Awesome! The BEST sushi in Winston! Have tried them all, this is the best place to get my sushi "fix". My favorites are the Angels Demons and Wake Forest Rolls. Been coming to Sakura for about 4 years, never a problem, always a joy -both cuisine and staff. Sushi is bar far the freshest I've had since relocating to WS from San Diego. Love this place, especially the patio!

My ONE and ONLY experience Was today may 24th. When we walked in it didn't look very clean but we went ahead and sit down and ordered our food. All we ordered was hibatchi chicken and steak it took 15 minutes to get our food and there was only a few other tables of people there .. We started eating and it wasn't very impressive. But the worst part is I took a bite of chicken and knew right away something was wrong. I actually went to the bathroom and got sick I saved a piece of the bone that chipped my tooth when I bit into it. I gave it to the waitress and told her what happened she apologized and took 20 % off our bill. To my surprise when I left and checked my bank account they had charged my card twice. So I called them and spoke to manager who was so rude and disrespectful she actually hung up on me and I had to call back long story short I would never ever recommend this place for anyone..

This place has got to be the worst restaurant i have EVER been to! the floor was sticky, the bathroom smelled like someone smoked in it and the service SUCKED!!! i went with my friend and her family. the waiter got half of the order wrong and we had to wait almost 10 minutes for our appetizers! i had pan fried dumplings as my appetizer. part of it was so crispy i thought i was eating burned toast! for my entree i had decided on the habachi chicken bento box. when i got it it wasnt even in a bento box! the carrots were obviously frozen because they tasted HORRIBLE!!!!! the only things good in the bento box was the chicken which was somewhat overly seasoned, the white steamed rice, the white sauce and the zhuccini. after we were done eating we had to tell our waiter that they forgot my friend's ramen noodle soup. he said that it wwould be right out. while looking at the counter, i saw a guy or 2 come out of the cooking room laughing. others were talking in japenese. this made me feel very uncomfortable for i didnt know if they were talking about the very few customers that were there! after almost 20 minutes my friend and i decided that we should leave and forget about it. just in case you were wondering, their sanitation grade is 93.5 . this was the first time i went here but the last time i will ever walk through the doors.

Sakura has really good sushi. It is one of my favorite places in Winston Salem to go. The lunch combination is really good; 1 roll each of Tuna, Cucumber and Salmon for $9.95, (please note date of review when considering price). The "Angels & Demons" are good too. Not bad for what used to be a Burger King!

Looking for good Japanese food? Sakura is it. Try the salmon, or habatchi chicken. Prices are good, considering the amount of food you get, and the quality!

We were in from Minnesota vacationing and lookng for a decent sushi restaurant. We stopped in at Sakura and more than pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere inside was warm and inviting. We then sat down to the Sushi Bar and asked the chefs to recommend something. They served up two of the best sushi platters we have ever had. The first one "True Love" was a unique plate of sushi with the sushi wrapped in this crunchy soy bean wrap that was to die for. The second that the chef referred to as "Devils and Angels" was no less pleasing. I would rate this as one of my favorite sushi experiences anywhere, up there with well known restaurants in Los Angeles. Who would have thought.... in Winston-Salem.

On top of it, the waiters and service was exceptional. They were buzzing around like bees and always on top of everything. Everyone was smiling, as were the many Wake Forest Footballers that were sitting across from us at a separate table.

Pros: Service, price value

.

The chef specials are ALWAYS on point. The service can't be beat. The price is right and their health score is always high. They have great outdoor seating and are very family friendly!
