I have to recommend this doctor (Dr. Viernes). He seems highly capable and instilled a great amount of confidence in me, where other doctors failed. My previous doctor (an internal med) was baffled and alarmed at my skin problem. He had no useful insights or solutions and made me feel VERY uneasy about the situation. Dr. Viernes diagnosed the problem immediately and with confidence. He even printed out a packet from the web on my condition and also answered a follow-up question that day from me over the phone. If you have a dermatological need and live in or near Austin, check him out in his new office.

What attracted me to ARC at first was the abililty to make appointments online, and that they accepted me insurance. I have seen a few doctors here for various issues and have always been impressed by them and the other staff. They have recently added dermatology as a specialty, and it's very nice to be able to get in to see a dermatologist in less than two months (it took me about eight days).

PROS: ease of scheduling
CONS:

Austin Regional Clinic at Brodie Lane is a great location for those is Southwest Austin. They have many available appointments, and the pediatric side and adult side of the clinic are seperated. This is great for me, because I don't have to worry about sick kids running around bothering adults. They have a little play are in the kids area too, but make sure to wipe hands after the kids play here. The staff is great and there is never a long wait. There is plenty of parking too. They also have an after hours clinic.

I like going to ARC for the simple reason that I know I'll be seen by a caring Doctor. The 2 times I've had to go in were the best experiences with a medical professional, ever. They take the time to ask you questions, not rush through your appointemnt or emergency. Although, they are always busy, it's still a great place to go for medical care.
