I went to Alexanders a week ago. First of all, it is in the nicest little area. Everyone in the staff is extremely nice, from the girl at the desk to the assistants and the hairdressers. The environment is top notch... & get ready to be pampered with Mimosas and snacks!
I am very picky with my hair, and I was scared to go in here for the first time to get a haircut. However, Jessie was very helpful. She totally understood what I wanted and I gave me suggestions and ideas on how to make it work for me. She definitely knows what she is doing. In fact, I liked her so much, I am going back to get my hair colored with her. I am telling you, you will love it. Definitely, call in for Jessie. She was nice and she knows her stuff.

After receiving dozens of compliments on my hair, I realized Alexander Hairdressing was the best salon for me. I have been coloring my hair for more than 10 years, and I thought my blonde shade had been mastered by my other stylists; however, after my initial visit, I came to realize that was not the case. My first appointment at Alexander Hairdressing was wonderful from start to finish, which is why I continue to return. Marissa is my stylist and she is awesome, I put full trust in her professional opinion during my first visit and it was a great decision. She insisted on changing my base color, and although I was hesitant, I decided to give it a try best hair choice ever. \r

All Alexander Hairdressing employees are so helpful and accommodating to each client, and the salon atmosphere is very fun and comfortable. Choosing this salon has been a great decision, and I am looking forward to my next appointment. \r

Great haircut! I have been to a few places in town and had awful results. This place is a Kerastase salon, and the stylists are well trained and super nice. My hair looked amazing when I was finished. Everyone was very helpful. My stylist was great, she offered advice about what products would be best for my hair, and how to style it. I am definitely going back!

I tried various stylists at assorted salons around the area but none of my cuts were really impressive.

I always left feeling a bit cheated. Yeah sure, I left with less hair, but it didn't even look good for a week or so.

A quality cut shouldn't need to grown out to look good!

Jessie at Alexander's works with you to find out what you truly want and what will work best for you. She delivers a professional consistant cut and experience everytime.

The entire staff at Alexander's is dedicated to making your experience special. These folks are passionate about hair and it shows.

I moved to Orlando 7 years ago and I have probably been to well over a dozen salons. I met Marissa through a coworker and decided to give her salon a try. She is amazing. The service is great, there is almost always a special and best of all I ALWAYS love my hair.

If you're looking for a relaxed but trendy salon with extremely talented and professional stylists, I highly recommend coming to visit Marissa at Alexander Hairdressing!

I have been a regular customer for many many years and after having the best trained stylists in the country work on your hair, I would never consider going anywhere else!I get compliments on my style/cut and color all the time. I came to Alexanders after my mother in law made me an appointment for my birthday. I was so surprised, the service was amazing, not only are they friendly but they are always make sure their clients are comfortable. The hair cut I received was amazing, my hairdresser did a great job styling and cutting my hair. I would recommend this place to everyone they are wonderful.

I discovered Alexander's about 2 years ago after my daughter told me about it. I thought why not, it is close to my home. I will not go to another salon. When I first went there I chose Debbie to cut and color my hair. She first did a consultation and explained everything she would be doing and why. I always had a short hairstyle most of my adult life. Debbie convienced me to let it grow longer. I love it, I have movement and the color she does is like no other I have received. I am a customer for life. Give the salon a try. No matter who you choose you will not be disappointed.

This Salon went above and beyond my expectations. The receptionist scheduled my haircut with Jessie. She was fabulous at listening and understanding my desires, but she also helped me know what I needed. I loved getting a great head and shoulder massage at the shampoo bowl. Jessie really took time to detail my haircut to perfection. I have already recommended Alexander's to friends who have complimented my cut. You don't have to fly to NYC to get a super star haircut, this salon is in, or is so close to your neighborhood!

I have been going to salons for over 10 years to get my hair colored and cut but never quite felt that I was satisfied with the results. Taking a recommendation from a friend, I first went to Debbie in August 2011. She took one look at my hair and told me everything that was wrong. She explained my hair texture and why I never achieved the result that I wanted. She recommended color choices that would brighten and highlight my skin tone. The hardest part was watching her cut off almost 12 inches of hair! However, I couldn't be happier! In 6 months my hair feels twice as thick, has more body and texture than ever, and shines without any product. I used to spend 45 mins blowdrying, straightening, and styling my hair. Now it dries in 10 mins and styles in about 5. It takes work and dedication but my hair is healthy and growing faster than it ever has before. I feel like I can finally achieve my hair goals. The service at Alexander Hairdressing is professional yet personalized. From Chelsea at the Reception Desk to each and every stylist and assistant, you feel like every aspect of your appointment is personalized and cared for. This is definitely the start of a very long relationship and years of gorgeous, perfect hair!

I just moved to Orlando from the east coast in August and was referred to Alexander Hairdressing by a friend from Winter Park. Of course, being nervous about a new hair stylist I didn't know what to expect. From the moment I arrived for my consultation I was in love with this place. Everyone is the salon makes you feel so welcome and as if you have been a client for years. The receptionist is great with an awesome personality and Marissa, Nicole and Angie are truly the best at what they do. I enjoy every visit and always look forward to my next appt. Their suggestions on color, cuts and waxing are so helpful and my hair in just a month is the best it ever has been. I highly recommend Alexander Hairdressing to everyone, I have received so many compliments on my hair. It is the best, you will love it!

It has been about 3 weeks since I had my first hair cut from Marissa and I absolutely love it! The price for the hair cut is a little more than I normally spend, but it was definitely worth it!

The day after my visit I went back home to Massachusetts to see my family and my Mom loved the hair cut so much that she has decided to grow out her hair and get her hair cut with Marissa the next time she is in town! I recommend everyone to visit Marissa for their next hair cut. I guarantee that you will be in love with your hair, and excited for your next trip to the salon, I know I am!

Having heard many great things about the salon from a family member, I decided to grow my eye brows out for about two months and then go in and see just how great Angie's work was. I made my appointment a week in advance and received a confirmation text the day before. I walked in not know really what to expect the day of my appointment, 15 minutes prior to my appointment. About 5 minutes after arriving, the friendly receptionist asked if I would like anything to drink while I waited and just as I was answering, Angie came up and introduced herself to me. It was really friendly and completely unexpected. We chatted for a minute and she walked me to her eyebrow chair. After cleaning my eyebrows we discussed how I wanted them done. About 15 minutes later, after a much needed waxing and pleasant conversation, I was checking out and making an appointment to get my hair done with Angie! The ambiance and friendliness of the salon are outstanding. I felt welcome and left extremely pleased with my service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new salon!

My hairtype (thick, curly) is probably a stylist's worst nightmare, and as a result, I've gone to many different salons in the Orlando area in search of a good stylist. Alexander's Hairdressing is probably the fifth or sixth salon that I've had my hair cut at in the past four years, and now it is the only place I will go to get my hair done.

I love the atmosphere of the place, and everyone working there is very friendly. If you have tough curly hair like me, I would recommend seeing Angie; she knew exactly how to cut my hair so that I could wear it down and curly with minimal frizz--something no other stylist I have been to was able to do.

After I had my hair cut last, it began to rain like crazy when I was leaving the salon. The receptionist grabbed a large umbrella and walked with me across the street to my car.

I would highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a good haircut at a fairly reasonable price.

I first went to Alexander Hairdressing after hearing my mother rave about it. I was visiting from NYC, where I already had someone, but I thought I'd check it out. It's definitely not a place that would have a revolving door of clients (one-time visitors), they build long-lasting relationships! \r

In my (required) consultation, Debbie (the owner) asked me detailed questions about what I expected from my hair and what I wanted it to do, so that both of us were on the same page. She advised me on the best cut and color for the shape of my face and skin tone. I could tell Debbie wanted me to be happy (but realistic) with the outcome.\r

I was most impressed that Debbie took the time to instruct me how to blowdry and style my hair so that it looked like I came from the salon every day! No one has ever done that!\r

Everyone makes you feel very special from the moment you arrive. The staff is very sweet, professional, and are great at what they do. They go above and beyond what I would expect from a hair salon. I've been to many hair salons in NYC, which you can imagine are pretty pricey even for mid-range ones. None of them compare to the value and service of Alexander Hairdressing! Now, I've scheduled my visits to Florida to correspond with when I need to get my hair done too!

