The movie selections here tend to be a cut above the usual movie theatre's. It's a bit of a throwback to theatres of the old days, before they were supersized and modernized. You can still see a movie here for $6 (Tuesdays and Thursday specials) and I've never seen it full, even though it's small (two screens).

this theatre is a hidden treasure....although the $5 nights are long gone... they are booking the types of little indies, foriegn and art films you can only find in Manhattan...it is cool and laid back and the staff is friendly...close to the brooklyn heights prominade and the brooklyn bridge...we like to eat at Noodle Pudding(Italian) and walk up 20 minutes before showtime...the concession has great coffee too!

A two-screen theater, Brooklyn Heights Cinema, like Cobble Hill Cinema a little further down the line, has a great Tuesday/Thursday deal: $6 bucks entry. About half of the programming is art/indie film. An added bonus - there's cheap Middle Eastern (great Falafel) up the block and a Chinese joint that's pretty depressing, but in a good way.
