingerbread cookies for snacking. However, the woman at the register was so rude to me when I asked for change to pay the parking meter that her co-worker and other customers were taken aback. The cookies were yummy, but I'll be taking my business else where.

I've eaten at the one near Farragut Square for lunch. The service was quick and the salmon was great! Plenty of choices for those that are not fish eaters. Salad was different and tasty. It gets really busy so finding a seat may not be the easiest.

Teaism is a chic tea bar and restaurant located right outside the Archives/Penn Quarter Metro station.

Pleasantly simple, Asian-inspired decor, very friendly service, and a menu that offers everything from ostrich burgers and bento boxes (both excellent) to the strange but addictive Dragonwell tea.

There are few tables outdoors, a few more on the upper level indoors, and a larger downstairs seating area. On Sunday nigths, the downstairs area hosts the DC Poetry Slam, an exciting and entertaining showcase of competitive spoken word poetry.

PROS: New and intriguiging dishes.
CONS: Slightly pricey.