My mom surprised me at the beginning of the year with a visit to Alexander Hairdressing for a full start to finish hair makeover. I was very impressed that before they would even book a color/cut appointment with me, they insisted on a consultation first. That impressed me a lot because they aren't willing to just do anything to your hair, they really examine it from style, color, cut, etc. and make great recommendations. After the consultation, I arranged to come back for the cut, color, etc. and was amazed to see the transofrmation my hair made and the education provided me about why it had been so unhealthy previously and what steps needed to be taken to get it where I wanted it to be (long, thick and lustrous of course!). When you come in, they truly want you to enjoy a full experience, not just ""get your hair done"". Debbie, her assistant and each person I encountered was courteous and professional. The cappucinno's are AMAZING and are offered to you throughout your treatments. While this hair experience was more costly than I have paid elsewhere, it was well worth it and my hair FEELS healthier since I've been. I'm going back tomorrow for my next visit!

If you want a your hair to look healthy and natural go to Alexander Hairstyling. From the cuticle to the ends the treatments and cut accentuate the hair, not the products. Although I have a hard time bypassing the the Kerastace experience. I've always had a great cut and attention to detail by Jesse, but the complete team has great synergy (which shows in their low employee turnover). Their new client policies may seem strict but they are always on time and carry a professionalism throughout the full experience. Results require time and money but I know it works because so many people compliment my hair.

My sister got a great cut at Alexander so I decided to give them a try. love the cut so I went back for color. I think I might need to go a little blonder next time but I still think Jesse did a good job. As of this month of December, I have had the honor of being a client of Debbie for ONE YEAR. And oh, what a transformation year that has been! From course, short hair to smooth, soft, mid-chin hair. I thought it couldn't get any better...but I was wrong! I recently had a special keratin treatment (that takes about an hour) to make my hair even straighter and more manageable. I was curious as to how my hair could get any better. Boy, was I surprised. I can't believe the results. I never thought my naturally thick and wavy hair could look like a soft, silky hair model! Not only am I super-please at how my hair looks, but at how easy it is to manage. When I wake up in the morning, my hair looks as good as it did before I went to bed. In summary, all I can say is WOW! Thank you Debbie for recommending this process and thank you Angie for executing this miracle!

If you are not used to paying 100 bucks for a simple hair cut and if you do not like finding charges on your bill for services that you did not agree to or did not ask for then this is not the place for you. If you think that it is tacky for a salon to request your credit card number upon booking your appointment (2 weeks in advance) only to be pushed back (twice, once the day before and once the day of), and then promised you would definitely be out by a certain time and then are actually out a full hour later than promised, (and almost THREE hours after you arrive) then you won't like this place. My appointment actually began an hour and a half after it was originally scheduled.
The owner claims several times in response to negative reviews that she is ""not a magician"". I find that response extremely condescending and rude. Having worked in a similar industry, I would never, ever have said that to one of my clients if they were unhappy with the service I provided them, even if I disagreed with them. I would never have called them a liar (essentially) if they said that they did not agree to buy something I sold them. I would simply take it off the bill, no questions asked. I wouldn't say I would take off a portion of it- I would remove it completely. I also see that I am not the only person who has had this experience. If you are going to charge what you charge at this salon maybe people have a right to expect magic. I don't blame them. This is not LA or NYC or London, so to pay these prices for hair is unexpected in Orlando. People only want an experience that matches those prices. I suggest if you go, know what you are walking into. Ask all the prices for all services UP FRONT before you agree to anything and if they seem like they are doing something extra to you- it isn't just because they are being nice- you are paying for it!! I'm not going to talk about the quality of the cut because it is a matter of taste preference. Was it what I wanted or expected? No. Is it a bad cut? No. Is it amazing? No. I think if I had a different experience in terms of customer service I would be going back, but because of my experience I will never go back and I will never recommend them to anyone I know. Which is unfortunate because I referred about 35 people to my former stylist.

Alexander Hairdressing amazed me with the attention to detail each employee has. I love that a consultation is a requirement as building a trusting relationship with your stylist is a must for me! It almost seems like I really never had been to a hair salon before visiting Alexander's this week...the whole staff is dedicated to the client, Debbie, the owner, took great care of me; her expertise and scientific, friendly approach was appreciated. Many of the other staff also participated in making my experience unique. \r
I have no reason to go elsewhere now.

I'm new to Orlando and decided to try Alexander based on the reviews. I've gone to many upscale salons in many cities and Alexander is one of the best I've visited. I was extremely happy with my cut and my stylist, Marissa, was attentive, friendly, and gave me great advice regarding styling and taking care of my hair. I highly recommend Alexander--in fact, I'm going back for another haircut soon!

After years of getting my hair cut at Great Clips and Hair Cuttery, I decided to go to a more upscale salon last year. This was the best decision I ever made for my hair. Marissa has transformed my hair and made it a million times healthier and lively. I don't think I could ever go back to a ""cheap"" place now after the treatment I receive at Alexander. The customer service is outstanding and I truly look forward to my experience there every time. It is a one-of-a-kind salon that makes me feel valued, pampered, and amazing!

I have been going to Alexander's for several years now... and Marissa is the absolute BEST. I spend most of my time in Brevard County and choose to make this drive for excellent salon quality and service. From the way you are treated as soon as you walk thru the door and during makes your appt a worthwhile experience. You are greeted and asked if you would like something to drink, you speak with your stylist (and did I say Marissa is the BOMB-!) and the hair wash is like no other... scalp massages are so relaxing. I feel you receive upscale treatment at good prices. All stylists are very talented and everyone takes their time with you. As the title says... Love, Love this place... check it out. ...

This was my first visit and I got the best salon experience I have ever had. I was warmly greeted at the door and then taken to a chair within a few moments and brought a cup of tea. Then my stylist spent a good 15 min talking and listening about what I wanted. She gave me some suggestions and also listened to what I wanted as well. My hair washing included a fantastic scalp massage too. I have blond straight hair and it shows every mistake. The cut was a week ago and it is flawless, I can't find any errors. Hands down the best hair cut I have had in years.

Debbie gave me a great style and cut. the service of her salon was poor in how it handled me as a new customer. I was not told any prices when I made the appointment. Strange that my styling just happened to be the most expensive on Debbie's list.\r
I do not like being constantly asked to buy products or to be told what special treatment my hair needs through out the course of my appointment with Debbie.

My curly headed wife of 20 years (anniversary haircuts) and I found this wonderful little gem of a hair salon on City Search...and could not be happier with the day!!! Debbie did wonders for my wife's curls, and Jessie took my shaggy look and turned it into a masterpiece...well as good as it could considering what she had to work with...LOL...it truly was a wonderful experience, and was even given a relaxing hand massage by Miss Savannah...all of the staff was incredibly warm and friendly, and they truly made our 20th our best one yet!!! And as my wife said...""We are both fun loving people and indeedy do...we had fun!"" We will be back!!!

My husband found Alexander's online after getting fed up with my complaining about my messed up haircuts. We both scheduled appointments together on our anniversary today and we were not disappointed! Jessie transformed my scrappy looking husband into a Rock Star! Debbie performed miracles with my unruly curls and seemed to read my mind about what sort of cut i wanted.

We both felt welcomed and appreciated by the entire staff. We are both fun loving people and we had fun!

A very unique place, lots of very talented staff everywhere, great environment which is very sociable and appealing. Been here maybe 4 or 5 times already, got Debbie the first time I went, been going to her ever since. She has done a picture perfect job each time and I can put all my trust in her when it comes to my hair. I am completely satisfied after each visit. Definitely recommend checkin' it out for anyone looking for a good time in addition to a great hair treatment.

I had such a great experience at the Alexander Hairdressinf Salon. The moment I arrived, I was greeted with a big smile; the staff was really friendly and professional. I thought they will have the biggest scare of there life with my long curly hair. \r
I was introduce to Debbie Sheehan as my stylist and we clicked the minute I sat down in her chair to examine my hair. It was more than I expected. I got a scalp treatment, had my hair cut and blow dried and styled beautifully. After Debbie was done, everyone had there eyes set on me, Debbie had done and amazing job!!!\r

I went to Alexanders because my friend recommended Marissa as a stylist who would take her time during our initial consultation and I was not disappointed. Sadly, I had come to her on a rescue mission from my previous haircut and she was very interested in helping me get my hair back on track. I felt I was in good hands and she gave me a nice cut while I grow the rest out. The whole experience at the salon was really nice. The shampoo/neck massage was relaxing and they even offered me a hot pack to keep my hands warm under the cape during my cut. I also got a free keratin treatment as a bonus for booking that week and that was a nice plus. The staff was very professional and welcoming and I'm looking forward to going back.

