we had been to bangkokthyme very often, we first would say about the server is wonderful; esp; "katie" she's awesome also all servers are perfect. even they are busy "katie" has never been ignore about us. one thing we noticed recently about the sushi chef, he try to make all customer happy but sometime is too much that he gave some special to one customer without charge, we really have no idea but someone is the one in charge better be concerned about it, if not other customer feel bad about his action. anyway we love your place, we love your server. thank you

We absolutely love this restaurant and make sure we go at least once a week. Our best is the cashew nut chicken and the finest sushi in Atlanta. The service is always outstanding and the nicest people to do business with.
The food is very well priced and always so fresh. I would definitely recommend Bangkok Thyme and rate it as my favourite.

I came from New York and this is by far the best thai food restaurant I've ever been to. I went durinig restaurant week the foods are so much cheaper yet still tasted delicious. The servers are very polite and friendly. I will surely go there again when i visit Atlanta.

I loved their Pad Thai and the sushi too. Really delectable and mouth-watering. Truly one of the best restaurants we had ever gone to. The service was superb and the wait staff was courteous. I have always been a Thai food fan and this place is on my top5 list.

We have visited several Thai restaurants, and this one truly stands out. They prepare Thai food with a twist. This is a must try for people who are looking for Thai food.

If you are looking for great tasting Thai dishes in the area, then this is the place for you! Bangkok Thyme will also satisfy your cravings for sushi. Weird to find sushi in a Thai place, but I liked it anyway.

I will certainly be hitting this place again with my friends!

Pros: the best sushi

We have eaten at many Thai restaurants in the Atlanta area and this might be our new favorite! Great curry and other Thai food with just the right amount of spicy-ness (they ask you exactly how spicy you want each dish!).

Plus, the service was phenomenal and very friendly!

We will be back!

This is our favorite sushi restaurant. They have a great deal on their daily sushi "happy hour" and their Thai food is excellent, too. We have been going for years and always have great service. We have an 11 and 14 year old that absolutely love the place as much as we do, and the best thing is that there is something for everyone - great variety!

Pros: Love their sushi

Bangkok Thyme is not far down the road from where I live, and has been a favorite haunt of mine! They have absolutely incredible Pad Woonsen, as well as many other traditional Thai dishes. When my family comes to visit, they always have to stop by. The Pad Thai with glass noodles is also a great choice, as well as their curry dishes. I've only had the sushi on a couple of visits, since I can't bear to not their other incredible entrees, but it has been good each time also. I HIGHLY recommend this!

Pros: Sushi and well-prepepd entrees (Pad Woonsen)

Cons: occasional slow service when restaurant is packed

I have been to Bangkok Thyme just about every week since I discovered the place last year. The atmosphere is very nice. And everyone is so friendly. i personally have fallen in Love with the Panang Curry there. I've had almost everything on the menu but the Panang curry, something about the subtle coconut flavor mixed with the slight citrus tang that hits your pallet after just melt my heart all over. Recently I tried the Green Curry Fried rice for the first time and I'm sorry to say, I think I'm cheating on my favorite dish. I had never had the Green curry dish before, however the Green Curry Fried Rice was moist- but not too wet, delicious, and I came in a hefty portion! If you ever get a chance to go in there I know you'll love all their dishes, but you should try the Panang or The Green Curry Fried Rice, you'll love it!

Pros: Food is Great!

Cons: On Busy nights service is a little lacking

i had spicy holy basil thai style, just can tell, was awesome!!! my wife also had the sushi was so good but took too long. we had been waiting for 40 min just 1 entree from the sushi chef. by the way our server kept coming to let us know what's going on.
(s)he was so nice taking care of us even though she had to take care others table at the same time. we are the regular customer and never feel disappointed with the chef before, we do understand everytime it was busy. the new manager (tall & dark guy) just walked around and did nothing.

Pros: best thai food & very good service

Cons: poor management

after we got our table, black lady came and took our spring roll order, then we had been waiting for that. another server came and asked whether we had been help, then she took our entree order. she came back and let us know that there was nothing for our table, then she tried to follow up our spring roll because that BLACK LADY forgot to put our appetizer. we had been waiting for just the spring roll, the 2nd server kept following our order for so many times. that's made us feel why just the appetizer took so long long time, we knew it wasn't server's false, she also followed up for us all the time.
we were so appreciate the 2nd server, not the black lady, who had never came to us again.
thank you for very very attentive 2nd server.
we would be back because of we had a very good service from the 2nd server. thanks again. (we forgot to ask the 2nd server's name, she's got a short hair just like a boy) also for management please take care of the processing how to make the appetizer, we don't think it should take too long like this.

