Given the dominant theme of negativism of the reviews of this dealership I've read here and elsewhere, and my own negative experience, I seriously doubt the credibility and origin of any of the
"positive" reviews I've read. I traveled 114 miles, one way, to the dealership in response to their online advertisement of a "GM Certified Used Vehicle." The salesman and I had already agreed upon a final, driving away, bottom-line price. The salesman assured me in our second phone call that his sales manager (SM) had indeed approved the agreed upon price and that there would be no last minute add-on charges or fees. At the dealership the salesman said however that the veh was a "Certifiable" (with emphasis on the "ble") GM used car, contrary to their ad saying it was certified. He turned me over to the SM manager who also said that the previously agreed upon price was wrong. As I walked away, the SM fell in beside me and tried to persuade me to discuss the matter further. As I drove away, he called again and I declined to return, and he apologized. Then the "general manager" called me to apologize, in an obvious attempt to minimize any possible consequences. The obvious scam was to say whatever was necessary to lure me to their store for the opportunity to try to manipulate a higher price. The casual manner in which the sales staff executed the scam indicates it is common practice. The call from management indicates that the management not only condoned, but participated in, the scam I gave the dealership one star only because I couldn't give it less. I now doubt that a "GM Certified Used Car" has any real significance or credibility. Significantly however, using the same kind of ad from another dealership who honored our pre-agreed price, I bought the other dealer's car on that same day.

I had a great experience at Lone Star. I would be leery of people who tell tall tales. This dealership used to be terrible in terms of customer service and shaky tactics, but no more. It's a great place to do business. If you are there and you have anything less than a great experience then you should ask for a member of management or the owner because they do not want you to have anything but the best!

We went to Lonestar against our better judgment this past week. We had spoken to a Sales Manager named Mike and he assured us that our experience would be pleasant. Mike explained that "Lonestar" had been purchased by the owners of Nissan of McKinney and that the owners and his own reason for being at Lonestar was to model it after their Nissan store. Mike took the time to show us around the facility and even walked us next door to Nissan of McKinney to show us their plan for Lonestar. We were inpressed. My wife and I decided that we wanted to be a part of something like Nissan of McKinney and that Mike and the people now at Lonestar deserved a chance. This was the most pleasant experience we have had while purchasing a car. And we have been married 24 years. I think the new ownership and the management staff at Lonestar deserve the chance to prove theirselves. One last note. When we asked Mike why he chose Lonestar (he had just moved to Texas) he pointed to a man he referred to as Chris and said, " Have you ever seen the owner of a dealership working at 7 p.m.?" We were impressed with not only that, but that owner's genius to employ people like Mike, Daniel, and our salesman Wayne.

They lied to us about our car never being in an accident before we purchased it. This will affect our trade-in value if we do decide to trade it in later. We have previously purchased two vehicles through them and never had a problem. It was disheartening and frustrating when they did nothing at all to make this right, even when we brought it to their attention.
Lone Star may shrug their shoulders and think, "no big deal", but they have lost our family as customers.
It's too bad that finding an honest car dealer is harder than pulling teeth. I know everyone is out to make a buck, but doing so honestly seems to be a thing of the past.
I am no longer angry...just very disappointed!

I visited this dealership about a year ago and found it to be a not so pleasant experience. I heard about the new rebates that GM had going on and decided to give Lone Star another chance. When I pulled into the front, I was greeted by a nice young man. The salesman was never pushy and made sure that he knew exactly what I wanted. I told him that I needed to speak with my husband and that I would get back to him. I figured that the calls would start as soon as I left, but they didnt. My salesman gave me the time I needed to decide. I bought my 2009 GMC Yukon Denali on July 1, 2009. I love my car and I love THE NEW LONE STAR!!!!!!!!!!

I started my Pontiac shopping online and once I had a good feel of the price of the car I wanted I contacted Lonestar, which is right by my house and told the sales associate what I was looking to spend on a specific car. After a few emails, he had it right where I wanted, I gave him my finance information and set up a time to go pick up the vehicle. From the time I got there, the whole experience just went downhill. I was expected to just sign and take the car, but in my short trip the price changed, not a little, $5000?! My short trip at the dealership went from going to pick up my new car to 2 hours of salesman BS. What I was trying to avoid doing my research online. I finally left, but honestly had no idea what the final price was. After I walked out, the harassment started, tag team phone calls, emails, and all sorts of non sense to get me back in, but they would never give me a price. I shopped around found a better deal and several straight-forward honest sales reps at other dealerships. When I told Lonestar that I had gone a different direction, mainly because of the dishonesty of my first visit and reluctance to give me a firm price without another trip they just got nasty. Individuals I didn't even work with up there, started sending me harassing emails with personal attacks. It was pathetic. I buy more cars then most, having a large family, and I must say, worst dealership experience ever. Not only dishonest and manipulative, but down right nasty. Also, apparently, they take offense to shopping around. They actually told me I wasn't their type of customer because I went to other dealerships.Stay away, don't give them your email or phone number....trust me.

I was in there just a couple of weeks ago and everyone was very nice to me and my family. I have two young kids and the finance manager actually came out of his office to turn the T.V. on to the disney channel for them, and showed them where some toys were, so they could be occupied and safe while we were in the finance office. I have no idea what people are talking about. This is the best dealership I have ever been to, and people are crazy putting this kind of stuff on here to make a dealership look bad. If you had any concerns about this dealership please feel free to e-mail me @ lisa.brooks_36@yahoo.com, and I will let you know exactly how my experience was.

They Lie, Cheat and Steal. They tried to sell us things that were already on the car. They stole my trade in.

Kids were hungry and we took them to lunch. The salesman called us and said that we needed to come back or he would get fired.

They say the use video cameras to record the transactions (they even point them out to you) but when you ask them to review it, they refuse to do it and will say they already did and then later tell you they didn't.

The finance department is rude, even to children.

My car was behind the building the but they told me it was aleady gone and off the lot. This was the same day, only a few hours later. This is when I told them I do not want to do business with them and want my car back. They kept citing that we signed power of attorney when we did not. They said that they can do what ever they want with the car. They never even tried to produce it when we asked to see it.

Then they would spam us with email and not stop about wanting us to but another car.

They do not care about you, just a sale.

I would not recommend Lonestar. We have lived in Mckinney for 15 yrs. and have purchased cars from Bob Tomas, Frisco Ford and Hyundia in plano. All of which were speedy transactions with sales people who didn't play the minds games. I will never return to lonestar. I made a purchase back in 2004 and the sales man walked out the day I picked my 2004 vibe up due to the BS he tolerated working for lonestar. Three years later I returned believing I could trade my Vibe in. It took 2 hours to get someone to come tell us the price of the car we wish to purchase and the amount of my trade. Back in 2004 It took 8 hours to get the deal done. I would not recommend this place. They are not concerned with people who have a life and have a home and family. They will try to keep you stuck for all eternity, problem is its hell not heaven.