I found this salon by using City Search and I was not disappointed. I walked in and with awful hair and walked out with a new cut and color. Jessie at Alexander Hairdressing even made a follow up call to see if I was satisfied. I have received so many compliments. What a wonderful experience, i've even pre-booked my appointments with Jessie up until next July that's how happy I am with my hair and the Alexander Hairdressing. I'm very, very picky about my thick, long, curly, frizzy, crazy head of hair. I came to Alexander Hairdressing on recommendation from a conversation I had with Debbie at a party. Debbie always listens to me about what works for my head of hair (years of dealing with this craziness has given me lots of rules!!) and she makes good suggestions about how to make my life easier and my look prettier. I trust her implicitly and she is endlessly patient with the time and effort it takes to color, cut and style my hair. \r
She has taken my dark NYC head of hair to a lovely shade of Goldy Brown and her cuts are impeccable. After the color change in particular, I received so many compliments and several of my girlfriends asked me who my stylist was. It doesn't hurt either that she is also a delight to spend time with and wouldn't use any other salon!\r

I have been wearing my hair short for nearly 20 years now and for years I have always felt that I never have walked out of a salon with a ""style"". I visited many salons on line and read many reviews and decided to go with Alexander Hairdressing. The girl on the phone was extremely pleasant and when I told her of my past experiences, she gave me an option of $$ I wanted to spend and decided to go with Angie! Angie was not only super personable, the cut she gave me was fabulous!!! Angie was very pleasant, friendly, we clicked right away!\r
My hair cut was a work of art!!! She took her time, told me what I can look forward to going forward and I cannot wait to go back!!!\r
As long as Angie is at Alexander Hairdressing, I will continue to go back forever!!!\r
While I am at it, the staff was fabulous, the salon was very very nice and I was comfortable the minute I walked in....Thank you so much Alexander!!! I'll be back and that's a promise!\r

Let's be honest with one another. Everyone likes a compliment every now and then and it is definitely nice to know that the money you spend on your hair was money well spent! I have been going to Alexander Hairdressing to get my hair colored for the past 5 years and I have never received so many compliments on my hair ever! I am constantly asked who colors my hair? I am often well overdue for a color because I am a full time mom and employee and people are still complimenting me? I tell them I am so overdue for a color but my colorist is great - she does such a good job that the re-growth still gets compliments! If you are looking for one of the best colorist in the city and enjoy receiving a compliment then you must go to Alexander Hairdressing and see Jessie! \r
I have been to a few different colorist in the city and they were all high end salon's and I wouldn't go anywhere else at this point! Jessie has proven herself over and over again and everywhere I go people confirm what a great job she does by asking who colors my hair!

I was unsure of what to do with my hair color. Being light ash blond for well over ten years made it difficult for me to make even the slightest alteration. Changing my hair color was very scary to me...as if it would change my identity! However, with fall beginning and wanting something more realistic, being that my natural hair is brown, I was introduced to Debbie Sheehan at a business party / function and she totally altered my perception of hair color forever. She carefully analyzed my skin tone and eye color... bringing life to my face! (Something that is very difficult when going darker.) I highly, highly recommend her to anyone. She could not have been more precise or fabulous!

I had the best haircut I've ever had by Jennie. I was amazed that she used scissors to cut my entire hair. Most other stylists I have gone to, even in high end salons still use clippers around the edges. She was able to skillfully cut my hair using only a comb and scissors. I was impressed and will definitely be going back.

This place is first class all the way. You notice the difference when you walk in the door and they call you by name and offer you a beverage.

I have been going to see Debbie for many years now. I hate to give up my best kept secret, but she deserves the recognition! Debbie is AMAZING. I have curly, coarse hair that I have always struggled with. I have never been able to find someone that could cut my hair the way I wanted let along make it look good!! My hair is extremely difficult. Debbie is like a magician. My Mom (who loves her as well) has the same hair troubles and she is able to straighten our hair and give us a cut that most people would die for- straight or culry hair) I am so loyal that last time I moved I swear I didnt get my haircut for over a year...I literally was about to book a flight to Orlando and luckily I ended up moving back home. PHEW! If you can get an appt with Debbie - whether your hair is curly and difficult or straight and easy- MAKE IT. Anyone that I have ever recommened to her is a lifer as well. Just don't steal my appts:)

Debbie - Last week I spent over $400 (four hundred dollars) to have my hair cut and colored by you. I spent a further $230 (two hundred and thirty dollars) on Kerastase products recommended by you.

I called this week to explain to you that I was unhappy that my supposedly blonde hair was a vivid shade of orange. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when you made no attempt to see the resultant hair color for yourself or any effort to try to make things right.

You told me you were not a magician and that this was part of the process of getting to my desired blonde shade in a few months time - basically, I just had to deal with it until my next appointment.

For the record my natural hair color is a light brown, I have highlighted it for most of my adult life and it is relatively fine in texture. Having read your responses to previous reviews I am sure that you will lay the blame at my door and claim that my hair was in ""terrible"" condition. If not having virgin hair is a crime, then call me guilty. But like most of the population with fine, colored hair, my crime is nothing more than having dry hair - a problem not insurmountable to any other hairdresser I have ever visited.

I spent seven (7!) hours in your salon that day (add in the cost of the sitter looking after my children all day and this was a very expensive day at the salon!) so forgive me if I expected a little more follow through on customer service when I was not happy with the end result.

I also find it unethical that you are ""shilling"" for good reviews by offering monetary incentives - a $25 discount for future services - to clients who write nice online reviews of your salon.
Good online reviews lead me to your door, as I'm sure they have influenced many of your customers. It is disillusioning to discover that these testimonials may not be quite as genuine as I had first believed.

I write this review in the spirit of constructive criticism and hope it is received that way.

I have spent countless hours and $$ searching for a hair stylist in Orlando that understands hair and after many years of hopeless pursuit I have found the ""diamond in the rough,"" for the city of Orlando. It is truly an experience at this salon from the moment that you walk in. You can relax as your hair begins to literally transform before your own eyes. The only thing that I get nervous about is if the salon decided to leave this area and move to another state. About a min after I called and booked I realized I wasn unable to make it for the 1:00 and needed to cancel and reschedule. I called back and the line was busy.. 3 min later I called back and I spoke with the front desk and the young lady said ""Awe... I'm sorry we could have booked Marissa for that time, we will have to charge you the full amount for canceling.. $180 bucks!"" I replied... ""i just called 3 min ago..."" she replied back ""Yea, I know it's just policy, sorry!"" \r

Alexander Hairdressing was my first real upscale salon experience, from the moment I walked in , the room was buzzing with busy clients at each seat, attention to detail and service is very important as I was greeted by a very nice young woman till the moment i walked out she kept asking if she could get me anything from drinks to food that could be delievered if need be, now that I loved! My stylist marissa was very knowledgeable in her products and what treatments were being done with my hair that that day I left the salon actually understanding more about how to take care of my hair to benefit its best potential.\r

I had my first appointment with Debbie this week, on the recommendation of a friend who I've known for over a year and has had her hair completely transformed. (That is not an exaggeration.) \r

The first part of my appointment was looking through a book and selecting the styles and color I wanted to achieve. Debbie sat down with me and talked about how I could achieve the looks I selected. She was honest about the condition of my hair and offered constructive solutions.\r

After my intial shampoo and demineralization treatment, Debbie did a cut and blow-dry. Her attention to detail was very professional. She described at each stage what she was doing and why. After just ONE cut, I walked out of the salon feeling better about my hair and wanting to make it healthier.\r
\r
This salon focuses on the HEALTH of your hair. The improved appearance is just a bonus of having healthier, stronger hair. They do not offer quick fixes or focus on superficial treatments.\r
\r
All of the treatments and products are sold a la carte. I did feel a bit overwhelmed as I had to check out, pay, buy my products, and schedule my next appointment all at once, because the salon was closing for the evening. However, I called the receptionist to follow up and clarify everything, and she went through all the information with me. I now know what treatments and costs I will have at my next appointment. I highly recommend calling the salon after your appointment, because there's quite a bit of education and information you receive, and it can be hard to remember everything at once (although they do send you home with literature about your products and treatments).\r