Pros: very very attentive server

Cons: poor management

to : whom it may concern
sat jan 17 ,we both just had the great dinner (with the awesome server who is just like a little tomboy)at the small booth beside the sushi bar. we noticed that our server who was working so hard with 2 customers behind us, she had tried to explain about something in the soup that the restaurant had it before now they changed that thing but that lady just wanted that thing, we guessed, then the server tried harder whether anything she could make her customers happy, everytime that couple asked the server everything, she did it for them IMMEDIATELY! and NICELY!. but we really don't know what's going on that couple was not happy. we just want to say "sorry" to our server as we know you worked so hard to her customers but it doesnt work to the one who is hartless. we also want to say that she WAS DOING VERY GREAT JOB.

Pros: very helpful server

Cons: heartless customer cause of someone

December 23, 2008

I used to go to Bangkok Thyme once (sometimes twice) a week for the best sushi in Atlanta. We have tried all of the high-end sushi restaurants in Atlanta, but we kept coming back here because nothing compares to their sushi! Their thai food is really good too. The manager Sakchai is always very friendly, and the waitresses and sushi chef know us and are really nice too. However, the middle-aged lady -- I?m not sure if she is the owner or manager -- is rude and has ruined our experience at this restaurant. We have had three very strange and unpleasant experiences with her, where we left the restaurant feeling unwelcome, upset, and confused. She doesn't seem to understand customer service and has more or less ruined this restaurant for us.

Pros: best sushi in atl

Cons: very rude lady!!!

I've had Thai food before and nothing compares to this restaurant. The food is very tasty and there is a big selection to choose from. The staff was the friendliest I've ever met. This place is highly recommended.

Pros: Great food/service

Cons: None/We need more restaurants like this around!

My fiancee and I have been to so many thai restaurants in Atlanta, and this one is my favorite by far. The spicy thai basil and four company dishes are amazing! I always want to try something new when I go, but these two are so good that I just can't do it! The staff is so polite and attentive. The owner is such a sweetheart and always acts thrilled to have you there. I have truly NEVER had a bad experience. In summary, reasonably priced, delicious food, great service, and a great ambience make this place worth the drive.

Pros: delicious food, excellent service, ambience

Cons: none!

I've gone to Atlanta for work a few times and "discovered" this little gem. The staff are very courteous and seem to be sincere about making sure that the customer has a great experience. The food is always wonderful, but last week I included the Spicy Tuna on Cracker appetizer (not a saltine like it sounds). This is AWESOME!!! A very unique dish that is one of the best appetizers that I've ever had. I also had the Spicy Thai Noodle with Shrimp (extra charge for seafood), which was absolutely delicious.

Pros: Food, Service, atmosphere

Cons: My belly's wasn't big enough to fit everything

February 19, 2008

We are always delighted to enter this calm, warm environment and be greeted by name. We have had almost every item on the menu and have never been disappointed. The sushi is fresh and superbly presented. The Thai dishes are fresh and inviting, and spiced as we hope. Above all, it is wonderful to feel so appreciated by the owner and staff; the feeling is mutual.

February 06, 2008

If you are looking for a fantastic Thai meal (with ambiance radiating through the teak panelled ceiling) this is the place for you. Offering both fusion and traditional dishes (including fresh sushi made to order), even the hardiest eater will appreciate the full menu options and offerings. Try the spicy tuna crackers to start off your meal:)

Pros: Great menu options; attentive staff; intimate atmosphere

Cons: None

I am an occasional visitor to Atlanta. However, after dining twice last week-end at Bangkok Thyme, I think I will make the drive more often. On Thursday evening shortly after arriving in Atlanta, my hosts and I went for a late supper since the restaurant is near their home. The service was excellent and the food, especially the duck, exceptional. As a chef, I am often stingy with praise, recognizing short-cuts, etc. I was so delighted with my meal that I delayed my departure on Monday to have lunch before leaving Atlanta. The chef is friendly, eager to please and attentive to every request for seasoning preferences. On the second visit we had the Cracker with Spicy Tuna. This may be the best Asian appetizer I've ever eaten. In fact, it was so good, we got an additional order to go for the ride home. Bravo, Bangkok Thyme.

