Decatur CD is proof that independent record stores still exist and have a place in the consumer world! The staff is willing to assist with anything you might need and can special order items if needed!

The best CD store in Atlanta area. Knowledgeable staff and good selection. Interesting in-store performances and ticket offers, good music book selection, and the staff isn't snooty or pretentious like their competitors.

This store has a great selection of CDs and the owner is very knowledgeable. He doesn't judge your tastes. I like that they have listening stations for you to try the CDs.

Just started shopping at Decatur CD a year or so ago, but it has quickly become a regular stop. Great selection of new & hard to find indie releases, great back catalog titles, and a helpful staff that can always suggest something new. With the demise of Tower, Decatur Cd might be the best bet to find that old record you are looking for and to also learn about 4 or 5 other bands who sound similar to your old favorites that are the cream of the indie hipster pile at the moment. Great selection of used cds and extremely reasonable prices make this place worth the drive.

Also cool is the fact that there are lounge chairs for less music-minded spouses to relax in and read while their better half shops.

Pros: No pretentious indie geeks working here, great prices, awesome selection

I love this store not only because it has a great selection of music but because the staff are great, too! They give awesome recommendations for when you want to try something totally new or just find a new artist in a familiar genre. Browsing and taking your time is encouraged. Most prices are comparable to buying from a chain, but I haven't seen anything $19+. It's that hip record store that everyone wishes was in their own neighborhood, so count yourself lucky and drop by for a visit! Parking is adequate, but traffic can be stiff at rush hour - you may want to aim for a morning or early afternoon visit.