I appreciate the professional and educational approach to hairdressing. I've never received that level of information before, and I think it's making me a well-informed consumer of hair care products and treatments. Yes, it is expensive, but you have to look at it as an investment, as you would your wardrobe, hair, or body. Debbie is willing to work with her clients to devise a schedule that they can afford. Know the prices ahead of time (call the receptionist) and be honest with yourself about what you can afford to pay.

boutique-ish salon, with great stylists and equipment. very classy and high end without being snooty. they're truly passionate about great hair. my stylist was jessie and she did a wonderful job. i wasn't really sure what i wanted. she explained what would work with my face shape and accentuate my facial features. i was sold and let her work her magic. \r

A completely fantastic experience!!! I have been to a number of salons in Orlando and after five years, have finally found a salon with everything I need. After a full hair makeover with Jessy, I am thrilled with Alexander Hairdressing. Had a great cut and color, strong consultation, and felt totally appreciated for the service. I've been meaning to write this months ago and that is how long i have loved my color! My natural color is a dark blonde and i wanted bright hilites but not chunky. Debbie 'painted' me and by watching her, i thought the outcome wouldn't be what i wanted... it was AMAZING! so natural that i couldnt believe myself in the mirror. She is the top colorist and stylist and SO worth it. I just went back in for a 2nd time to see Debbieto get my roots done and could not be happier!

Alexander Hairdressing reputation for men's cutting is well known. Marissa has a history in styling in Orlando- not to mention the characters she's cut!\r
We've been clients for 2 years. Marissa is precise in her cuts (both men & women), quiet, zen and a great girl. Don't know how she talks and always cuts perfectly. We can't remember a bad cut in the years we've been going there.\r
The salon is fabulous as are all the stylists. The colorists are devine as well. I love going to Alexander Hairdressing and the salon location is very cool. Also, great places to go after your haircut. \r

I started getting a few grey hairs and have been on the search for the best salon in the city to cover them without a trace. I have never colored my hair before so this was a big deal. I am a brunette and my biggest fear was that my hair would be one tone and all the natural highlights would be gone. Jessie did an amazing job. She made sure that my color was exact and that it was still multi dimensional, not to mention the amazing cut she gave me afterwards. Her apprentice rocked as well. I think her name was Melissa. She gave me the best scalp massage! I am definitely going back to Jessie, Melissa and Alexander Hairdressing

I was told about Debbie from a friend. She was busy the day i needed to come in but she assured me that all the other girls were great so I took a chance. I got my hair cut and colored by Marissa and she really listened to what I asked for. I have never had someone get what I was saying before, I didnt know if i was making sense but she totally got me! Jessie thermal straightened my hair a year ago and I cannot imagine going back to curly hair. Jessie is fabulous to interact with and extremely conscientious. I did consultations with four professionals at different salons and Jessie was the only one to do a test strand and to express caution regarding a particular aspect of my hair. In the end, I went with her and love the result. My hair is so much easier, does not change with the weather, and looks and feels better and healthier than it did when it was curly. No damage at all.\r

Since my long standing stylist moved out of town, I couldn't seem to find someone who truly understands color. I selected Alexander's based totally on the reviews. Marissa gave me her thoughts on the best color and cut for me.....she was right on target with what I had wanted. The finished product was GREAT! Marissa is a gem with color, but also takes her time....I never felt rushed. The salon is high-end, but all the staff are friendly and go out of their way to give one a pampered experience.\r
I definitely recommend Marissa and Alexander Salon!

I left pretty happy with my cut and color typically, but without fail the stylist was always late then I would have to sit there for practically hours. I would get a single process color and trim and for some reason be there for around 2.5-3 hours (on top of waiting 30 mins for the stylist to be ready). I couldn't stand how long it took - though in their defense, they are taking their time - which I guess is better than rushing, but I left the salon for someone that can work more quickly and efficiently, but do a great job. I'm new to Orlando and come from the Northeast where there is a plethora of great salons and stylists. I'm finding this isn't the case in Orlando.

Can't I give this hole-in-the wall establishment less than one star?!? This was by far the worst hair salon experience I have ever had! Save your money and go to a salon where you won't be confronted by an unprofessional, rude owner. My 15 minute consultation and simple cut turned into a 2 hour ""insultation"" where the owner proceeded to humiliate me in every way that she could think of. If I had to choose between having ""horribly damaged, gross hair"" or spending another penny in this place, I would gladly choose the former. The owner clearly needs to stop inhaling the fumes and brush up on her people skills. I will be SPREADING the word to all of my friends to NEVER go to this place!!!!!

I have always hated my hair - it's so fine that I look like I have about half as much as I should. My wedding was coming up and I found reviews for Debbie Sheehan of Alexander Hairdressing - many clients said that she knows how to deal with all types of hair. I thought I'd give her a shot, especially since I was getting married so close to the salon.\r
From day one, I knew it would work out with her. Debbie set up a plan for me which included two appointments to color my hair before the wedding. Admittedly, I was a little apprehensive, but I believe that if you give a true artist full reign of what they do well, you will not be disappointed.\r
As far as the color - I have never, NEVER received so many compliments about my hair color. Debbie told me how to take care of my hair between visits, and all of a sudden, I had great hair!\r
On my wedding day, Debbie gave me a big hug and tried to help me relax. She is the most meticulous person I have ever met - no hair was left out of place, literally. My hair was done in exactly 90 minutes, like she promised, and it looked outstanding. \r
Usually when I look back at pictures, I think ""what was my hair doing???"", but my wedding, for the first time, was an exception. I look at my photos and cannot believe how good my hair looked. For someone who has always been self-conscious, my color and haircut were worth the price and beyond. I will undoubtedly continue to ""treat"" myself by seeing Debbie over and over. At the risk of sounding shallow, my confidence has grown because of the beautiful work she had done!\r

I love Angie's wax, I am an spoiled cougar and refuse to settle for less than excellent service, I have been a coustomer for a very prestigious spa for several years, I always felt that the staff was to snoody and never felt at home. Marissa is my stylist. On my daughter's recommendation I scheduled an appt with her for a consult, then we procede with the treatment. Fantastic!!!! I've been 3 times since and my hair is getting better and better. The salon is high-end but very friendly, and professional. I used to go every two weeks with a lye-based relaxer on my hair someplace else but I finally figured out it was costing me more to go there than at Alexander Hairdressing. Plus I don't get split ends and breakage any more. Also my Eye lashes & eyebrows have never looked better thanks to Angie. Love Marissa, Angie and the salon.

I recently went to Alexander Hairdressing and had a great experience. I needed to get my highlights re-done and wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. I have blond hair but was not sure if I wanted to continue with my highlights during the winter or go a little bit darker. I had my appointment with Debbie and she had multiple suggestions and options for me. She ended up putting low lights in to complimate my color and overall I loved it! The cut was great as well as the color and everyone at the salon was very nice and fun to talk to! Angie finish it all off with shaping my eye brows and tinting my eye lashes. It was a great experience and I definitely recomend this salon to anybody in Orlando!

I'm very particular about who touches my hair. A cousin had recommended Sara for a quality haircut. I always would compliment her on her hair and I finally decieded to give her a try. I really appreciated the way you can voice your concerns and expectations when it comes to your own hair. It's good to have a stylist actually listen to your needs and not have them dictate their opions on what is the best look for you!! My little girls also love their haircuts. I have gone to Alexander since it opened. It's a quaint salon in College Park with a New York attitude. Every time I leave I feel like a celebrity. It's hip and modern, but professional to the highest degree. I am always impressed with the strong attention to detail, seasonal promotions, and especially knowing that the stylist is actually listening to me. Debbie educates her clients in proper hair care and styling techniques. Not only can you get a great hair cut and color, you also leave knowing exactly how to recreate the same look at home. In my first appointment, Debbie proposed changing my ""reddish"" auburn hair to a ""warm caramel"". She suggested it was too short, and we could transition to a longer but more up to date short haircut. I was apprehensive, but I said let's go! Thank you Debbie, it's the best haircut and color I've ever had. A year later, I'm glad I took the advice of a stranger with great hair, that Alexander Hairdressing was the best in Orlando.