Pros: Exceptional duck and spicy tuna cracker

December 24, 2007

i went there with my friend tonight, ordered two Spicy Basil, actually not that spicy but with too strong nutmeg flavor. Sushi is good though, a special on Sun from 5pm to 7pm --- 2 dollars per order with 4 pieces

I Came to Atlanta for a friends wedding and wanted to stop here after a few conversations with the owner. He was a very gracious host. Warm, Kind, and educated us (my girlfriend and I) about the different types of sushi; and thai dishes they offer. The Food was amazing! Everything was prepared very well from the spicy tuna cracker appetizer to the entrees of pad thai with chicken. Awesome Experience, and when I visit Atlanta again I will definitely make a point to dine at bangkok thyme again as well.

Pros: Great Spicy Tuna Cracker appetizer

Cons: I wanted to try too much on the Menu and I live in Colorado

Bangkok Thyme has consistently delicious sushi and Thai dishes that are very reasonably priced! My friends and I go here often, about once a week, and the servers always greet us by name and deliver fantastic service. I highly recommend the Thai basil roll-- very fresh and light, as an appetizer and any of the many sushi rolls or the Masaman Curry or the Red Curry as an entree. Bangkok Thyme also has amazingly fast take out-- meals have always been ready within 15 minutes of calling in an order.

I would highly recommend Bangkok Thyme to anyone who truly loves fresh, delicious, authentic Thai and sushi!

Pros: Very authentic Thai and sushi at great prices!

Cons: None

This place is pretty decent. I would not say it is amazing but it is one of the best thai place I have been in Atlanta. Like everyone else said, the service is great. The owner comes around the table to talk to every customers. The atmosphere's is great and the place is kept clean. I had thai style chicken that was delicious! (it is something i have never seen in other restaurant's menu too) My boyfriend who is crazy about Phad Thai thought that they make one of the best Phad Thai in town too.

Pros: food service

March 18, 2007

We absolutely love this place! We drove all the way from Chattanooga, TN to eat there one night because it's just that good! Great atmosphere and very good service! The owner is very nice and comes to your table to see how everything is! Their sushi is very fresh and tasty!

Pros: Great food, service and atmosphere

Cons: Nothing!

I've been here a few times when visiting my dad in Buckhead - I love the pad thai and the ice creams are great.

Pros: ice cream is home made

December 30, 2006

We arrived with a large party of 12 on a Friday night without reservations and were seated within 20 minutes. The staff were very helpful in trying to accommodate us in their relatively small establishment. The food was good - we did a mixture of Thai food and sushi - nothing fantastic or truly memorable, but the dishes were well made, well presented, and fresh. The best part of the experience was probably the service and the owner. The servers were fast and responsive. The owner came over several times to make sure that everything was up to par and that we had everything we needed.

Pros: Service

Cons: None

My husband and I try to visit at least once a week. We love this place. We always go for happy hour sushi and then order the pad thai. It is the best!! Everything they serve is delicious.
Staff is super friendly.

Pros: Great service and food

Cons: Can't think of any but It can get crowded on weekends.

This restaurant is absolutely great. Not only is the interior decorating breath-taking, but the food is also great. The sushi bar makes for a great place to sit when alone, and the Thai food is quite authentic. The servers are also really nice. For dessert, the green tea ice cream is a must!

July 16, 2006

Most authentic Thai food I've enjoyed since I visited the country several years ago (they even have thai eggplant). Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the food is the best. This is a must visit for anyone that enjoys Thai food.

Pros: Food, atmosphere, staff

Cons: None

From the Pad Thai to the Island Breeze & the Hurricane sushi rolls, basil rolls, pork Thai salad and more...traditional tastes and courteous waitstaff and friendly owners...a "must eat at" restaurant inside the perimeter.

June 12, 2006

Great lunch combinations of Thai and sushi, under $10. Delicious entrees and sushi. Quiet atmosphere with gorgeous authentic decor. Love their sushi rolls and ginger chicken entree and sticky mango rice for dessert, yum! I go every week...not to miss!

This has become my favorite Thai restaurant. The food and service are very good and the price is very affordable. I like the happy hour wine prices as well.

The Sign 'BANGKOK THYME restaurant' attracted our attention. We just couldn't find time to check them out until recently. My friend and I decided to be adventurous. We were impressed with the ambience which is a mix of classical Thai and Japanese. It was so relaxing. I had sushi as an appetizer, it was very fresh and their thai dishes was superb.. so authentic! Such a great discovery. I will definitely go back. The wait staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed our time there.

Pros: great ambience, excellent food, great combination

Cons: none
