Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is absolutely beautiful and breath taking. From March to June this is one of my favorite garden parks in the Portland area. Full of beautiful blooming rhododendrons and azaleas with a lake and waterfall as well as ducks and squirrel's to feed. This is a breath taking place to just relax and have a romantic picnic. Every Mothers day weekend they have their annual Rhododendron Show and plant sale. This is defiantly a must see for all who love the beauty of a breathtaking park.
PROS: a beautiful romantic place

I lived nearby the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden for years before I actually decided to check it out. It is amazing! It is great for all ages, whether you are six or sixty! It is wheelchair accessible and has a number of paths, scenic views, and grassy area for children to play down by the ducks. The membership is very reasonably priced and in the springtime, it is quite impressive. This is a great place to bring out of town guests, or even for a wedding. The space is a beautiful secret, but you will be back over and over to visit once you make the initial journey!! Great for family outings!

We used to be lucky enough to live very near the Rhododendron Garden, but even now that we are across town we still make a point to go there several times in the Spring/Summer to let our kids enjoy the scenery.
The flowers are gorgeous, but there is also so much more than just rhodies here - flowing water, ducks to feed, trails to walk, bridges to cross - it's just a fun place to experience some of the natural flora and fauna of the area and enjoy the day as a family. Whether you're taking pictures, eating a picnic or just feeding the ducks, it is a calm and relaxing way to spend the day.
PROS: Beautiful scenery, family friendly

Must See!

My boyfriend took me here on a date last Saturday and I can't get over how perfect and romantic it was. We got there about 5:30 p.m. and it was good timing because there weren't too many people there. We saw all of the ducks and geese and fed the squirrels saltless peanuts. The squirrels will eat right out of your hands! The lake is beautiful and I'm sure it is even better in the early Spring when the rhodies are blooming. There are a couple of waterfalls that just add that subtle touch to the place that makes the visit more than worthwhile! This is a must see for anyone who is interested in the outdoors.