After moving from LA, I was having a very difficult time finding a salon to meet my standards for color and creative cuts. After trying a dozen salons in the Orlando area, I read the reviews on Alexander Hairdressing and decided to give this salon a whirl. During my initial meeting with Debbie, she took her time in asking me a lot of questions about my hair, previous cuts, and the over all look I was going for. She was confident in giving her opinion and ideas when I asked. I asked her to cut my very long red hair off and to take it back to a vibrant blonde. WOW!!! I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks-which is the feeling that I was used to having with my old salon in LA. What a relief to find her! My haircut was like artwork and I am once again getting compliments from random people on the streets...asking where I get my hair done. The color is vibrant and lasts months....it never dulls and when the cut grows out, it still has an amazing shape. I drive 1 1/2 hours in traffic to get my hair done now, but it is so worth the time and money to have it done right the first time!

I just started going to this salon since my hairdresser moved there. The minute I stepped in, I felt comfortable and at home. Everyone is so nice there, and more importantly, extremely talented! So, I've tried a lot of salons in the area. I won't name names, but at more of the trendy spots I always end up with something 'different' or 'edgy', but never the haircut I asked for. I'm all about a classic haircut that looks cute, is easy to manage (but can also be dressed up), and gets complimented (I'm vain, ok?)

Marissa sat down with me and listened to my plans for my hair. Imagine that, a hair stylist that understands that you have to walk around with whatever they do to your head!

I have explained to every stylist I have ever seen that I have two hellish cowlicks where my hair meets my forehead. I have never, and I mean NEVER walked out of a salon with my fringe looking the way I like it, because stylists always ignore me and style my fringe without taking account of the cowlicks. So basically, I pay up to $100 for a haircut and feel like Cameron Diaz in 'Something About Mary' until I wash my hair.

Marissa is the first stylist to EVER listen and successfully navigate my hair. Not only that, but I have received no less than 15 compliments on how cute and flattering my hair is. As I said, I tend to bounce around to different salons due to service and ending up with something I simply didn't want. However, I already have another appointment lined up, and I absolutely recommend this salon. Not only did I get a very affordable style, but I didn't have to immediately go home and style my own hair. Awesome.

These women are extremely professional and make a fantastic team. I love the way Sara cuts my hair and so does everyone else. I get compliments left and right. It took me forever to find someone to cut my hair exactly the way I want it. I finally found someone who does not make me nervous when I get my haircut. I love the way Sara cuts my hair because she listens to what I want and does exactly what I tell her too. I have long hair with lots of layers and I cannot tell you how many times I have told stylists to just ""trim"" the ends, not to take any length off and they end up cutting 2 inches off. I have gotten so comfortable with Sara that I even considered an idea she gave me to not make my hair look so boring; I just told her to do it (which I never usually do) because I trusted her and the end result turned out great. I first started going to Alexander because my very picky young teenage son had become accustomed to having his hair cut at a specific salon in London. And while that is occasionally feasible, it's not regularly as we live here in Orlando.

We were lucky enough to find Alexander's Salon and Debbie and we simply won't go anywhere else.

For my son, they have a sense of youthful style, great ideas for ""what to do with your hair"" and the end result is always - truly - fabulous.

For me ... a bit ""hair challenged""... they actually convinced me (by the work they do) that it DOES make a difference when getting your hair cut - to get it done by professionals who know - EVEN when you have very little hair.

Obviously this is the man's perspective... but my son's mother is also a HUGE fan of Alexander Hairdressing.

After washing my hair I received an amazing, again AMAZING scalp massage along with a hand massage as well. WOW!! Janice made me feel really comfortable. Having a bad hair month Janice suggested I get something trendy. I was skeptical but my cut came out amazing and really funky, but not over the top.Perfect. That is all I could say. \r

The main reason I originally chose Alexander's was Muniza. She is an incredible stylist who I have followed since Toni and Guy. She has the ability to eliminate bad hair days and she will tell you what your hair needs without trying to ""sell"" you anything. At the time of my appointment with Muniza, I had a color consultation with Jesse. She was thorough when talking about the steps needed to make my blonde hair a chocolate brown. I'm excited to see the end results tomorrow!!! The support staff is very helpful and friendly from when you call to set up your appointment to when you walk out the door.

I have been a client at Alexander Hairdressing for about five years and have loved every hair cut, color and treatment! I have ""high maintenance"" hair and receive compliments all of the time from friends and colleagues about my hair -- the cut, the shine and the color. Their selection of product is great too. While it's expensive, I wouldn't change it for the world! I noticed a huge difference within a couple of weeks and have now been using it for years -- it never builds up and continues to add body, shine and strength. They even did my hair and makeup for my wedding which turned out fabulous! Just enough to accentuate my features for photos, but not over done. The staff is friendly, well trained and personable.

Been to Jessie twice for a cut and color. She does an excellent job. I have curly hair that I wear straight most of the time. The cut is fantastic as I am able to wear it curly or straight. She's spends a long time cutting it making sure it's just perfect. \r

In terms of color, keeping the integrity of my hair is very important to me, and Jessie does this. She does not bleach my hair to a ""white blonde"" that strips out all the color. She looks at my skin tone and creates a hair color that is complementary to it and that will still keep the integrity.\r

I have been looking for a great hair cut for 7 years that I have been in Orlando. I discovered Deb at Alexanders over a year ago and my hair was in a rough spot. She turned my hair around, gave me tips to manage my curly hair and make it straight and I have a very contemporary look even though I am a mom. It is important to me that someone cuts my hair and spends the time to make sure each strand is perfect. Deb spends a full hour cutting my hair wet and dry. I have been to other stylists who spend 15 minutes just casually trimming hair - not acceptable. If I am going to pay dollar one for a haircut, I want it to be thought out and thorough. I have never experienced a top-notch salon such as this one. Of course, I grew up in Orlando, and Alexander Hairdressing has European origins. The likes of this salon are probably more common in a place like New York or London. Debbie, the proprietor, has built a staff and a system that makes every client feel special from the moment she walks in - or he! There are plenty of men who patronize the salon, as well. My hair looks great, even when I style it. My color is never faded or brassy and it is in superb condition. I receive constant compliments from strangers almost every day - really, I'm not exaggerating - even the day before my next appointment. So you should expect that from a top notch hair salon, you say? Absolutely, and Alexander's delivers. The icing on top of the cake is the relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the small touches that add up to extraordinary service. It keeps us coming back!

p.s. I'm editing my review with this addition. I didn't know that the comment would pull my FB picture and now I don't know how to get it out! That is me with Berta, a young orphan in Honduras. It is NOT an example of my hair. That trip was wash, comb & go - I didn't even take a hair drier.

This was my first time ever going to a professional salon and it was an amazing experience. I went for a consultation and ended up with great advice, a fantastic color, and the best haircut of my life. As a former supercuts patron, the head massage, hand treatment, cocktail service, and knowledgeable guidance was new. The entire staff (including the owner) stayed 3+ hours after closing to make sure that we received the best experience possible. The staff members are friendly, intelligent, and well trained in their field. Plus, they are extremely well versed in etiquette. I am not one to go to salons (I've only been to one before). My hair needed love.

Pushing past my anxiety of leaving my hair in other peoples' hands, I bravely decide to let Debbie cut and color my hair in the way she thought would best suit my face and my pale color. Debbie is the fantastic owner with the best Scottish accent I've heard. She engaged me in a thorough, honest, and thoughtful consultation before she began.

I didn't have any doubts in her abilities, I trusted her completely. When we were through, I didn't look like the girl who walked in. I looked gorgeous and confident. Debbie and her team pull together to collaborate with you and custom craft an amazing transformation.

I've been going to Alexander for about a year and have gotten exactly what I want every time. I am always amazed at the difference from when I walk in to when I walk out. Everyone in the salon is professional and gracious. Customer service is top shelf. This is the only place to go for beautiful hair and a pampering experience.

I absolutely love coming in to get my hair done at Alexander Salon. The atmosphere is so inviting and the girls always know when I come in I want a cappuccino to sip on while I get my color done. It's these little thing that make their customer service unparalleled.

