This shop has a great selection for anyone into collecting records. It's a bit overpriced, but it focuses on mostly new records, with a smaller used section. It's perfect if you're trying to get a new collection started. The CD collection

This is to a good friend. Thanks for all the Bruce. If you ever threaten me physical harm again, the last time being 20 years ago, i will laugh just like i did then. Have a nice day Bob.

The records were okay, but the people who worked there were such a**holes, I wouldn't go there again if you put a gun to my head.

I went to look through their 45s. Not only do they not have a turntable for listening, but the 45s are extremely pricey. The employees seemed burdened to have to answer any questions, and when they did answer they were brief. I recommend

More for the NYU kids and tourists than the real audiophile. Has a huge used section filled with rons of bootlegs and plenty of ontemporary alternative rock. Downstairs has a decent vinyl selection. THe $0.99 7 inches are worth lookign through for a once-in-a-while gem

They have some older stuff and definitely some rare hard to find stuff as well. What I like is they leave you alone until you really need help finding something. If they don't have it, you can ask them to put a search for it and order it for you so that you can pick it up later on. Prices are about average for a cd store.

Bleecker St. records was one of the first CD shops I found in the city. I feel it's full of the charm of the west village, a wonderful place to spend time just to browse while listening to the great music selection that is always playing. The selection value & price range varies, but the best part is the wide selection of hard to find CDs. They include live recordings, imports and singles.

For more of a bargain, the used CD selection is quite good, and also often has hard to find live recordings and imports. (It just takes a bit more browsing!)

Nicely laid out store with an even split between vinyl and CDs. They have a big selection but in tends toward known artists. They have a big selection of Live albums that you didn't know existed and a lot of obscure solo records from members of well known bands. If you're looking for lesser known people you're better off elsewhere, but to complete your collection of an old favorite you'll probably find something surprising here.

If you are searching for a specific album on vinyl or just enjoy browsing records, this is the place for you. However, if you are looking for a CD from an artist who may not be that well known, go to Virgin. Atmospere is fun, in a great

Pros: Atmosphere, Location, Vinyl Selection

Cons: CD selection, Customer Service

Good and bad. The dude is nice, they have some interesting stuff, but look for the offbeat. I found a vinyl copy of the Harlem Underground Band for $12, what a record. With that memory, I will go back, however don't look for anything well
