Shoes and Bags
I like to go her for the shoes and bags. Sometimes the prices are good and you can find really unique items. Every now and then I look at the clothing. My whole family likes this store. Its at a convenient location for me. But a little too much tourist now.

great discount store
This is one of the best discount stores in NYC for name brand merchandise. You might have to search for items you are looking for as most of the merchandise are unorganized. It can be packed on the weekends so it may be chaotic. Their prices are cheap compared to buying it in the retail stores. Overall it is a good deal if you find something you like.

Century 21
There are lots of great deals to be found here, but you'll need patience because its disorganized and messy, particularly on the third floor where the women's clothing department is. Also can be very crowded on the weekends, the fitting room lines can be very long - once had to wait 10 minutes to try on a few items. But you can find a great deal on name brand merchandise here.

Discount designer fashions - be prepared to search
True this place has a lot of discounted designer stuff, but a $90 Yves Saint Laurent shirt is still $90. So I would consider this the upscale version of other national "designer discount" places. Yes, all the departments are crowded, especially on a weekend, and sometimes rather messy, but the selection is so big that you can usually find what you're looking for. The size you're looking for isn't always there however. Some of the staff were helpful, some were not. I guess the bottom line is to go with time to spare and a good amount of patience.

Find a bargain amongst the madness
This discount department store is a zoo. It is jam packed with people and the stuff is just everywhere. Most of the clothes are unfolded and in piles. Things are flowing into the aisles and walkways. But if you can put up with the madness, you can probably find a bargain here.

"Best Kept Secret"
It's true what they say... that Century 21 is New York's best kept secret. You can't perceive the amazing deals there until you see it for yourself. Things are cut to half price, then cut half price again. Still, this place has it's own pricey items. But you can always find something you want, and for a bargain as well. For example, swimsuits may be expensive, the their overcoats are discounted. So what happened what that some swimsuits and overcoats cost about the same.... 50 dollars.

Designer duds, discount prices
Racks of designer label clothing, shoes and accesories for great prices. They even have high-end European lines for a fraction of their retail prices.
The crowds get fierce, but it's worth digging around. Check out their bedding section for great prices on sheets.

Wholey Department Store Batman!
This place makes TJ Max look pathetic. Centrury 21 carries everything from just about every designer for every age and style. Four stories of tighly packed merchandise does make for difficult navagating, but to those who know how to dig the rewards are great. The crowds are obnoxious so week days are reccommended, though it's never really empty. The prices are great with hugely marked off designer wares and seasonal sales. Go with lots of energy!

just a few caveats
Don't go looking for anything specific, don't be hungry and don't be in a hurry. If you've got time, no specific need, and the patience of a snail on quaaludes, you're all set. Keep those elbows tucked in, wear clean undies because the dressing rooms have no doors, and you might find something you would have paid far more for elsewhere.

Century 21
Holy smokes, what a mess. The Century 21 Dept Store right across from the World Trade Center site is one big mess. It doesn't matter when you go it's always crowded and a mess. The sales help is either non existent or hiding in horror somewhere in the back. Expect a long wait to check out. All that being said the prices are great for discontinued or over run designer stock and irregulars. Examine everything you buy very closely as I think they probably buy a lot of semi damaged goods and the wear and tear of handling by the crowds can't help keep the merchandise in sharp shape. Again you will save money just allot more time than for your average shopping experience.
PROS: Great Prices
CONS: A messy horror show

Century 21
You certainly can't beat the bargains at century 21, especially if you are interested in designer brands. If you get there right at opening it's best in beating the crowds. The crowds can get a bit crazy later on. Some smaller stores below Canal have equally great bargains, but this is a great place for a one-stop shop. It's also perfect for when you aren't on the look out for something particular--you never know what great deal you'll find!

Century 21
Century 21 is something of a NYC insider department store. Visitors and rich folk stick to Macys and the other upscale midtown boutiques and department stores, but if youre a student, or young, or not rich, Century 21 is the place to be. Located next to Ground zero, the building looks old and out of place with the cold and glittering financial district surroundings. Its really an old fashioned department store full of heavily discounted clothing and merchandise. The selection is incredible and prices unbeatable for the quality of clothing youll find there. My friend found a 500 dollar designer dress for 20 bucks. Such deals are common place.