The owner Debbie is so detail oriented when cutting and highlighting my hair. She's amazing as she snips away and blends the most beautiful colors into my hair. I can't tell you how many compliments I get throughout the year. Debbie is so knowledgeable about hair health, and she educates you so you know how to maintain your hair after you leave. Her staff is so friendly and I always look forward to going in and getting my hair done.

Nothing is too decadent here; the shampoo includes a leisurely scalp massage, and the conditioning treatment includes a steamy hot towel that is draped over your shoulders and a to-die-for neck and shoulder rub-down. Did I mention the mimosas?

The stylists are extremely well-trained, especially Marissa, who recently graduated with flying colors (literally, as she is easily the best colorist in the city) from the Salon's rigorous apprenticeship program. I was told about Alexander hairdressing by a freind of mine and was as usual a bit unsure about changing stylist. I was over my hair not looking the way it should and the color loosing it's wow factor after a 2 to 3 weeks! I had Sarah do a few treatments that she explained and walked me through and when it was over I was overly satisfied! My color has been in for 3 weeks and I am still getting compliments on it! Two thumbs up and try the coffee it was perfect! Also the shampoo girl gave me the most relaxing head massage I had ever had I almost fell asleep in the chair! As a person who has been to many salons in the Orlando area, I have totaly had the best cut of my life here! I have been going back to see Sarah because when I get my hair done it is always perfect! It is one of those cuts and styles that I was very specific on and when I got to my car I glanced in the mirror to give my hair it's usual adjustment and realized it didn't need one! It was the first time I ever had this happen. I Totaly recomend this place to all my friends and know they will get the same treatment. As a recent transplant, I was optimistic yet hesitant to begin a new relationship with a stylist. I have, what I consider to be, difficult hair. It is curly in some areas and straight in others; just generally inconsistent. The receptionist was sweet and professional. The salon is relaxed and has comfortable vibe. However, Sara easily elevated this experience to the next level. Her experience was obvious from the first exchange. I felt she listened to and respected what I had to say concerning my desire for a more flattering 'style'. She taught me how to simply style my hair for an every day look and absolutely love the products she recommended!

If they are not trying to sell you something while you are TRYING to enjoy your hair getting done, they are over-charging you to dry your hair? It cost $50 dollars to DRY your hair AFTER you have already paid $120 for partial hi-lights and $90 for single color and $10 for some color sealer and $30 for some conditioner that you had no idea cost anything when they washed your hair. I mean, after shampoo does come conditioner..right? And shouldn't they dry your hair to make sure they colored it right? Why should I have to pay for them to check their work? And forget it if they had to use a toner. You get to pay $70 dollars if you want your haircut. Add it up?All this and you get to wait for four hours to get it all done....and then they try to sell you stuff again! Fell for this for over a year and learned that there are not only better stylists out there but kinder and more reasonably priced ones, who haven't forgotten that Customer Service is an art and valuable, and it?s about fairness in pricing (you are not remodeling my kitchen, just doing my hair) kindness and hair styling...I rather would not feel like I just ended up on a used car lot and pressured to pay for things I don?t want.

I believe that this will be the downfall of this salon. Talent can only go so far when you are asking your clients to pay for your personal gain. I, personally, like to donate to more lasting and meaningful charities.

Good luck, and keep looking. I don't mind spending money; I just don't like feeling like I am getting taken advantage of..every single time I go in. I fell for it but you don't have to.

UPDATE: I just read Debbie's response to my review, and she does not speak the truth. Your ""a la carte menu,"" as you call it, is in small print at the register on a lamenated card. You see it only when you check out. It was never offered to me at any other time, AND you NEVER told me how much my hair was going to be before you did it. In fact, you avoid the topic. And my hair has always been in amazing shape; you said so yourself. I would end up surprised every time that my bill was over $400.00 for cut and color. You also slipped a $30.00 treatment in here and a $10.00 conditioner there without ever asking me. I would have said ""no"" by the way. Bottom line, you are fraudulent and deceitful. Bottom line...you can cut hair well but you CAN'T COLOR...you never could. If you want BRASSY highlights, go to Debbie. If you want to be completely overcharged...go to Debbie. If you want to listen to GOSSIP about her other clients go to Debbie; you know she is talking about you too. She has grown egotistical and dishonest since her years working as a waitress on cruise ship, and she is ONLY A HAIRDRESSER after all. I would rather take my executive, ivy league hair to a more humble and well deserving servant. Sorry Debbie, you just aren't classy, and your lack of formal education shows in your defensive responses to the other reviewers. Be accountable to your customers and their complaints! Keep pretending to be something you're not, while those of us who can tell the real thing from a fake will pamper ourselves in finer establishments. ""Take Care.""

I was nervous making the switch to Alexander's as I had the same hairdresser for over 10 years. I had seen Debbie's work on numerous people and loved everyone's individual style and color. I came to Debbie wanting instant gratification knowing I would be pleased no matter what was done to my hair. It was worth the time in the consultation to understand the colors that work with my skin. Debbie took the time to offer suggestions and listened to my needs. I have been to her 4 times and each time I am more impressed by what this College Park salon has to offer! I get stopped all the time asking who did my hair. I am pleased to recommend Debbie to everyone!\r

I booked a cut and color appointment weeks ahead, but 24 hours before, I was told I could get only a cut bc I had to have a consultation first. The owner, Debbie, called me and told me I could do the cut and consultation or come in for a consulation and then return for a cut and color. Either way, I had to make two trips. She told me I lied when I said no one told me of her policy when I first made the appointment. She also said this salon wasn't right for me. I can send the letter I wrote them if you like. An excerpt:My visit was originally set for Sept. 2, but I was able to move it. When I did, the receptionist told me it would be for the last appointment for the day. I ... called back immediately to confirm it was for a cut and color. She confirmed that. When your receptionist called me today, she told me I was booked only for a cut. I told her I wanted both services. She called back to tell me that because I never had been there before, I needed a consultation before the color. She told me I would have to come back for a second appointment to get the color done.I canceled.Here is why: I did not expect such a lack of sophistication from this salon.I have been to much better and more expensive salons from Paris to Chicago to L.A. Neither has anyone failed to admit a mistake to me, nor has anyone failed to graciously and quickly correct it. I have been doing this long enough to know that unless you're sending hair clippings to Quantico for chemical analysis, a consultation doesn't require a return visit. Second, good stylists work color with the hair cut for the best results. The explanation I received today contradicts your policy on your website. It says this: ""If you are a New Client and want colour along with a haircut we will schedule you for a 15 minute complimentary consultation prior to your booking thus ensuring we schedule for the appropriate services and times correctly.""That indicates your consultations ... are 15 min and one on the same visit.\r

I have been getting good hair cuts for a long time in this town; however, nothing as AMAZING as i had today. I recently ventured to Alexander Hairdressing and had an appointment with Dante. His assistant gave me the best wash and condition i ever had, I went with a migraine and left that station feeling like a million bucks. My hair was a huge puff like always, and it needed some very serious help. Dante asked what i was looking for and i let him take over by briefly describing what i was looking for. We talked while i got an all scissor cut. When it was over he had me look at my hair and i was happy with the way it looked. After getting home and having three random people compliment my hair i glanced in the mirror for a up close look. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY WITH A HAIR CUT BEFORE. It looks like a cut that will get better and better as my hair grows back in. I have very thick hair that is very hard to style and for the first time it is manageable and just perfect! Do you have damaged hair? This is THE salon to go to for education about your hair, products for your hair, and the haircut that will flatter you most. I know from personal experience. In fact, I drive from Tallahassee and have my hair completely taken care of at Alexander Hairdressing! This is the place that finally solved my problem with VERY damaged hair that was caused by stylists that did not know how to color my hair properly. But no matter what has caused the damage to your hair (sun damage, chlorine damage from pools, damage from coloring products, etc.) you will be so excited to know that you can have healthy, beautiful hair again!\r

After reading the reviews already posted one needs to understand that Debbie is very passionate about what she does. She truly wants the best for you! I never felt pressure to buy products. After listening to Debbie educate me about my hair, I understood what would be involved to restore it to the healthy condition I desired. I have been a long-time customer, and sometimes I buy products and sometimes I don't. Also, I checked the prices of the products and there is hardly any mark-up when you buy from Alexander's. The mark-up is from $2 to $4 higher--which isn't much at all! Debbie will be honest with you about what is best for your hair. If you don't want the products, then just don't get them.

