I really enjoyed going here. Its great for the little kids they seem to love it, Its not huge like other ones so your not there all day walking around with kids screaming they are tired. The prices are good compared to other ones. Its really clean in there i have never seen it dirty, and the gift shop is very nice too They have alot of things to buy i really enjoyed myself while i was there.

I found this zoo to be perfect for my almost 3 year old and 15 month old. There are enough large animals for young children to see and the zoo is small enough that the kids didn't get cranky. They enjoyed the sea lion feeding as well as the penguin feeding. They enjoyed walking through the rain forest exibit and after an hour they were satisfied enough to go home.

This is a pretty small zoo but nevertheles a great place to go if your already in Central Park or the local area and in need of something to do. I went during the summer and it wasnt too crowded there, mostly children accompained by their parents so there wasnt too much chaos everywhere. It was nice to see the animals they had, I really enjoyed the time I spent there, I would recommend to others.

Too many times when I go with my family to a zoo, we are not able to see anything because it is quite crowded. However, the central park zoo is an exception. Empty not due to its lack of attractions (we loved it, especially the cute white polar bears swimming the backstroke). But probably due to its location as its situated in Central Park. Make a fun day, go to Central Park and spend a few hours in the zoo.

PROS: Location (can do other things in the park)
CONS: Location (if not interested in the park, a bit of a waste)

What a perfect place to go if you love animals and are in the greatest city of all time. A zoo in the middle of such a big city is great. They have eveything you can ask for and it is safe.

PROS: animals
CONS: smelly animals

We've been to Central Park Zoo many times. While not the largest zoo in the country -- that is one of the reasons we enjoy it. You can get through the whole thing in a couple hours. The price of admission is still very reasonable. The zoo is surrounded by Central Park -- so bring a picnic lunch with you!! Our favorite spots are the penquin house (in the NYC summer, this is called the "coolest place" in the city!!) and of course the polar bears. You don't have to have kids to go to the zoo either -- my husband and I enjoy it quite often!!

This zoo is the perfect oasis right in the middle of Manhattan. Just a few short blocks from Bloomingdales is an excellent excursion for young and old alike. The Central Park Zoo may be the best buy in NYC. The rainforest exhibit is delightful and who doesn't love polar bears and penguin. Just outside the zoo proper is a wonderful little petting zoo (included in the price of admission) that is a huge hit with the little ones

Yes, the Central Park Zoo is small, but it's tons of fun and great for children! The penquins are the highlight of the zoo, happily zipping to and fro in their large enclosure. Admission prices are more than reasonable and won't break the bank like many larger zoos. The gift shop located on the premises is well stocked and has many unusual items at fairly reasonable prices. A fun little oasis in the heart of the big city!

Central Park Zoo is a great place. Many New Yorkers seem to forget that it even exists. It has high quality monkey and exotic bird exhibits. The penguin exhibit is also a favorite, especially among children. During the school year, this zoo is frequented my children taking school trips. If you find yourself walking through central park aimlessly (like many people) consider checking the zoo.

This zoo is incredibly tiny. There isn't a whole lot to spend time on, and there is even a separate price for the petting zoo. While a bit of a rip off for the price, it does have some cool animals to see in the middle of a city, like polar bears.

We extremely enjoyed our latest visit to Central Park Zoo and were very impressed with the new and improved Habitats for all the exotic and fascinating animals living there. By all means I would rather see them in the wild but since that was not an option I was pleased that I didnt walk away depressed as I use to when visiting the old Zoo. You can tell there was a very concerted effort by the Wildlife Conservation Society to make this new and improved Zoo one in which a person can see creatures they dont ordinarily get a chance to see and watch them in the most comfortable setting for them as can be provided and in a setting we can enjoy as well.

Don't miss the Sea Lion show, the Polar Bears and the Red Pandas.

The Zoo is open 365 days a year with changing hours as the seasons change

PROS: A small easy to do Zoo in the middle of the city
CONS: None

A great break from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, this Zoo and children's petting zoo are in the middle of NYC's famous Central Park. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It is affordable and has a great gift shop. The polar bear is very cute!

As recently spotlighted in the feature film "Madagascar," Central Park Zoo offers a gander at a rather small variety of animals in the midst of central park. Most of the exhibits are spread around an open area of the park and are gated off with ticket takers looking at passes. Adults cost 6 bucks, but children (up to 12) are only a dollar, so it's probably worth the value. but again, there isn't a whole lot to see (120 species compared to Bronx Zoo's 4,000) and you can see some of the highlights from outside the pay gates. Kids will probably want to get closer though. Those gates are also veeery short . . . .
