After fracturing my foot badly and spening over three months in a cast, my foot was still not healing well. With only one acupuncture treatment, Mary had me back on my feet. After only a few more, she had addressed not only my bad foot but my tinnitus, benign tremors, and mild depression from the long months of confinement in the cast.

Yes, I said she addressed my tinnitus. I no longer have the unbearable whining and ringing in my right ear that I have had as long as I can remember. Thanks, Mary, for the blessed, blessed silence!

Pros: Expert at what she does.

Cons: Don't fear the needles! You'll learn to love them!

I injured my ankle 19 months ago and had an uncommon "sinus tarsi syndrome". I had seen several orthopedic doctors and tried all sorts of treatments (including other physical therapy, cortisone injections, stabilizing boots, orthotics ...) to no avail. I was planning on having surgery but decided to try acupuncture as a last hope. Mary spent a lot of time feeling all around my ankle and trying to figure out exactly what was going on (nobody else did this to nearly the same extent). She really wanted to help me and was determined to solve the "puzzle". She used a combination of several treatments and patiently felt around my ankle until she found a couple of spots that were not moving quite as well as they should and voila ... I am finally able to begin running again after 19 months!

I've struggled with neck and shoulder pain for years. Mary has a very logical approach to trying to find the problem and will try many different things until she finds what works best. I've seen improvement for the first time in year. Mary is the best!

Mary Cook fixed my back after I did something to it mowing the lawn (it's hell getting old). After a sidewalk assessment one morning as we walked our dogs, Mary performed my first ever session with the tiny needles. I had never had an acupuncture treatment in my life. Mary explained it all and patiently answered my 1000 questions. How lucky am I to have Mary as a neighbor. Within 24 hours the pain had subsided so that I could get back to my life. What a great change from the muscle relaxer road. I will never go back!

I am afraid of needles so it took a lot of convincing for me to try acupuncture. I'm so glad I got past my fear which turned out to be no big thing. Mary is very good at calmly talking you through the process and the office environment truly reflects her calm, peaceful, but hip personality. I first tried it as a last result for a skin thing. Now I find relief for my, former, chronic back pain, my occassional sinus headaches, and have even had good results in curbing my appetite. The results have been amazing.

After years of being medicated, both through talk therapy and innumerable prescriptions, I decided to try acupuncture. For some time now I have struggled with depression and anxiety, unable to find relief through conventional western medicine. After seeing Mary Cook of WellPoint physical therapy and Acupuncture for about 6 weeks, the results have been fantastic. While I still suffer from many symptoms, often these symptoms are so small as to be negligible. I'm aware there are no silver bullets for most psychological disorders but after weekly sessions with Mary and slight modifications in my personal life, I feel like I might be close to finding one. As for the person, from the moment she opened the door to her office personally, Mary was very engaging and seemed genuinely eager and enthusiastic to help me towards a better life. I felt comfortable describing my problems and admitting my failures, ultimately allowing her to get a better sense of where I was and where she thought acupuncture could take me. For anyone who is considering acupuncture as casual treatment, or like me, as a last resort, I highly recommend it. My only regret with this treatment is that I hadn't done it sooner. Thanks for brightening up my future and putting a smile back on my face!

Mary Cook is amazing, working wonders. My menstrual cycle had been heavy and with pain for many years. Recommended by a friend, I made an appointment with her. She has an extremely kind and fun personality, and comes across as genuine and grounded as one could be. I made another appointment for the following week and before I was able attend my third; my menstrual cycle was light and normal, no pain! I also notice better bowel movements. I asked her how she was able to do it, she explained to me about the cleansing of my liver and spleen and getting a balance within my body. This woman is amazing! I could not recommend any other for a person considering acupuncture.

I have been a patient with the Wellpoint office for over a year. And I absolutely love the treatments. It has improved my overall life. I had episodes of depression to put it lightly. But now I am HAPPY. I am able to concentrate and the dizziness has disappeared. Acupuncture really does work. I go for a ?tune up? every few months. I highly recommend Mary cook and WellPoint for acupuncture

I completed my research on acupuncture however I still did not know exactly what to expect. The business is located on Joseph E Lowery Blvd in one of those New Innovative Building next to Metro Apartments that are close to W. Marietta St. ( it really looks like it is on W. Marietta St. if you ask me) the ?WellPoint Physical Therapy & Acupuncture? office was one the offices in the corner of the huge warehouse building. I am 38 years old, so it made me feel innovative and progressive to be in such a hip building. Mary Cook greeted me at the door, (I was a little early) she was very friendly & professional. I read some of the literature displayed in the office about acupuncture. (Which was helpful, to prepare me for what was to come.)Once I entered the actual room where the treatment would be held, (on time by the way) she begin to ask me a series of questions of what brought me to her. After the examination, she proceeds with the acupuncture.
She explained which points she was going to concentrate on and why. I lay across a table for about 30 minutes with acupuncture needles at designated points of my body and I was finished. After the acupuncture, I really didn?t know what to feel. (First acupuncture experience.) I really didn?t have any certain expectations of the acupuncture session. Therefore I really didn?t know what to compare it to. I have had other forms of alternative medicine, reiki, massage & neurofeedback and with each I did feel energy moving through my body. The next day, I did notice my breathing passage was clear. I could breath easier. I slept very well the night of the Acupuncture and awake with good energy. Throughout the next day I did feel energy moving through my body. I do feel calmness about myself. Also, my head (brain) seems ?clearer thoughts.?
I am definitely going back again, I am sure just like anything else it is a process to balance this body of mine. And I am looking forward to doing it. I will keep you posted.