I love the look and feel of the salon. I'm use to being in a bigger salon with a lot of things going on. I like that its smaller than the previous salons I have gone to b/c it makes it more personal and I felt like I was at home. I previously had a bad hair cut and I have been trying to grow it out so I went to the salon so Jessie could give me a cut I can feel comfortable with and so my hair could grow out. I've been seeing Debbie and her very able assistant, Marissa, for about 6 months now after my husband and I made the move from Lake Mary to College Park. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with myself for making the change from my prior stylists in Lake Mary!\r
Debbie has given my fine, thin hair the best cuts I've ever had and I've gotten many compliments on the attractive style. Marissa is an accomplished colorist and gives wonderful head and neck massages as well....I've threatened to kidnap her and take her home for daily treatments! (smile!)\r
Debbie carries the finest products available here and knows the true science involved in healthy hair care. She is a good counselor to her clients regarding what's best for their individual needs.\r
I enjoy my monthly visits to the salon.....good conversation, good music, clean surroundings, good cappucinos, and lunch ordered if your appt. carries into that time of day. I only hope that if Debbie decides to move to a larger location it's still within such easy reach for me, as I'm now totally spoiled. Val Wilson

Due to damage caused by overprocessing and an illness several years ago, I had given up on having my hair feel and look like something other than straw. I had also given up on salons and bought products from Ulta trying to restore shine and bounce - still no success. With my thinning hair and my age, I ""felt"" most stylist didn't seem interested in spending much time with me. While shiopping at Publix, I noticed a woman with great haircolor and cut - and followed advice given in articles by asking her who did her hair. ""Debbie at Alexanders has been cutting and coloring my hair for several years,"" was her reply. I made an appointment several weeks later for a consultation expecting to be advised that my damaged hair would need to be cut within an ""inch of my scalp."" To my amazement, Debbie recommended keeping some length (even printing a picture of the style from the ""net"" ) and assured me she could restore shine, bounce and add great color. She came through on that assurance. Upon returning to work, my co-workers were very complimentary - something they don't do unless sincere. My husband loves the look. I love the cut and revitalization of my hair. I'm definitely returning for upkeep of cut and color. And yes, I did purchase 3 products - but these were products I had been looking for so it was a win/win for both of us! Everyone in the shop was gracious. Gratifying to find a business that, like my place of employment, understands that customer relations is as important to success as the product and service offered. djohnson

My husband and I were hesitant from moving from Michigan a few months ago. I looked online to City Search and after reviewing what clients who have visited Alexander Hair Salon had to say, I thought we would give the salon a try. Debbie was outstanding in her ability to make myself and my husband feel comfortable. She did a teriffic job on both of our hair. We are BOTH pleased (which isn't always the case) I am very happy with the recommendation for Alexander Hair Salon in Orlando.. and I have recommended the Salon to others... Just moved into Orlando 4 months ago from New York and have been very disappointed with the level of hairdressers in this town. That is until I came across Alexander Hairdressing Salon from reading reviews on Orlando City Search and decided to give it a try. To my delight it was everything I was looking for and more... great service, friendly faces, great atmosphere, and most important a fantastic haircut Debbie (the owner) took the time to make sure everything about my haircut was customized to my face and life style. I highly recommend!

Please listen to the reviews! This was the WORST salon experience I have ever had! I found the salon on this website, and thought I might make my own opinion (I unfortunately overlooked the bad reviews). I showed up for my appointment with Debbie, which of course she was late for, and before we even started someone was trying to sell me something. When I finally had a chance to meet with the ""owner"" she spent 20 minutes telling me how awful my hair looked. (you go to a new salon to get a new look, not to feel bad about yourself!) She also snuck a ""treatment"" into the service. I say this because my bill reflected something I did not agree to. My haircut was okay but NOT what I asked for. When I questioned the route we were going she quickly snapped at me, you know, the person paying for this ""service"". All the while, as the other reviews say, the constant selling of products was SOOOOOOO annoying. A little class goes a long way. By the time we had finished I just wanted to get the hell out of there. My bill was well over $100 for a subpar haircut and bad service. I have never been so angry! When I told a friend about my experience she told me she had been and had a similar experience. I can't believe this salon is still open. Save your money and keep looking!! Listen to the reviews!!

I read the reviews before making an appointment to go see Debbie so I was prepared for a really hard sell and somewhat annoying personality. Let me tell you that is a HUGE understatement! While I was in need of new cut, the overall service is not one that I would recommend. Debbie was running 45 minutes late which was annoying but the least of my problems. She spent two hours on my hair and while I am happy with my cut (it's cute but average) the two hours of her PUSHING her products was enough to make me really annoyed. She says that she 'tells it like it is' but I personally think she lacks the basic social skills to understand pleasant conversation. I like a hairstylist who can gossip and you can share a few good laughs with!\r

As I mentioned above, my cut is cute. The back looks nice and the layers are decent. However my bangs are totally uneven and I am having to go to another salon to fix this. Debbie charged $90 for the cut, and she also charged an additional $12 for the 2 inches of hair in the front that she flat ironed. You should be forewarned that I felt some pressure to tip from her receptionist when I was checking out. Please know that you are NOT expected to tip owners!!\r

All in all, not the worst cut I've had, but I personally don't think it was worth $102. If you do decide to make the jump and let Debbie cut your hair, I would recommend earplugs while you are in her care.

The person who had been doing my hair is no longer at the salon I was going to and I don't know how to find her, so I browsed through city search and found Alexander Hairdressing. I called this morning and asked for an appointment and could get in today. Dante cut my hair. He consulted with me beforehand and when I was telling him the length I wanted, he even pointed out the length of his last client who was leaving. I agreed , but said just a touch shorter than that. I said I wanted my hair to rest on my shoulders. Well it DOESN'T rest on my shoulders. It just touches them. When he was finished, he asked me how it was and I told him what I am telling you. He then went on to tell me that it WAS resting on my shoulders. (too bad I can't post a picture on here) He also asked what I wanted him to do. Well, you can't put it back. Now I have to wait for it to grow. Thanks. So he says next time he'll leave it longer. Next time? Then I go to pay-- the least he can do for doing what I didn't want is give me a break on the cost, it shouldn't have cost me anything, really. Instead he charged me $63.00. My biggest mistake was leaving a meager tip. I just shouldn't have left anything. I didn't even get an apology from him. I left and cried in my car. Every time I catch my reflection I want to cry. Now that I've been able to look at it and play with it and see what I can do with it, I can honestly say I hate it. I feel like I got ripped off. $63.00. Are you kidding me?

I have to agree with other reviewers that the salon itself is small, but all of the staff makes you feel welcome and offers top-notch service. I had been to the salon previously and had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, the person who cut my hair is not there currently and I was called and informed about this. I scheduled an appointment with another stylist, who turned out to be the salon's owner.\r

Let me first say that Debbie is really an amazing stylist. She does seem to know what will look good on you, etc. and is very skilled. I can understand either her, a) true belief in the products that she uses or b) the need to sell products or c) both. However, relentlessly pushing these products throughout the entire styling process is grating. \r

It also made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I cannot afford to spend $150 (this was including tips, because I didn't realize until afterward that she was the owner.) every eight weeks for a cut and treatment. For those of you that can afford it and/or do not mind a hard sell, I can truly recommend it.

This salon is a compilation of Orlando's best talent under one roof. I have been a client of some of the stylists there over the years and now all of my favorites are together! I'm picky about who cuts my curly hair - I'm vain about it. I can trust myself in this salon to say, ""Do what you think is best,"" and know that I'll get just that - their best. It's the kind of cuts that you can actually work with - not just limited to what they made you look like when you got out of the chair. You can do it at home and they can show you how. Dante and Debbie are masters at their craft and I highly recommend them to anyone that asks. It is a little pricey, but it ain't Super Cuts. You're going to love what they do. I can't say enough about them! And they know curly!

