They are open early, have great coffee, friendly service, offer simple but tasty food, all at a reasonable price. It's a great neighborhood restauant and coffee shop!

I highly recommend having a good homestyle breakfast at Cafe Java. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and they were fantastic. The coffee is ground on the premises and you can taste the difference. I plan on returning very soon and trying thier Homemade hash.

My husband and I visit Cafe Java at least once a week. This is our favorite friendly neighborhood restaurant. They have a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff (especially the managers), and great menu selection. It makes a great place to take family and friends because everyone can find something they'll like - breakfast anytime (I suggest Migas), burgers, sandwiches (try the Chicken Cheddar Melt), gigantic salads, and delicious, home-cooking specials (Meatloaf, Chicken Fried Steak, Spaghetti, etc.). And as the name boasts, they have excellent, smooth coffee. Did I mention their fantastic desserts? Try the ultra-rich chocolate mousse cake.

If you visit for lunch, I recommend going at 11 o'clock to avoid the lunch rush and wait. Dinner at Cafe Java is quiet and cozy, which makes a great place to have long discussions. They also have a great location in North Austin on Metric Blvd. Enjoy!

Pros: comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, menu selection, excellent specials that will transport you back to mom's cooking

Cons: only open for dinner on Monday-Friday

My favorite place to eat, drink coffee, relax and occasionally do some work away from the office (internet is free) is Cafe Java. The food is excellent, the service is outstanding!

I have been a frequent customer for about 10 years and have never, ever had a bad service experience or less than an excellent meal or coffee.

The couple times that my family has eaten here we have all been impressed. They have great food and their daily specials are often a hit. The coffee is great and at good prices, plus they offer free wireless internet. So if you're looking for a place to have great food, coffee and get some studying done it provides a great atmosphere.

PROS: free wireless internet, great food, daily specials, good coffee

We have eaten here many, many times. And we really do enjoy it. We love the staff, and especially like Reiko, she is great. The food is the kind you get at grandma's house, the kind of food you crave when you leave home for college. They have daily specials and on the occasions we have had them, they have been wonderful. This location has a coffee bar, and art by a local artist, of sports figures. It is always very clean and an obvious favorite of the local paramedic and fire professionals. It has been a rare occasion that we drive by and do not see a "bus" parked outside around breakfast or lunch time. As for dinner, I am honestly at home by then, so I cannot coment on that. There coffee drinks are great and you can either walk-in and order your coffee to or sit and enjoy the buzz of a good hometown cafe. They have frequent buyer cards for both coffee and food. So be sure to pick up a card and get rewarded at the end. Either way it is a treat.

PROS: Hometown atmosphere and food. Good eat and visit.

This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is nice (unique pictures on the wall, dark color scheme), a great place to go for a night out, but also very kid friendly. My waitress was so friendly she actually sat down and held my child lol And the food is excellent, the coffee strong. I highly recommend the chicken avocado salad. Enjoy!