After years of dedication to another salon that I was not happy with, I finally made the move to Alexander Hairdressing. I did my research (which isn't always fail proof) and decided on Debbie. From the moment I met her, I knew that I was in capable, caring hands. My hair was in bad shape and the cut was atrocious! I have just finished my second visit with Debbie and the difference is astounding. I haven't gotten compliments on my hairstyle in years. I am always getting compliments now! Debbie suggested Kerastace products, which I tried and I am glad I did. I can't believe the difference in my hair. It is healthier, it moves and shines! I couldn't be happier. To add to the wonderful experience, these people treat you like you are a queen. They order food for you and have it delivered. They are always asking if they can do anything for you. The atmosphere is relaxing, absent blaring hard edge music... and I leave with a sense of well being and contentment. I could not recommend this place any more highly!

I am a new client to Alexander Hairdressing. I can tell you from my first experience that you feel welcomed right from the start! As soon as I walked through the door, someone was right there to greet me and offer a beverage. The prices are higher than I'm used to, but it's well worth it! I had my color done with Jessie and my cut with Dante. They talked with me for a few minutes and listened to my concerns and they gave me some advise on what I should do. They were right, because I love the way my hair looks and feels! I was very relaxed the whole time and left feeling great! Oh and I received a treatment on my hair and it feels great! (the message is well worth it too:)

Moving into a new town and finding a new hairdresser that can replace someone you have a long and trusting relationship with can be extremely scary. Luckily a work colleague recommended Alexander Hairdressing. I had a really enjoyable experience on my first visit that made me feel very special and well looked after. The lady cutting my hair was called Debbie; she gave me a detailed consultation which immediately put me at ease. She advised me on styles that would suit my hair type and my lifestyle. My haircut was amazing; this girl really knows her stuff! I purchased some of the Kerastase shampoo and conditioner and I am completely sold on this product, it is doing wonders for my fine hair (wish I had found this stuff years ago!!). Truly satisfied customer, already booked my next three hair appointments. Well worth the money!\r

I just received a new style from Alexander today as a present from my daughter, and I am really impressed with Debbie! She is amazing! She has such a wealth of knowledge of hair, hair care products, and styling techniques. Some stylists may think they know the mechanics of hair cutting, but she seems to take it to another level. I appreciated her effort in teaching me how to maintain and create the same styling results at home that she was able to produce in her hands at the salon. Now I know what to do with my hair! I've had my hair done at various expensive salons and I have never had anybody seem to know as much about my hair and what I can do to work against it's kinks and faults.\r

I've read a negative review concerning the salon pushing products and services below. From my experience today, all the information I received seemed to come from genuine intentions to see me looking my best everyday... and believe me, I am looking great today!

I have been going some where else to get my haircut and color. Well let?s just say not good, too many colors going on. Then I saw a family member with her new color, highlights, and cut, it looked gorgeous, I had to ask where do you get your hair done? It looks great! So I called on a Saturday and booked with DEBBIE the following week. We talked, I told her what my family member had, I told her I trusted her, what she thought I should do. She had to color correct my hair, then did AMAZING highlights, and cut. WOW, I have never gotten my hair to look like that from anyone else. DEBBIE ROCKS!!! She is going to help me grow my hair the way I want, which by the way was butchered by someone else. That night I went out, DEBBIE you were right, they where all jealous. They loved it and believe me I am sending them all your way. I am also impressed with the Kerastase products, my hair looks and feels great, customer service, when I walked in I was greeted, offered something to drink, top notch. Alexander Hairdressing is clean, warm atmosphere and professional, this is a 100% satisfaction experience. I can go on and on. DEBBIE, you are an angel, and I will keep saying that, you worked out a miracle, and gained a customer for life! You ROCK!!!! Candra also did a great job on my Eyebrows and I was introduced to European Eyelash Tinting WOW! That is amazing! I will be back and recommend everyone I know!!

I've often wondered why getting a decent haircut and color seems to be so difficult. Then 7 years ago, I met Debbie Sheehan - she's in an entirely different class! Her talent, knowledge and creativity only outweigh her desire for superb client service and care. By far the best cut and color anywhere. The salon itself is in College Park - an awesome location. It's a small salon which allows for attention to detail without being pretentious. The entire staff is amazing...skilled, attentive and personable. And I've watched the other stylists at work - incredible! Personally, I am SSSOOOO sad that I'm now in Seattle and cannot find a decent hairstylist. Curses!! I have been spoiled by Debbie Sheehan and Alexander Hairdressing!! I had to fly home for the 2006 holiday season just to get my hair done. Maybe I'll just have to travel 3000 miles every 6 weeks or so...it would be well worth it!

This salon is without a doubt the best in expertise with color, cutting and styling. I couldn't recommed a better salon in all of Orlando when it comes to their capability!!!! All employess have displayed great results in whatever service they provide hair, eyebrows, product recommendation...etc. My only constructive criticism would be the high pressure to buy the products and in salon hair treatments. Let me first say I have used the hair products and had the treatments and they are excellent and again the top of the line. However, not everyone can afford $30 shampoos, conditioners, styling gels and hair treatments. I would like for it not to make an uncomfortable moment in my salon experience. If they are willing to work with those that can afford the experience to a certain point this is a wonderful place to maintain your hair.

Finally, a salon I can return to! As far as I can tell, an upscale salon is an upscale salon: the employees are chatty, the atmosphere is hip, the music is usually okay. However, I have not (in a long time) visited a salon whose employees actually possess any real SKILL. Imagine that. I wanted someone who would offer me some advice as to what hairstyle will look good on ME (after all, they are the professionals), and to send me home looking different than when I came in. I know it seems very little to ask, but you would be surprised how much time and money I have spent trying to find exactly that. I found it here. I will return, no question. I would not recommend any place else.

this is the most upscale salon orlando has to offer, the staff is friendly, down to earth, and the customer service is impeccable. it is a small cozy salon that covers all hair needs, and the staff works together as a well oiled machine, focusing on YOU during the time that you are there, from the moment you enter the salon, you are greeted with a smile, the 2 stylists are very much into their craft, but words dont do them justice, go in and observe, they are by far 2 of the most educated and talented hairdressers orlando has to offer. but dont take my word for it, go in and check it out, cold beers and foamy cappucinos, are served while you wait, lunch is ordered if you are going to be there for a few hours, only thing missing is wireless internet access, otherwise, this is really the best salon in town, hands down, go debbie, go dante, you guys love what you do and it shows, i will never get my hair done anywhere else as long as i live in town\r

I have never before met anyone as talented and well trained as Debbie Sheehan, and I am consistantly thrilled with the experience that I have in her salon. I am complemented by strangers after seeing her, and am always more than happy to tell others to go to Alexander. The other staff have added to my positive experience (Gregg!), and I love how helpful they are about educating me on techniques and products that will help me achieve a great look at home. They all definitely know what they are doing, and I trust them over anyone else.

I moved here from South FL and used to the NY expertise in hair. They are very good with color, but can't quite get it right with cuts and styles, even when I bring in plenty of photos. Service and staff is very friendly and accomodating. BUT, the sales pressure is so ridiculous I am seriously considering going elsewhere. Every 3 to 4 weeks it's the same thing all over and they just don't hear you when you tell them you aren't interested. I can't STAND that.

I had to let everyone know what a GREAT EXPERIENCE i had here! I felt very welcomed when i came here. My stylist was excellent! Debbie went through a very detailed consultation before she started anything - this put me at ease and made me relax. I have had so many horrific experiences in the past at other salons that the approach here was very professional and very detailed to ME! My haircut is the best ever and so easy to take care of. My Color is so beautiful - the color of blond is perfect with my complexion. I felt like a million dollars when i left and still do. I have NEVER had so many compliments on my haircut or color. This last visit was my 10th visit so I just wanted to share my experience with others. You will not be dissappointed in your visit here. This team knows how to cut and color hair for sure! I have recommended so many of my friends and family and they all feel the same. Great Capuccinos too! They serve you lunch too - felt like i was in Europe! GREAT EXPERIENCE!!

I was so pleased to finally find a salon that has the service and skill I have been used to. I just moved here from Atlanta and became very accustomed to great haircuts and great service. You are completely pampered from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. You don't just have one person helping you, you have your own assistant to tend to your specific need. They served me lunch, gave me a massage, and booked my next appointments so that I would get the time I wanted. The Kerastase products they use are amazing! You should absolutely check them out!!
